Students’ Opinion on the Implementation of an Integrated Teacher Education Programme According to National Education Policy 2020

Education plays a key role in shaping and developing student’s intellect skillset that leads them to be independent thinkers prepares them for future challenges. The present study aimed to determine the Opinion on the Implementation of an Integrated Teacher Education Programme According to National Education Policy 2020 among the College Students in Krishnagiri District. The present study belongs to the Normative Survey Method and the size of the sample was 414 College Students. Stratified Random Sampling Technique was followed to select the sample. The Statistical techniques used in this study were Mean, Standard Deviation, and ’t’-test to analyze the data. The salient findings of the study were (i) The Opinion on the Implementation of an Integrated Teacher Education Programme According to NEP 2020 among the College Students is found to be high (ii) The Female students are significantly higher than the Male students towards their Opinion on the Implementation of an Integrated Teacher Education Programme According to NEP 2020 (iii) The Opinion on the Implementation of an Integrated Teacher Education Programme among Urban students is at the forefront compared to Rural Students.

Differential Influence of Demographic Factors on Academic Stress of Higher Secondary School Students of Kerala

This descriptive study aimed to find out the differential influence of selected socio-demographic factors like gender, type of family, birth order, socio-economic status and the type of school management on academic stress of higher secondary school students of Kerala. The normative survey method was adopted to collect data from a stratified random sample of 1232 higher secondary school students (Male = 583; Female = 649) by administering the Academic Stress Scale for Secondary School Students and a Personal Data Sheet, both developed by the investigators. The data were analysed by employing independent sample t-test, one way ANOVA and Scheffe's post-hoc test to test five null hypotheses formulated for the study. The result showed that while socio-demographic factors like gender, type of family, birth order, and type of school management has significant differential influence on academic stress of higher secondary school students, the effect of socio-economic status is not significant. Being female student and member of nuclear family are contributory to academic stress among higher secondary school students. The ‘only-child’ experience greater academic stress than the ‘last-born’. The government schools exert lowest academic stress on learners compared to schools in aided and unaided sector.

Techno-Pedagogical Competency among teachers in relation to their attitude towards teaching

The purpose of this study is to determining the Techno-Pedagogical Competency and attitude towards teaching of teachers from selected colleges in Gurgaon District. A normative survey method was adopted in this stage. A sample of 190 teachers were selected from various colleges. The study found that the level of Techno-Pedagogical Competency and the teachers’ possessed a favourable attitude towards teaching. Further, it was found that there exists significant difference in Techno-Pedagogical Competency and attitude towards teaching mean score among teachers with respect to gender, locality, teaching experience and type of institutions. Further, it can be revealed that there was a significant positive correlation between Techno-Pedagogical Competency and attitude towards teaching. Overall, this study provides valuable insights into the current state of Techno-Pedagogical Competency and attitude towards teaching among teachers in Gurgaon District. The findings suggest that the teachers in the region have a good grasp of using technology for pedagogical purposes and hold a positive outlook towards their teaching profession. The results also highlight the importance of considering demographic factors when analyzing teachers’ competency and attitude.

Stress among University Students

This study is an effort to explore Stress among university students. The sample consisted of 50 BED (Bachelor of Education) students and 50 MBA (Master of Business Administration) students from Aligarh Muslim University Centre Murshidabad West Bengal, total 100 students. Normative survey method was used for the study. The study used convenient sampling method. The entitled title is “Stress among University students”. Stress is a universal phenomenon that affects each and every one of us. It plays a crucial role in our lives, as without it, we would lack the motivation and drive to achieve anything. However, when stress becomes overwhelming, it can have detrimental effects on our well-being. The key lies in finding the right balance of stress that pushes us out of our comfort zone and propels us forward. This delicate equilibrium is disrupted when the emotional and physical toll of negative experiences surpasses our body's capacity to cope with them. Excessive pressure and demands placed upon us can trigger adverse reactions, both mentally and physically. Our body's response to change necessitates adjustments on a physical, mental, and emotional level. In addition, other factors may also affect our stress levels. In the end, stress results from a person's perception that the demands made on them are greater than their personal and social resources.

The Role of Monetary Incentives for Enhancing Employee Performance with Special Reference to Selected Financial Institutions in the Bhilai Region

Employee motivation in a competitive workplace is greatly aided by monetary incentives, sometimes known as financial rewards for performance. The economic research claims that cash rewards are a very popular way for organizations and businesses to improve employee performance. Utilizing a normative survey method, the current investigation was conducted. The technique of stratified random sampling was employed. A sample of 123 employees from the Bhilai region was chosen by taking into account different strata of gender, location, and institution type. According to the study's findings, financial incentives have a good impact on employee performance, but employees in the financial institution industry place a higher importance on non-financial rewards. The study's findings about employees' preferences for monetary incentives will help employers and HR managers in the financial institution sector design incentive programs that will motivate workers and improve performance. The study's findings will also be helpful to future researchers who want to understand how different incentives affect employees' performance.

