Exotic Lagrangian tori in Grassmannians

We describe an iterative construction of Lagrangian tori in the complex Grassmannian \operatorname{Gr}(k,n) , based on the cluster algebra structure of the coordinate ring of a mirror Landau–Ginzburg model proposed by Marsh and Rietsch (2020). Each torus comes with a Laurent polynomial, and local systems controlled by the k -variables Schur polynomials at the n -th roots of unity. We use this data to give examples of monotone Lagrangian tori that are neither displaceable nor Hamiltonian isotopic to each other, and that support nonzero objects in different summands of the spectral decomposition of the Fukaya category over \mathbb{C} .

The Doran-Harder-Thompson conjecture for toric complete intersections

Given a Tyurin degeneration of a Calabi-Yau complete intersection in a toric variety, we prove gluing formulas relating the generalized functional invariants, periods, and I-functions of the mirror Calabi-Yau family and those of the two mirror Landau-Ginzburg models. Our proof makes explicit the “gluing/splitting” of fibrations in the Doran-Harder-Thompson mirror conjecture. Our gluing formula implies an identity, obtained by composition with their respective mirror maps, that relates the absolute Gromov-Witten invariants for the Calabi-Yaus and relative Gromov-Witten invariants for the quasi-Fanos.

Decompositions of moduli spaces of vector bundles and graph potentials

Abstract We propose a conjectural semiorthogonal decomposition for the derived category of the moduli space of stable rank 2 bundles with fixed determinant of odd degree, independently formulated by Narasimhan. We discuss some evidence for and furthermore propose semiorthogonal decompositions with additional structure. We also discuss two other decompositions. One is a decomposition of this moduli space in the Grothendieck ring of varieties, which relates to various known motivic decompositions. The other is the critical value decomposition of a candidate mirror Landau–Ginzburg model given by graph potentials, which in turn is related under mirror symmetry to Muñoz’s decomposition of quantum cohomology. This corresponds to an orthogonal decomposition of the Fukaya category. We discuss how decompositions on different levels (derived category of coherent sheaves, Grothendieck ring of varieties, Fukaya category, quantum cohomology, critical sets of graph potentials) are related and support each other.

Cyclic Sieving and Cluster Duality of Grassmannian

We introduce a decorated configuration space $\mathscr{C}\!{\rm onf}_n^\times(a)$ with a potential function $\mathcal{W}$. We prove the cluster duality conjecture of Fock-Goncharov for Grassmannians, that is, the tropicalization of $\big(\mathscr{C}\!{\rm onf}_n^\times(a), \mathcal{W}\big)$ canonically parametrizes a linear basis of the homogeneous coordinate ring of the Grassmannian $\operatorname{Gr}_a(n)$ with respect to the Pl\"ucker embedding. We prove that $\big(\mathscr{C}\!{\rm onf}_n^\times(a), \mathcal{W}\big)$ is equivalent to the mirror Landau-Ginzburg model of the Grassmannian considered by Eguchi-Hori-Xiong, Marsh-Rietsch and Rietsch-Williams. As an application, we show a cyclic sieving phenomenon involving plane partitions under a sequence of piecewise-linear toggles.

Pairings in Mirror Symmetry Between a Symplectic Manifold and a Landau–Ginzburg B-Model

We find a relation between Lagrangian Floer pairing of a symplectic manifold and Kapustin-Li pairing of the mirror Landau-Ginzburg model under localized mirror functor. They are conformally equivalent with an interesting conformal factor $(vol^{Floer}/vol)^2$, which can be described as a ratio of Lagrangian Floer volume class and classical volume class. For this purpose, we introduce $B$-invariant of Lagrangian Floer cohomology with values in Jacobian ring of the mirror potential function. And we prove what we call a multi-crescent Cardy identity under certain conditions, which is a generalized form of Cardy identity. As an application, we discuss the case of general toric manifold, and the relation to the work of Fukaya-Oh-Ohta-Ono and their $Z$-invariant. Also, we compute the conformal factor $(vol^{Floer}/vol)^2$ for the elliptic curve quotient $\mathbb{P}^1_{3,3,3}$, which is expected to be related to the choice of a primitive form.

