Improving the Quality of Broiler Duck Carcasses with the Addition of Meniran Plan (Phylanthus niruri L.) Extract as a Feed Additive

The purpose of this research was to determine the improvement of the carcass quality of broiler ducks with the addition of meniran extract as a feed additive. This is based on the fluctuating price of feed 70 – 80% is part of the operational costs and the prohibition on the use of antibiotics requires alternative feed additives that are safe for human consumption. This research was carried out in Juni – August 2021 in Dayu Village, Nglegok District Blitar Regency. The method used is experimental with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The design used is Completely Randomized Design. The result showed that giving meniran extract as a feed additive could improve the carcass quality of broiler duck including carcass weight and carcass percentage and dit not have a significant effect on slaughter weight. It is recommended to use meniran plan extract level 3% to improve the carcass quality of broiler ducks.

Procurement and Operation Technical For Meniran (Phyllanthus Niruri) Extraction Equipment

At this time the government prohibits the use of antibiotics in animal feed as a growth promoter (AGP) or antibiotic, so an effective and safe immunomodulator and herbal growth stimulant product are needed through Meniran extract products (Phyllantus niruri) and chemicals in the market are not yet optimal as immunomodulators and growth stimulants. CV. Maxipro Agrosatwa which is engaged in veterinary medicine, wholesale trade of agricultural products, and other live animals will produce feed using Meniran extract products. Extraction equipment that is needed is a Rotary vacuum evaporator. This equipment is needed to separate the solvent from the solute without high heating which will damage the solute content. The vacuum condition in the flask is to make the separation more efficient as well as accelerate the separation of the solvent from a solution by reducing the boiling point. The rotation of the flask is to increase evaporation. The complexity of this equipment is what makes CV. Maxipro Agrosatwa cannot handle it alone and requires technical assistance from the Department of Mechanical Engineering (JTM) FT UNS. Technical assistance provided by JTM FT UNS is in the form of procurement, delivery, installation, operation, and maintenance of the rotary vacuum evaporator.

Performance of Broiler Chicken Carcass Provided with Water Extract (Phyllanthus niruri L) and Moringa (Moringa oleifera Lam)

This study aims to determine the performance of broiler carcasses given meniran and moringa extracts. The research was conducted for 28 days at the Animal Husbandry Practice Unit (UPT) of the Karanganyar Animal Husbandry Academy. The material used was 60 broiler strain Ross strains aged 4 days, kept in 12 experimental units, each unit consisting of 5 chickens with an average initial weight of 95.77 ± 4.79 g. The first treatment (T0) control, chicken without giving meniran and moringa extracts, the second treatment (T1) the chicken was given 5 ml meniran extract per liter of drinking water, the third treatment (T2) the chickens were given 2.5 ml meniran extract and moringa 2 extract, 5 Moringa extracts per liter of drinking water, the fourth treatment (T3) of chickens was given Moringa extract 5 ml per liter of drinking water. The variables observed included drinking water consumption, final body weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, and abdominal fat percentage. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD). The data were analyzed for variety and if there was a significant effect of the treatment, it was continued with the Duncan Multiple Distance Test to determine differences in treatment. The results showed that drinking water consumption, percentage, and percentage of abdominal fat were not significantly different between treatments, final body weight (g / head / day). , and carcass weight was significantly different between treatments. The conclusion of this research is that giving meniran and moringa extracts in drinking water does not affect the performance of broiler chicken carcasses. PEMBERIAN EKSTRAK MENIRAN (Phyllanthus niruri Linn) TERHADAP GAMBARAN HISTOPATOLOGI INFUNDIBULUM AYAM PETELUR YANG DIINFEKSI Escherichia coli