Teaching Profession in Nepal: Attitude and Job Satisfaction of the School Teachers

Quality education is the key factor for overall development of an individual and nation. Quality of education is directly related to competency and dedication of the teacher, as teacher is the main implement or of the educational program. This study investigates the attitude of permanent school teachers towards teaching profession and their level of job satisfaction. Quantitative research design over a sample of randomly selected 200 teachers was used in this study.
 A Likert type attitude scale was prepared and standardized by the researcher on the sample of 374 school teachers of five districts of Nepal and India but this study is based in context of Nepal. Job satisfaction level was measured by Job Satisfaction Scale (JSST-DM) published by National Psychological Corporation, Agra, India. Normative survey method was used to collect required data. Maslow’s theory of motivation based on the needs hierarchy system was used to interpret the findings of this study. Result was interpreted by using z-score norms based on seven categories, which explored that 20.50 percent of the teachers were favorable towards their profession, 46 percent were unfavorable and 33.50 percent were neutral towards teaching profession. Similarly, percentage of teachers found above Average Satisfied on their job was 37 percent, below Average Satisfied was 40 percent and percent of Average Satisfied teachers was 23. Out of which, nine percent school teachers were extremely satisfied and 13 percent were extremely dissatisfied.
 Teachers cannot do well on teaching profession unless they have a positive attitude towards their profession and are not satisfied with it. This study reveals that a significant number of teachers are not satisfied with their profession and do not have a positive attitude towards it. It is imperative that the concerned authorities review the policies regarding salary, facilities and position in the national protocol for teachers in order to bring a positive change in the situation.

Mental Health of Different Types of College Students

Mental health is defined as a state of well-being in which an individual realizes his or her abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can learn and work productively and can make a contribution to his or her community. As mental health of the students, is measured by life satisfaction, positive effect and depression which constitute the two way of viewing the mental health in the positive as well as negative. In this present study normative Survey method was adopted. Higher education students of Chennai District were used as a sample for the study. Data is collected from 822 college students of which Arts and Science college students is 147, Engineering college students is 196 and Education college students is 479 from different type of colleges are involved in this present study. Result of the present study is there is a significant difference between gender, locality, type of institution and types of colleges. The dimensions of mental health is well correlated with each other.

A Study on Anxiety of COVID-19 Workers Son’s and Daughter’s of High School Students

This study aims to examine the COVID-19 workers' Son’s and Daughter’s Anxiety issues of high school students. The researcher conducted this study in Villupuram District in Tamil Nadu. The investigator used the normative survey method to collect the data with a sample of 120 high school students. The collected data was analyzed by using SPSS Software. To interpret the data Descriptive analysis and Differential Analysis techniques were used. From the data analysis, the results that were found by the researcher show that ‘t’ and ‘F’ values are no significant difference in the anxiety of COVID-19 Workers Son’s and Daughter of High School Students with respect to their Gender (Male/Female) and Occupation of Students Parents (Doctor/Nurse/Police/Cleaning work) and The study results mean value shows that 5% of students low level, 36.67% of students average level, and the remaining 58.33% of students show a high level ofanxiety.

Learning Difficulties in Social Studies among High School Students

The purpose of the present study was to study learning difficulties in Social studies among high school students. Normative survey method was used in the present investigation. The sample consists of 200 high school students selected from schools of Coimbatore district in Tamilnadu state using random sampling techniques. The findings of study revealed that gender, locality and medium of instructions had influence in the learning difficulties in Social studies of high school students. Type of family and types of school had no impact in study learning difficulties in social studies of high school students.

A Study on the Attitude of Higher Secondary School Students Towards Drug and Alcohol in Papum Pare District of Arunachal Pradesh

