PERANCANGAN KORIDOR JALAN DIPONEGORO PONTIANAK, KALIMANTAN BARAT

Diponegoro Street is a festival road and has a corridor, the corridor has no space to support festival activities or other social activities. The design of the Diponegoro Street Corridor is a public space, has a function as social space, and Pontianak cultural space (Malay, Dayak, and Chinese). The goal is achieved by applying the concept of "The Canopy City" a corridor that accommodates a variety of functions (Cultural Room, Festival Room, Street Room, Social Space and Economic Space), and utilizing the activities of the surrounding shop houses to support activities.

Bordah Traditional Music as A Local Wisdom On Malay Society Wedding Ceremony Coastal North Labuhanbatu Regency

This study aims to determine the existence, functions and values of local wisdom of traditional music at the wedding ceremony bordah coastal communities wither North Labuhan Batu Regency. The theory used is the theory that relate to research topics such as the theory of existence, the theory of functions, traditional music theory, the theory of the wedding ceremony and the theory of values Local Wisdom. This study uses qualitative descriptive method where the data is examined through the collection of data in the form of photographs and videos, scientific papers, as well as the expert opinion in the material based on the research topic. The results showed that the presence of traditional music bordah is a traditional art in the form of poetry, music, dance and customs, the wedding ceremony. Bordah displayed on Regent Cup Festival activities, Hagaf, Thanksgiving child's birth and circumcision ceremony. Bordah functions of traditional music as entertainment, as Iringin, means of communication, expression of gratitude, the continuity of culture and a means of self-expression. Local wisdom values bordah traditional music at the wedding ceremony coastal communities wither North Labuhan Batu district: religious values, the value of art, solidarity, tolerance, the value of harmony and peace, the value of modesty, the economic value and the value of education. Decoding Western Festive Season Symbols and Rituals in Marketing Messages: A Bottom of the Pyramid Consumer Study in South Africa

This study explored the communication of marketing messages containing traditional, Western festive season symbols and rituals. Specifically, the research sought to understand the decoding of such messages portraying festive season symbols (like Santa Claus and Christmas trees) and rituals, by Afrocentric bottom of the pyramid (BOP) consumers. This qualitative study involved interviews with thirty-one participants in two metropolitan areas in South Africa. The study used a combination of semi-structured interview questions and treatments of two South African television advertisements and two newspaper advertisements depicting Western festive season symbols and rituals. The study revealed a broadly positive sentiment towards the festive season, where festive season activities allow participants to implement their Afrocentric cultural values of unity and collective responsibility. Findings also show that Afrocentric cultural values do affect the decoding of these marketing messages. There was also a variety of responses to marketing messages displaying the symbols of Christmas trees and Santa Claus, which were not common in BOP consumer households. The key recommendation highlighted by this study is that marketing messages communicated to South African BOP consumers should also consider Afrocentric values of unity and collective responsibility.

Activity: A Basic Teaching Form of Morality and Rule of Law Lessons in Primary Schools

As a basic teaching form of morality and rule of law lessons in primary school, activity plays a significantly importance role in mobilizing the students’ enthusiasm and subjective initiative. By participating in a variety of activities, students can improve their knowledge structure and enrich their life experience, thereby promoting the formation of students' correct concepts and good qualities. There are massive activities which can be designed by teachers to trigger students' creativity and enhance their practical ability. In this paper, methods, openness, integration of activities as well as how to conduct the activities are investigated. In general, the activities of morality and rule of law lessons in primary schools mainly include: observation activities, investigation activities, discussion activities, visit activities, production activities, planting activities, breeding (feeding) activities, exchange activities, participation in ceremonial activities, filial piety activities, environmental protection activities. These activities can be arranged before, during or after class by combination with other activities, such as class activities, school activities, festival activities and family activities. Based on different themes of teaching, it is suggested that teachers can conduct these activities by direct activities or communication activities. It is widely acknowledged that the activities of a class often exist in a comprehensive way. The development of activities can achieve the best teaching results by taking the teaching content and the actual situation of the class into consideration.