The purpose of this research aimed to prove the effect of meniran extract (Phyllanthus niruri Linn) on layer hen infected with Escherichia coli to reduce inflammation and congestion on infundibulum histopathological view. This research used 20 samples of layer hen. The treatment in this research was P0- (not infected with Esherichia coli and did not treated with meniran(Phyllanthus niruri Linn)), P0+ (infected with Escherichia coli and did not treated with meniran(Phyllanthus niruri Linn)), P1 (infected with Escherichia coli and treated with 10% meniran extract (Phyllanthus niruri Linn)), P2 (infected with Escherichia coli and treated with 20% meniran extract (Phyllanthus niruri Linn)), P3 (infected with Escherichia coli and treated with 30% meniran extract (Phyllanthus niruri Linn)). The data of this study analyzed by Kruskal-wallis and followed with Mann-withney test. The result of this research can be concluded that 10% concentration of meniran extract (Phyllanthus niruri Linn) was effective to eliminate Escherichia coli, 20% concentration of meniran extract (Phyllanthus niruri Linn) able to promote antibacterial activity, and 30% concentration of meniran extract shown antibacterial rate on high potential so it can be used to reduce inflammation and congestion as the result of Escherichia coli infection.

Optimization Of Broiler Production And Immune Response Through Giving Meniran (Phyllanthus Niruri L) And Sambiloto (Andrographis Paniculata) Extracts After Nd Vaccination

This study aims to determine the effect of differences in herbal composition of meniran and sambiloto extracts on the production and immune response of chicken broilers. The study was conducted at the Karanganyar Animal Husbandry Academy. The study used 60 broiler chicken divided into 4 treatment groups and 3 repeat treatments. The treatment applied was the composition of meniran and bitter with oral as much as 300 mg / kg body weight, including: T0 (Control): without of meniran and sambiloto extracts, T1: giving of meniran and sambiloto extract with a composition of 75: 25%, T2: giving of meniran and sambiloto extract with a composition of 50: 50%, T3: giving of meniran and sambiloto extract with a composition of 25: 75%. The design used is a complete random design. The parameters observed include 1. production display includes feed consumption, final body weight, carcass percentage, and abdominal fat; 2. immune responses include ND titers, and lymphocytes. Production display data were analyzed using analysis of variance, antibody titers and lymphocytes were reported descriptively. Based on the results of the analysis of the giving of meniran and sambiloto extracts with different compositions did not affect the consumption of drinking water, feed consumption, final body weight, and carcass percentage. The percentage of abdominal fat is influenced by differences in the composition of the meniran and sambiloto extract (sig. 0.023). ND titers from day 0 to day 21 after being vaccinated reached protective numbers, while on day 28 the ND titers decreased. Giving more meniran extract (75: 25%) has a higher titer than controlled group. Lymphocyte counts during the study were under normal conditions for all treatments. It was concluded that differences in the composition of meniran and bitter extract affect the percentage of abdominal fat, but did not affect the final body weight and percentage of carcass. PENGARUH PEMBERIAN DOSIS EKSTRAK MENIRAN (Phyllanthus niruri L) TERHADAP TITER ANTIBODI NEWCASTLE DISEASE DAN AVIAN INFLUENZA PADA BROILER JANTAN

This study was intended to know the effect of meniran (Phyllanthus niruri L) extract as an immunomodulator against avian influenza (AI) and newcastle disease (ND) antibody titers in male broilers, which was conducted in April 2019 to May 2019 at the Integrated Field Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. Analysis of antibody titers was carried out at the Lampung Veterinary Virology Laboratory in Lampung. This study used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and five replications, those were drink water without Phyllanthus nirurilinn extract (P0), drink water with 1.5 mg/kg BW/day Phyllanthus niruri linn extract (P1), drink water with 3 mg/kg BW/day Phyllanthus niruri linn extract (P2), drink water with 4.5 mg/kg BW/day Phyllanthus niruri linn extract (P3). Based on variance analysis, the results of this study showed that the application of Phyllanthus niruri linn extract did not significantly affect on ND and AI antibody titers in male broilers. However, based on the average of antibody titer produced, giving Phyllanthus niruri linn extractat of 4.5 mg/kgBW/day can increase the AI antibody titer in male broilers.