Introduction: Addiction is a condition characterized by a strong desire to continue using a drug to which one has become addicted due to overconsumption because it produces a specific effect, most commonly a change in mental status. A strong desire to obtain the drug, a tendency to increase the dose, a mental or physical dependence, and negative consequences for the individual and society. In today's world, adolescent alcoholism and drug abuse are extremely serious problems. In our country, underage drinking is a major public health concern. Alcohol is the most commonly abused substance among today's youth, and adolescent drinking poses serious health and safety risks. Research Methodology: a. Research Design: Descriptive cum Normative survey method has been adopted for this research. b. Method of the Study: Retro prospective method of research where attempt has been made to study the Drug and Alcohol Attitude of higher secondary school students of Papum Pare of Arunachal Pradesh. Results and Discussion: The Drug and Alcohol attitude Mean Score of 300 school students of Papum Pare District was found to be 75.07. The mention mean score (75.07) comes under moderate and it is interpreted as ‘Average Drug and Alcohol’ level. Hence it shows that School students of Papum Pare district possess average Drug and Alcohol Attitude. The calculated t-value (-4.30) of Male and Female which is less than critical value (1.97) at 0.05 level of significance with Degree of Freedom (2.98). Therefore, the null hypothesis “there is no significant difference between Drug and Alcohol attitude of Male and Female School students of Papum Pare District of Arunachal Pradesh” is accepted. the calculated t-value (-1.61) of APST and NON-APST higher secondary school students is less than critical value (1.97) at 0.05 level of significance with Degree of Freedom 298. Teachers’ attitude towards education for sustainable development: A descriptive research

<span lang="EN-US">Teachers are the torch bearers of sustainable development, promoting social change and maintaining balance between two important concepts development and sustainability. They have a pivotal role in promoting education for sustainable development (ESD) perpetuating social change leading to progressive development and a futuristic growth in the society. ESD is one of the millennium development goals acknowledged globally and need to get practiced widely. Teachers play prominent role in inculcating the knowledge, spreading values, and enriching skills that are needed for sustainability to cope with the change in attributes of workplace. The central theme of the study was to determine the attitude of high school teachers concerning ESD. For this, the normative survey method (N=150) was used to collect data. The data were collected by an attitude scale entitled “ESD attitude scale”. This investigation examined teachers’ attitude towards ESD based on teachers’ gender, subject of teaching, and type of management of the institution. To achieve the objectives of the study, item-based assessment with percentage analysis, t-values and F-values were calculated. Research findings showed that teachers have a favorable attitude towards ESD. Gender and management of the institution were not found to change attitudes towards ESD of high school teachers, whereas the subject of teaching was found to change the same. With these pieces of evidence from the present study, educationalists can reform the existing high school education system for sustainable development.</span>

THE MEANING OF TINGKA RITUALS IN SHIFTING CULTIVATION OF MUNA COMMUNITY SOUTHEAST SULAWESI, INDONESIA

Most of the Muna community are shifting cultivators who are very dependent on their natural environment, so they always adapt and interact with nature. One of the media used to adapt and interact with nature is ritual tingka. In practice, the ritual tingka contains symbolic messages for nature conservation and a form of human appreciation for nature, flora, and fauna as a whole. The objective of this study was to study and analyze the ecological wisdom of shifting cultivation related to land conservation and the form of human appreciation for nature through farming rituals. This study used a normative survey method which was carried out in seven villages in Muna regency, Southeast Sulawesi. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, observation, and focus group discussions. The collected data were analyzed using flow analysis techniques. The results showed that symbolically the tingka ritual was the institutionalization of knowledge of land conservation through agro forestry patterns, namely by combining the planting of trees such as bamboo, areca nut, kapok with food and secondary crops. Ritual tingka is a form of respect for nature to create a harmonious relationship between the microcosm and the macrocosm, so that farmers are protected from various disasters.

Impact of Online English Teaching Awareness among College Students

Computers and cell phones reaching every house hold in urban regions and spreading towards rural areas, e-teaching can be made use to impart teaching. T.V. and Multimedia should be used for Educational purpose definitely a picture is worth 1000 words. Animation technologies and 3D technologies can be used to impart effective teaching. Many difficult scientific and technical principles can be explained easily and effectively using e-learning methods, 3D technologies, animation and Multimedia techniques. Online Teaching is Integrated Communication Technology in a specified area or field. It is the technological development that reflects the new society and has its place within education. With many new initiatives, Online Teaching obviously has its problems that can be addressed over time. Online English Teaching requires the strenuous efforts of the teacher in preparing English lessons and delivering them online. The English Teacher has to update the scientific knowledge in the use of computers for teaching English. The objective of the study was to find out the effectiveness of Online Teaching Awareness among college students. In the present study, the investigator followed the normative survey method. The findings of the study are that the level of Online English Teaching Awareness among college students is moderate and there was a significant difference in Online English Teaching Awareness among college students with respect to Gender and Medium of Instruction.