Refleksi Ajaran Shinto Dalam Omamori

(Title: Shintoism Reflection InOmamori) Shinto handed down from generation to the next generation. Shintoism have had a strong influence on the lives of Japanese people, from festival activities to objects in their surroundings. Omamori is known as one form of that influence and became a culture part of the harmonization of the Shintoism and Buddhism. As one of the sacred objects which are still trusted by Japanese people, the existence of omamori is so popular even in modern society. Through a literature review, this article aims to describe what parts of the omamori are a reflection of Shintoism. The results obtained show that the reflection can be seen among others in the omamori user's belief in the existence of kamisama (Gods), and evil spirits, also can be seen from the material of the omamori itself.

Pendampingan Pelestarian Budaya sebagai Objek Wisata melalui Festival Kampung di Desa Senaung Kecamatan Jambi Luar Kota Kabupaten Muaro Jambi

The tourism potential in Senaung village has a character because there are history and culture as a representation of the past life of the Jambi people. However, the tourism potential has not well managed and has not developed as a source of income for the community. Through the community engagement program, the team formulated solutions in the form of cultural preservation by identifying tourist objects that have not detected, recording and documenting historical objects, old buildings, and objects, and set tourist objects for performances at village festivals. Mentoring conducted through the provisioning, training, and mentoring programs. Then, the promotion of attractions is spread through social media. The results of the mentoring activities show that there is an increase in awareness, knowledge, concern, and cultural preservation skills that have an impact on the new sources of community income. Cultural preservation through village festival activities in Senaung village is useful for inheriting culture, traditions, and diverse historical heritage.

This research can be classified in the category of field research. Data collection used in this study uses observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Data analysis in this study is data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study show that the PGSD study program policy in its efforts to improve student character is by character education strategy, namely the development of an educational unit culture through a policy of using uniform and point cards. Co-curricular character education strategy through the activities of the learning media competition festival and the PGSD Award. Extracurricular character education strategy through Scouting and Kepalangmerahan activities. From the theatrical movement in the history of Ukraine in the 50s of the 20th century

The article deals with the importance of festival activity in Ukraine. By referring to archived data, the author convincingly proves that the festival brings theater to the next level of Ukraine on cooperation and the level of self-realization, not only the actors but also directors with dramaturges. Through this festival the audience had the opportunity to watch the presentation of different levels. The festival has played an important role in the theatrical life of the USSR in the development of Ukrainian theater in general. Repertoire policy is analysed, as well as organizational aspects of the festival direction are considered.

Festivals and re-ethnicization of China’s Miao migrant community

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the efforts of an ethnic Miao migrant worker association to recreate and engage with festivals both in the host society of the Pearl River Delta and back home in Southeastern Guizhou province of Southwest China. It analyzes how and under what conditions the disadvantaged migrant workers collectively demonstrate and assert their cultural identity in festival activities, rekindling and strengthening their ethnic consciousness. Design/methodology/approach Based on ethnographic field data, this study focuses on the connections between migrant workers’ lives in modern host societies and their traditional culture back home. Special attention is paid to the temporal dynamics of migrant workers’ cultural identity and socio-economic development. Findings The leaders of the Miao migrants’ association created network linkages to channel the flow of labor, capital and culture between the host society and the migrants’ hometown, and made efforts to secure institutional embeddedness at both ends of the flow. Their use of festivals and related heritage as cultural capital has facilitated the cultivation of network linkages and institutional embeddedness for economic advancement and overcoming ethnic prejudices and institutional disadvantages. Originality/value By illustrating how the economic development has been imbricated with culture, this research enhances understanding about the role of network linkage and institutional embeddedness in the flow of labor, capital and culture between host society and home place of migrant communities.

Research on Application of Light Art in the Construction of Creative City： The Case of China “Dreamy Wuhan” Lighting Show

The emergence and development of light art is established on the maturity of lighting technology and also combined with innovative technology and charm of art, which has been widely applied in the fields of night scene construction, exhibition and festival activities. As the element that is easiest to be captured and felt by vision, light is an essential part of the construction of creative city and gradually becomes a new design outlet in the construction of creative city. On the basis of this, taking China “Dreamy Wuhan” lighting show as an example, the paper analyses the path of light art in the construction of creative city, and also studies the integration of light creation and visual perception. It is expected to enrich the practical research of light art creation in the construction of creative city.