Effect Of Lutein from Chlorella pyrenoidosa INK On The Activities And Phagocytic Capacity On Peritoneal Macrophage Cells Of Mice Infected With Staphylococcus aureus

Chlorella pyrenoidosa is a microalgae that produce lutein compounds that can stimulate an immune response. This study examined the crude lutein extracted from biomass C. pyrenoidosa INK as an immunomodulator through observation activity and phagocytic capacity of peritoneal macrophages of mice. This study uses twenty-eight mice were divided into 7 groups each comprising 4 replicates ie Group (I) normal controls, mice were untreated(II) a negative control, mice were induced by Staphylococcus aureus; (III) positive control, mice were induced by S. aureus and treatment of meniran extract (Phyllanthus niruri, stimuno®). The treatment group (IV-VII), mice were induced by S. aureus and treatment of crude lutein, respectively: 0.058 mg, 0.117 mg, 0.234 mg and 0.468 mg per 20 g of body weight. Lutein crude was given for 2 weeks and the next day the mice were injected bacterium S aureus. The results showed that crude lutein from C. pyrenoidosa INK act as immunomodulators that can stimulate an immune response as the dose increases. Treatment of crude lutein dose of 0.234 mg per 20 g BW of mice showed a proportional response to the positive control treatment (stimuno®). Lutein of C.pyrenoidosa had a positive effect on the the activity and capacity of peritoneal macrophage in mice after stimulation with S. aureus bacteria.

Immunomodulatory Activity Test of Syrup Dosage Form of Combination Phyllantus niruri Linn. And Sterculia quadrifida R.Br. Extract

Meniran (Phyllantus niruri Linn.) is used generally as an immunomodulator and hepatoprotector. Empirically, bark of faloak (Sterculiaqudrifida R.Br.) is used as a medicinal plant to cure diseases such as hepatitis, gastroentritis, and diabetes. The combination of meniran extract and bark of faloak extract has the potential as a natural immunomodulatory agents. Immunomodulators are compositions of either recombinant, synthetic, or natural, which can restore the immune system. Therefore it is necessary to optimize the optimal formula in obtaining syrup preparations which have optimal immunomodulatory activity. The aim of this study was to find out the optimal syrup combination of meniran extract and faloak bark extract to produce optimal response values ​​in the in vitro immunomodulatory activity test with TNF-α and NF-κB parameters, and immunomodulatory activity tests in vivo with activity parameters macrophages. The extract was obtained through reflux extraction. The results of the extract were formulated and approved to determine their ability to induce TNF-α and NF-κB, and in the test of mice balb/b (Mus musculus L.) orally for 21 days. The lymph organs were isolated, rinsed with an RPMI-1640 solution, and analyzed using ELISA reader 450 nm. The determination of optimal formulas is done by using Rstudio v.3.5.3 software with ANOVA test parametric test and using Design Expert v.11 software using the Simplex Lattice Design (SLD) method. The results showed that the formula for the preparation of combination syrup to produce results induced TNF-α and NF-κB, and macrophage activity, namely the formula using meniran and faloak 0.96993: 0.0300704.

Nano-Herb of Meniran (Phyllanthus niruri) as Antibacteria against Escherichia coli

Introduction: Escherichia coli infection cause death and declining production of broiler farm in Indonesia frequently. Its infection occurs systemic and lead to bacteremia. Objective: The aim of this study was to reveal nano-herb of meniran (Phyllanthus niruri) extract capability as antibacterial against Escherichia coli. Methods: Obtained data was tested parametrically using prohibit analyzes. The method for the research was dilution method. Before the substance was diluted, phytochemical screening on the substance was conducted. Results: The result of the screening revealed that meniran extract contains some compounds such as alkaloid, tannin, flavonoid, saponin, and steroid. The result of MIC assay was not capable to be observed due to blackish colour of the extract which covered the medium. MBC assay showed that nano-herb of meniran extract 5% of doze was capable to against growth of Escherichia coli. Conclusion: In conclusion, meniran nano-herb has capability as antibacterial against APEC.