Analysis of entrepreneurial traits among commerce undergraduate students

The purpose of the present study is to analyze entrepreneurial traits among commerce undergraduate students. In this study, a normative survey method was employed. A simple random sampling technique was used in this study. By giving sufficient weight to factors like gender, type of institution, and locality of the institution, a sample of 200 commerce undergraduate students from two districts of Kerala was selected for the study. An assessment scale titled "Entrepreneurial Traits Assessment Scale" is used to analyze entrepreneurial traits among commerce undergraduate students. The tool consists of 60 items in 12 dimensions, and each dimension consists of five items. The major conclusion of the study was that most of the commerce undergraduate students (65.5%) possess an average level of entrepreneurial traits, and there is no significant difference in the entrepreneurial traits among commerce undergraduate students based on gender, locality, and type of institution.

Manifestations of environmental principles in bridging scientific context, reasoning and behaviour: framework in the development of environmental education programmes in the Philippines

AbstractThis study explored the relationship between scientific context (SC), scientific reasoning (SR), and scientific behaviour (SB) across the environmental principles to show their significance as essential scientific competencies in the development of environmental programmes in the Philippine K-12 curriculum in a process where environmental education has a key role to play. One hundred and seventy-seven high school students from Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro in the Philippines were selected through the cluster purposive probabilistic sampling method. A descriptive normative survey method of research was employed in this study. The students’ SC had a high relationship with their SR, which is a direct indicator of SB. This was a sign that SC, SR, and SB all work together in a continuous way. Findings of this study will serve as baseline information for the framework of environmental education programmes through science, in the K-12 Philippine Science curriculum. So, when students learn things in the real world, they gain environmental effect, which is thought to be a key reason why people act in ways that are good for the environment and an important goal of environmental education.

PHYSICS LABORATORY COMPETENCE AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT IN PHYSICS

The main purpose of the paper is to explore the relationship between Physics Laboratory Competence and Academic Achievement in Physics among Higher Secondary students. The sample of the study comprises of 300 school students (150 male and 150 female) of Higher Secondary class were selected. Normative survey method was employed for data collection. The investigator modified and used the Tool – of Dr. Meena BuddhisagarRathod,RenuMoyadeKotwale(1971). There is no significant relationship between Physics Laboratory Competence and Academic Achievement in Physics. There is no significant difference between male and female Higher Secondary students in Physical Laboratory Competence and Academic Achievement. There is no significant difference in Physics Laboratory Competence based on school type. There is significant difference in Academic Achievement based on school type. There is no significant difference in Physics Laboratory Competence, Academic Achievement based on Father’s occupation.There is no significant difference in Physics Laboratory Competence, and Academic Achievement based on Mother’s occupation

Home environment of upper primary students

The purpose of the study was to examine the home environment of upper primary students. The study was carried out on a sample of 400 upper primary students studying in class 8 in various schools of Kanyakumari district. Normative Survey method was adopted for the study. Home Environment Scale developed by Akhtar and Saxena (2013) was used to collect the data. Percentage and ‘t’ test were used to analyze the data. The result of the study revealed that, the upper primary students have moderate level of home environment. Moreover, they differ significantly in their home environment with respect to gender and locality of residence. No significant difference was noted in the medium of instruction.

Higher Secondary Female Students’ Awareness Towards Social Media Safety Usage

The prime objective of the this study is to find out the Higher Secondary Female Students’ Awareness towards Social Media safety Usage. The present investigation has been undertaken by using Normative Survey Method. Awareness about Social Media safety Usage Inventory constructed and validated by Preet Monk (2017) has been used for this study. The present study was conducted with 200 Higher Secondary Female Students studying in Nagappattinam District of Tamilnadu State. The sample was selected by using Simple Random Sampling Technique. The findings shows that the Higher Secondary Female Students’ Awareness about Social Media safety Usage is moderate. This trend was found among all the sub samples too.

Stress coping ability of parents of mentally challenged children

In this study, an attempt has been made to study the stress coping ability of parents of mentally challenged children. Data was collected from a sample of 200 parents of mentally challenged children studying in various special schools in Kanniyakumari district. Normative survey method was used. The results showed that moderate levels of stress coping ability of parents of mentally challenged children. Also, significant gender, and locality, wise difference are noted in the stress coping ability of parents of mentally challenged children.

Elementary teacher trainees’ multiple intelligence in relation to their academic performance

The study aimed at finding out the relationship between multiple intelligence and academic performance of elementary teacher trainees. The study followed the normative survey method. Multiple intelligence scale and academic performance test were administered to 150 elementary teacher trainees from various teacher training institutes in Ramanathapuram district. The data obtained were subjected to descriptive, differential and relational analysis. The study found that there significant relationship between multiple intelligence and academic performance of elementary teacher trainees. Significant difference is also found between male and female teacher trainees in respect their multiple intelligence. The outcome of the study may have valuable implications for the elementary teacher trainees and the society.