COMMUNITY SERVICE OF AGRO TOURISM IN SIBETAN VILLAGE

The development of tourism in Indonesia in line with the government’s program to promote tourism as an effort to increase foreign exchange outside the oil and fuel sector. One potential alternative which could be developed in the village was agro tourism, which has been started to be developed and many of them were already successfully managed. Rilla, et al (1999) stated that the agro tourism development should be an opportunity for local farmers to increase their income for their family. Two groups that became the partners in this community service were Abian Salak agro tourism farmer group and Kebun Salak agro tourism farmer group in Sibetan village. They were selected as the partner in the activities of this program because they had same problems, namely they had low knowledge in managing their agro tourism and low knowledge in promoting their agro tourism to the public especially for domestic or international travelers who have interest in agro tourism. The solutions that were done by the team to overcome these problems were providing the training of agro tourism management that was attractive and sustainable, assisting the farmer in providing essential facilities to support activities that was offered by agro-tourism as well as their knowledge to take care those facilities, and training the farmer in promoting their agro tourism by using offline media (brochures and joining some activities of tourism festival) and online media (agro-tourism website and the use of social media). The methods that were used in these activities were assisting and training the farmer in managing their agro tourism and promoting them to the costumers. Those problems could be solved and could give a positive impact to the agro tourism management that was attractive and sustainable.

Evaluating the Activities of Festival on Surface Water Quality in Ugep, Cross River State, Nigeria

The study aim at evaluating the activities of festival on surface water quality in Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria. Four streams where identified and water quality analysis was carried out for three days. Four hundred copies of questionnaire were randomly distributed to residents during the festival period to capture the socio-economic variables such as the benefits and the problems that are associated with the festival. The result presented in table one, two and three show a high permeable values above the WHO permeable limit since the result presented in one to three show a high values above the WHO bench mark it’s therefore indicating that the festival has negative impact on the surface water quality in the study area. The result from the socio-economic variables shows that even though the festival has contributed socio-economically to the wellbeing of the indigenous people, there are problems that are associated with festival activities that needs urgent attention. It is on this premise that all the stakeholders involved in the organization of the festival event must provide a mechanism that would avert the impact of the festival activities on surface water quality and other socio-economic problems in the area.

PELATIHAN EKSPLORASI JERAMI MENJADI KARYA SENI PATUNG DI MARTAPURA OGAN KOMERING ULU TIMUR SUMATERA SELATAN

Pelatihan patung jerami di Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Timur merupakan suatu upaya memberikan edukasi dan pengalaman terhadap masyarakat. Di mana diketahui selama ini masyarakat belum memiliki kreativitas dalam mengeksplorasi jerami menjadi karya seni patung. Pelatihan ini merupakan kegiatan festival jerami dengan tema “Sibiduk Sehaluan” yang mana karya-karya patung jerami tersebut dipamerankan selama kegiatan itu berlangsung. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberi pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kreativitas tentang proses pembuatan patung Jerami, mulai dari hal-hal yang bersifat teknis, desain, hingga konseptual. Metode pelaksanaan terdiridari pemaparan materi,demonstrasi, dan bimbingan. Adapun hasil pelatihan selama kegiatan tersebut berlangsung di antaranya adalah; peserta dapat membuat konsep karya seni patung jerami, mengetahui proses dan teknik pembuatan kerangka patung, mendapatkan pengalaman dan pengetahuan cara membuat sketsa dan penyajian karya serta mendapatkan pengetahuan tentang kegiatan pelaksanaan pameran

Ethnomathematics: Exploring the activities of culture festival

This research is an exploratory study to show the correlation between mathematics and culture. These studies have the purpose of exploring culture at cultural festival activities that contain mathematical concepts. This study uses ethnographic methods. Data collection techniques use principles in ethnography such as observation, interviews, documentation, and field notes with original ethnographic descriptions. The result shows that in the activities of the culture festival have the concepts of mathematics, such as transformation geometry, cone wall area, cone nets, Pythagorean theorem, and circumference of the circle.