UJI EFEKTIVITAS ANTIDIABETES KOMBINASI EKSTRAK DAUN MENIRAN (Phyllanthus niruri L.) dan KELOPAK BUNGA ROSELLA (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) pada TIKUS JANTAN PUTIH SEBAGAI HEWAN PERCOBAAN

Background : Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease caused by the body's inability to produce the hormone insulin or due to ineffective use of insulin production. Diabetes has become a global problem, DM prevalence of 4.6%, estimated in 2000 amounted to 5.6 million. One of the plants that can reduce blood glucose levels is meniran and rosella which are found in Indonesia. Objective : To determine the effect of decreasing blood glucose levels in white rats using a combination of meniran and rosella compared to glibenclamide.Method : This research was carried out experimentally. Simplicia of meniran leaves and rosella macerated using 80% ethanol. The research used 21 rats that were induced by alloxan and divided into 7 groups and all compared using glibenclamide.Group 1 (negative control) CMC Na 1%, group 2 (positive control) glibenclamide dose 0.45 mg / kgBB, group 3 single roselle extract dose 130 mg / kgBB, group 4 single meniran leaf extract dose 200 mg / kgBB, group 5 combination of meniran leaf extract dose of 100 mg / kgBB and rosella extract dose of 65 mg / kgBB, group 6 combination of meniran leaf extract dose of 200 mg / kgBB and rosella extract dose of 130 mg / kgBB, and group 7 meniran leaf extract combination dose 400 mg / kgBB and rosella extract dose 195 mg / kgBB. Result : The results showed that rats had hyperglycemia after being induced by alloxan.Data were analyzed using one way ANOVA method followed by LSD and tukeys' B post hoct test. Having a difference in the decrease in blood glucose levels between the positive control group and the five doses of meniran extract and rosella where p <0.05 gave a significant effect compared to the negative control group p> 0.05 did not have a significant effect in reducing blood glucose levels. Conclusion : Single meniran extract and high-dose combination extract are more effective than glibenclamide.

CHITOSAN NANOPARTICLE AS A DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR POLYPHENOLS FROM MENIRAN EXTRACT (PHYLLANTHUS NIRURI L.): FORMULATION, OPTIMIZATION, AND IMMUNOMODULATORY ACTIVITY

Objective: This study aims to formulate meniran extract into polymeric nanoparticles. Better stability of active substances in formulas compared to unformulated extracts is expected to increase immunomodulatory activity.
 Methods: Nanoparticles were formulated using ionic gelation method with chitosan and tripolyphosphate polymers. Optimize the mixture of nanoparticles using simplex lattice design (SLD) with the help of Design-Expert (DX) software. Evaluation of particle size and potential zeta using dynamic light scattering (DLS). Interactions between components were analyzed using Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometry-attenuated total reflectance (FTIR-ATR) and morphology of the lyophilization results observed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Immunomodulatory tests using the latex assay method. The parameters tested included phagocytosis index, phagocytic activity, and nitric oxide secretion.
 Results: The optimum mixture of the formulation process was obtained in the composition of chitosan 0.270 %, extract 0.626 %, and tripolyphosphate 0.074 % with desirability value of 0.841. Optimal response with particle size 434.7±3.90 d. nm, polydispersity index 0.285±0.03 and entrapment efficiency 62.98±0.65 %. The zeta potential value in the optimum formula is 11.9±0.1 mV with a positive charge. Phagocytosis index and phagocytic activity of nanoparticles differed significantly (p<0.05) compared with unformulated extracts.
 Conclusion: Meniran extract was successfully formulated into polymeric nanoparticles using chitosan-tripolyphosphate polymer. The developed nanoparticles have the immunomodulatory activity that is better than unformulated extract.

Effect of Phyllanthus niruri Extract on Low Density Lipoprotein of Dyslipidemic White Rats (Rattus norvegicus)

Background: Dyslipidemia is a lipid metabolism disorder characterized by elevated levels of total cholesterol, Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) and triglycerides and a decrease in high-density lipoprotein (HDL). Meniran contains tannins, saponins, alkaloids, rutin and quercetin, which have hypolipidemia effect. Objective: This study aimed to observe the effect of meniran extract on the Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) in Wistar rats, compared with simvastatin. Methods: Thirty-five Wistar rats (Rattus novergicus) were divided into five groups, then all were induced with American Diet 2 (AD2) high fat modification diet for 60 days, except the control group I. Then during the next 60 days, groups I and II were not given any treatment, group III was given simvastatin 0.8 mg/200 g body weight (BW)/ day, group IV was given meniran extract 50 mg/200 g BW/day and group V was given meniran extract 100 mg/200 g BW/day. Results: Meniran therapy 50 mg/200 g BW/day was better in lowering LDL level than meniran dose 100 mg/200 g BW/day. Meniran therapy, which was significantly (p<0.05) better than simvastatin, was meniran dose of 50 mg/200 g BW/day in lowering LDL. Conclusion: Meniran therapy 50 mg/200 g BW/day can lower LDL level significantly. In this dose meniran decreased LDL better than simvastatin.