The Eynard–Orantin recursion and equivariant mirror symmetry for the projective line

We study the equivariantly perturbed mirror Landau-Ginzburg model of the projective line. We show that the Eynard-Orantin recursion on this model encodes all genus all descendants equivariant Gromov-Witten invariants of the projective line. The non-equivariant limit of this result is the Norbury-Scott conjecture, while by taking large radius limit we recover the Bouchard-Marino conjecture on simple Hurwitz numbers.

Doran-Harder-Thompson Conjecture via SYZ Mirror Symmetry: Elliptic Curves

We prove the Doran-Harder-Thompson conjecture in the case of elliptic curves by using ideas from SYZ mirror symmetry. The conjecture claims that when a Calabi-Yau manifold $X$ degenerates to a union of two quasi-Fano manifolds (Tyurin degeneration), a mirror Calabi-Yau manifold of $X$ can be constructed by gluing the two mirror Landau-Ginzburg models of the quasi-Fano manifolds. The two crucial ideas in our proof are to obtain a complex structure by gluing the underlying affine manifolds and to construct the theta functions from the Landau-Ginzburg superpotentials.

The Mori program and Non-Fano toric Homological Mirror Symmetry

In the case of toric varieties, we continue the pursuit of Kontsevich’s fundamental insight, Homological Mirror Symmetry, by unifying it with the Mori program. We give a refined conjectural version of Homological Mirror Symmetry relating semi-orthogonal decompositions of the B B -model on toric varieties to semi-orthogonal decompositions on the A A -model on the mirror Landau-Ginzburg models. As evidence, we prove a new case of Homological Mirror Symmetry for a toric surface whose anticanonical bundle is not nef, namely a certain blow-up of P 2 \mathbb {P}^2 at three infinitesimally near points.

Logarithmic Frobenius manifolds, hypergeometric systems and quantum 𝒟-modules

We describe mirror symmetry for weak Fano toric manifolds as an equivalence of filtered D \mathcal {D} -modules. We discuss in particular the logarithmic degeneration behavior at the large radius limit point and express the mirror correspondence as an isomorphism of Frobenius manifolds with logarithmic poles. The main tool is an identification of the Gauß-Manin system of the mirror Landau-Ginzburg model with a hypergeometric D \mathcal {D} -module, and a detailed study of a natural filtration defined on this differential system. We obtain a solution of the Birkhoff problem for lattices defined by this filtration and show the existence of a primitive form, which yields the construction of Frobenius structures with logarithmic poles associated to the mirror Laurent polynomial. As a final application, we show the existence of a pure polarized non-commutative Hodge structure on a Zariski open subset of the complexified Kähler moduli space of the variety.

Homological mirror symmetry for punctured spheres

We prove that the wrapped Fukaya category of a punctured sphere (S with an arbitrary number of points removed) is equivalent to the triangulated category of singularities of a mirror Landau-Ginzburg model, proving one side of the homological mirror symmetry conjecture in this case. By investigating fractional gradings on these categories, we conclude that cyclic covers on the symplectic side are mirror to orbifold quotients of the Landau-Ginzburg model.

Exact Kähler potential from gauge theory and mirror symmetry

We prove a recent conjecture that the partition function of N=(2, 2) gauge theories on the two-sphere which flow to Calabi-Yau sigma models in the infrared computes the exact Kahler potential on the quantum Kahler moduli space of the corresponding Calabi-Yau. This establishes the two-sphere partition function as a new method of computation of worldsheet instantons and Gromov-Witten invariants. We also calculate the exact two-sphere partition function for N=(2,2) Landau-Ginzburg models with an arbitrary twisted superpotential W. These results are used to demonstrate that arbitrary abelian gauge theories and their associated mirror Landau-Ginzburg models have identical two-sphere partition functions. We further show that the partition function of non-abelian gauge theories can be rewritten as the partition function of mirror Landau-Ginzburg models.

Mirror symmetry for weighted projective planes and their noncommutative deformations

We study the derived categories of coherent sheaves of weighted projective spaces and their noncommutative deformations, and the derived categories of Lagrangian vanishing cycles of their mirror Landau-Ginzburg models. In particular, we show that the derived category of coherent sheaves (B-branes) on the weighted projective plane $\CP^2(a,b,c)$ is equivalent to the derived category of vanishing cycles (A-branes) on the affine hypersurface $X=\{x^ay^bz^c=1\}\subset (\C^*)^3$ equipped with an exact symplectic form and the superpotential $W=x+y+z$. Hence, the homological mirror symmetry conjecture holds for weighted projective planes. Moreover, we also show that this mirror correspondence between derived categories can be extended to toric noncommutative deformations of $\CP^2(a,b,c)$ where B-branes are concerned, and their mirror counterparts, non-exact deformations of the symplectic structure of $X$ where A-branes are concerned. We also obtain similar results for other examples such as weighted projective lines or Hirzebruch surfaces.