Community Participation in Festival and Digital Tourism Campaign (Case of North Halmahera District, Indonesia)

Galela community participation in the implementation of the Festival Tanjung Bongo (FTB) shows the existence of a partnership pattern in accordance with pentahelix elements. This research uses qualitative method with case study approach to describe the level of local community participation in preparation of Festival activities and various dynamics that occur in realizing these activities. An in-depth interviews, observation and document studies were implemented in order to generate data. The triangulation techniques were implemented as data validation techniques to obtain credible information. The results of this study indicate that the local government becomes a stimulus for community participation in the planning and preparation stage of the Tanjung Bongo Festival event, although the activity was postponed due to the refusal from the National League for Democracy (LMND eks) executives related to the readiness of supporting infrastructure. On the other hand, the pentahelix element of government synergy, academic, association, community and media becomes the very essential factors in organizing the festival. Meanwhile, the level of community participation can be categorized to achieve the level of citizen control in accordance with Arnstein (1969). Introduction: carnivals, festivals, and pan-Africanism

In any culture, festive events are often far more than simple opportunities to feast and celebrate. They can also be focal points for political or cultural movements, a chance to speak and act in ways that may be forbidden or limited in non-festive times. In the Caribbean, with its particular history of slavery and cross-cultural encounter, festivities were often highly policed, explosive points in the calendar. Slave dances were breaks in the repetitive routine of the plantation, and chances to breach temporarily the strict colonial authority, in which the threat of retributive violence was ever fused with the equally strong need to escape the rigours of every-day life through festive activities.

Relevance of the research topic. At the present stage, non-formal education is aimed at the education and training of students, organized outside the curriculum. Non-formal education provides ample opportunity to deepen professional competencies through innovative approaches. Festivals can take particular responsibility in presenting and promoting themselves as an informal way of educating students who have chosen journalism as a field of activity and future employment. Festival activity today is one of the means of gaining practical experience for students, but among the scientific community it is considered in particular as an art direction and has not been covered in the educational aspect. Participation of students in organizational work on the project allows to improve skills, deepen knowledge and professional professional competences, such as planning and organizing team activities, problem solving, generating new ideas and more. The lack of research on this issue in the scientific literature, the need for professional competent specialists in the journalistic field of activity, the lack of a clear step-by-step model of organizational process construction led to the need to explore festival activity not as an art direction, but as a form of non-formal education. The purpose of the work is to explore festival activities as a form of non-formal education for students of journalistic specialties. The scientific novelty of the obtained results is the analysis of the festival activities as non-formal education of students. On the basis of the analyzed projects, an effective model of organizing student festivals was developed. As a result of the research, the theory was first refined – the concept of festival activity as a form of non-formal education of students was analyzed and formulated. Methods of interaction between formal and non-formal education of journalism students were proposed.

Festival Kuliner Wedang Ereng- Ereng Dalam Rangka Mendukung Desa Wisata Seloharjo

Wedang Ereng-ereng Culinary Festival activity is held in order to support the mandate of Seloharjo village as a tourism village. Based on three natural potentials, namely Goa Jepang, Tuk Surocolo, and Goa Sunan Mas, Wedang Ereng-ereng is expected to become a typical culinary attraction. This festival is intended as an internal and external promotion effort as well as to make Wedang Ereng-ereng as the tourism icon of Seloharjo. The festival activity is carried out in four stages, namely: preparation, socialization, festival implementation, and follow-up plans. The community is involved in all stages as the main actors of Seloharjo tourism development. This festival has succeeded in making people aware of the potential and opportunities of Wedang Ereng-ereng as a source of community income.

Sacralization of Everyday Cultural Practices

The concept of ‘cultural practices’ makes it possible to explore the behavior of the individual in the different socio-cultural coordinates, to search a complex set of value-meaning installations, to study the sign-symbolic system, ways of communication, as well as artistic realities of everyday life. The article considers the content of such new cultural practices as culinary practices, night cultural and entertainment practices, participation in festive activities (Kyiv City Day, Independence Day, embroidery holiday, borsch, dumplings, Bouquet Kyiv Stage, etc.). These projects capture the transformation of the individuals’ value orientations in the styles of mass behavior, focusing on such important attributes as the sacralization of everyday life. In the article, the methodology for the study of cultural practices is systematized: cultural studies, cultural studies of everyday life, ‘meta-practice’ of everyday life of M. Epstein, outlined the strategy of sacralization in new cultural practices.