UJI IMUNOMODULATOR BEBERAPA SUBFRAKSI EKSTRAK ETIL ASETAT MENIRAN (Phyllanthus niruri [L]) PADA MENCIT PUTIH JANTAN DENGAN METODA CARBON CLEARANCE

Meniran has scientific name Phyllanthus niruri L..It uses to increase imun system of human body. Nonspecific of Imun system is first defendent to protect human body from microorganism, because it gives direct respon to antigen then it will destroy bacteria with phagocytosis process. Meniran extract is known can obstruct xanthin oksidase invitro, protect hepatocyte cell of liver from carbon tetrachloride and cytotoxity that induction with galaktosamin.To determined imunomodulator activity of some ethyl acetat extract subfraction of meniran (Phyllanthus niruri [L.]). Some ethyl acetat extract subfraction of meniran (Phyllanthus niruri [L.]) administered orally with single dose 100 mg/kg BB for eight group of subfraction and Tween 80 1% as control for 6 days. After 6 days subfractions have been conducted in white male mice with carbon clearance method. A value of Index Phagocytosis (IF) &lt; 1 has imunosupressant activity and IF &gt; 1 has imunostimulant activity. The increasing of phagositosis index with carbon clearance method showed the effect from each group of subfraction with control was unsignificant (P&gt;0,05). The incerasing of leucocyte cell component especially for limfosit cell, eusinofil, and segmen neutrofil was significant for each group of subfraction (P0,05). TABLET FORMULATION FROM MENIRAN (PHYLLANTHUS NIRURI L.) EXTRACT WITH DIRECT COMPRESSION METHOD

Objective: The aim of the present study was to obtain an optimized formula of meniran (Phyllanthus niruri L.) extract tablets that fulfilled the requirements as a good pharmaceutical preparation based on Indonesian Pharmacopoeia IV and USP XVII.Methods: P. niruri plant was collected and determined at the Laboratory of Plant Taxonomy, Universitas Padjadjaran. First performed phytochemical screening to determine the content of secondary metabolites. Then designed five kinds of tablet formulas of P. niruri extract using a direct compressed method with a variation of concentration of filler. Each formula contains a similar concentration of P. niruri extract as the active ingredient, avicel PH 102 and amprotab with varying concentrations as filler, talcum, and magnesium stearate as a lubricant and Aerosil®200 vv as an adsorbent. Tablet print mass and quality of the resulting tablets were then evaluated. Also, check whether the resulting tablets still contain P. niruri extract as the active substance or not.Results: The results of phytochemical screening of simplicia and viscous plant extract showed the presence of alkaloids, polyphenols, tannins, and flavonoids as secondary metabolites. The five formulas made contain avicel PH 102 and amprotab as binders and crushers and the expected results such as shape and durability as desired. The results of examination of shrinkage rate of mass drying of tablet prints from the above five formulas indicated an increase of value from formula A (5.4609 %) to formula E (5.8600%). This was because avicel PH 102 and amprotab had a considerable moisture content, so with the combination of both fillers could increase the water content from mass print tablets. Real density, compact density, and true density decreased from formula A to formula E. The amount of these densities were influenced by the shape and size of the particles. Flowability increased from formula A (23.7124°) to formula E (26.4210°) whereas compressibility increased from formula A (21.7222%) to formula E (29,4121%). Flowability and compressibility increase might be due to the uniformity of the particle size between the amprotabs and the other additives which could cause electrical charges to the print mass affecting the speed and flow of the print mass. All quality testing results including Weight (mg), Thickness (mm), Diameter (mm), Hardness (N), Friability (%) and Disintegration time (min.) had met the requirements. Thin Layer Chromatography showed that the resulting tablets still contain P. niruri extract as the active substance.Conclusion:. Overall results showed that the formulation fulfilled the requirements as a good pharmaceutical preparation based on Indonesian Pharmacopoeia IV and USP XVII.