Homological mirror symmetry is T-duality for $\mathbb{P}^n$

In this paper, we apply the idea of T-duality to projective spaces. From a connection on a line bundle on $\mathbb P^n$, a Lagrangian in the mirror Landau-Ginzburg model is constructed. Under this correspondence, the full strong exceptional collection $\mathcal O_{\mathbb P^n}(-n-1),...,\mathcal O_{\mathbb P^n}(-1)$ is mapped to standard Lagrangians in the sense of \cite{nz}. Passing to constructible sheaves, we explicitly compute the quiver structure of these Lagrangians, and find that they match the quiver structure of this exceptional collection of $\mathbb P^n$. In this way, T-duality provides quasi-equivalence of the Fukaya category generated by these Lagrangians and the category of coherent sheaves on $\mathbb P^n$, which is a kind of homological mirror symmetry.

Mirror symmetry for Del Pezzo surfaces: Vanishing cycles and coherent sheaves

We study homological mirror symmetry for Del Pezzo surfaces and their mirror Landau-Ginzburg models. In particular, we show that the derived category of coherent sheaves on a Del Pezzo surface X_k obtained by blowing up CP^2 at k points is equivalent to the derived category of vanishing cycles of a certain elliptic fibration W_k:M_k\to\C with k+3 singular fibers, equipped with a suitable symplectic form. Moreover, we also show that this mirror correspondence between derived categories can be extended to noncommutative deformations of X_k, and give an explicit correspondence between the deformation parameters for X_k and the cohomology class [B+i\omega]\in H^2(M_k,C).

MQCD, ("BARELY") G2 MANIFOLDS AND (ORIENTIFOLD OF) A COMPACT CALABI–YAU

We begin with a discussion on two apparently disconnected topics — one related to nonperturbative superpotential generated from wrapping an M2-brane around a supersymmetric three cycle embedded in a G2-manifold evaluated by the path-integral inside a path-integral approach of Ref. 1, and the other centered around the compact Calabi–Yau CY3(3, 243) expressed as a blow-up of a degree-24 Fermat hypersurface in WCP4[1, 1, 2, 8, 12]. For the former, we compare the results with the ones of Witten on heterotic worldsheet instantons.2 The subtopics covered in the latter include an 𝒩=1 triality between Heterotic, M- and F-theories, evaluation of RP2-instanton superpotential, Picard–Fuchs equation for the mirror Landau–Ginzburg model corresponding to CY3(3, 243), D = 11 supergravity corresponding to M-theory compactified on a "barely" G2 manifold involving CY3(3, 243) and a conjecture related to the action of antiholomorphic involution on period integrals. We then shown an indirect connection between the two topics by showing a connection between each one of the two and Witten's MQCD.3 As an aside, we show that in the limit of vanishing "ζ", a complex constant that appears in the Riemann surfaces relevant to defining the boundary conditions for the domain wall in MQCD, the infinite series of Ref. 4 used to represent a suitable embedding of a supersymmetric 3-cycle in a G2-mannifold, can be summed.

Two-dimensional supersymmetric gauge theories with exceptional gauge groups

We apply the recent proposal for mirrors of nonabelian (2,2) supersymmetric two-dimensional gauge theories to make predictions for two-dimensional supersymmetric gauge theories with exceptional gauge groups G2, F4, E6, E7, and E8. We compute the mirror Landau-Ginzburg models and predict excluded Coulomb loci and Coulomb branch relations (quantum cohomology). We also discuss the relationship between weight lattice normalizations and theta angle periodicities in the proposal, and explore different conventions for the mirrors. Finally, we discuss the behavior of pure gauge theories with exceptional gauge groups under RG flow, and describe evidence that any pure supersymmetric two-dimensional gauge theory with connected and simply-connected semisimple gauge group flows in the IR to a free theory of as many twisted chiral superfields as the rank of the gauge group, extending previous results for SU, SO, and Sp gauge theories.