EFFECTIVENESS OF MENIRAN (PHYLLANTHUS NIRURI LINN) AS ANTIBACTERIAL FOR RESISTANCE ANTIBIOTICS PREVENTION OF ENTEROTOXIN ESCHERICHIA COLI

ABSTRACT Escherichia coli (E. coli) can be isolated from the environment both inside and outside the hospes body. There were 89 serotypes in which 21% showed resistance to various antibiotics, such as E. coli enterotoxin. Alternative efforts were needed as a substitute for antibiotics, one of them through the use of medicinal plants, such as meniran (Phyllanthus niruri Linn). Meniran plant is an immunomodulator that serves to repair the immune system of the body. The research was done through several stages: isolation and identification of E. coli enterotoxin from several broiler farms in East Java using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method, E. coli resistance test against some antibiotics, making meniran extract and activation test against E. coli enterotoxin The study was divided into five treatments: T0+ (group of chickens were infected by E. coli enterotoxin), T0- (control group, not infected), T1 (infected by E. coli enterotoksin + 20% meniran extract), T2 (infected by E. coli enterotoksin + 25% extract meniran), T3 (infected by E. coli enterotoxin + 30% extract meniran). Data were analyzed by ANOVA (Analysis of Variance). The results were showed that all of E. coli DNA isolates which tested by the PCR method was showed positive reactions at 600 bp. In the next stage, that E. coli enterotoxin are resistance to some antibiotics, such as Amoxicillin, Amphicillin, Erythromycin, Cephalosporins, Tetracycline, Cloxacillin and Gentamicin. Furthermore, 30% Phyllanthus niruri linn extract effective as an antibacterial for the prevention of antibiotic resistance from E. coli enterotoxin.

Effects of meniran (Phyllanthus niruri L.) administration on leukocyte profile of broiler chickens infected with Mycoplasma gallisepticum.

Aim:This study aimed to evaluate the effects of Meniran extract (Phyllanthus niruri L.) administration on leukocyte profile of broiler chickens infected with Mycoplasma gallisepticum.Materials and Methods:Thirty broiler chickens, 21 days old were divided into five treatment groups. P0 (−): Chickens without any treatment; P0 (+), P1, P2, and P3: Chickens were infected with M. gallisepticum 108 cells/ml/animal orally, then given no treatment, Meniran extract 60%, 62.5%, and 65% orally at a dose of 1 ml/kg body weight, respectively. The treatment of Meniran extract was given for 7 days.Results:Leukocyte count with the lowest number showed in Group P0 (−) and Group P3 (p>0.05). Increased number of basophils was found in Group P0 (+), Group P1, and Group P2. The highest number of heterophils was found in Group P0 (+) and was significantly different from Group P0 to P3 (p<0.05). The same pattern was also seen in the number of lymphocytes in all treatment groups. The number of monocytes showed no significant difference between all treatment groups (p>0.05).Discussion:Increased the number of leukocytes is often observed in inflammation due to general infections, trauma, or toxicity. Shifting in the number of heterophile or lymphocytes, an increase in the number of monocytes, basophils, and eosinophils may also be associated with various infectious or inflammatory conditions. Heterophils play a role as an antibacterial defense through several effective mechanisms. When infections and inflammation occur, the heterophils will increase to phagocytosis microbe.Conclusion:It can be concluded that Meniran extract (P. niruri L.) at a dose of 65% can decrease the total number of leukocytes in broilers infected with M. gallisepticum.

An examination on various concentrations of mahkota dewa and meniran extract and liquid organic fertilizer in Centella asiatica shoot growth in vitro

Biofarmasi 14: 47-55. Centella (Centella asiatica L) is one plant utilized as the traditional medicine because it has many benefits, one of which is to fulfill the brain requirement. The aims of this research was to know of media type, mahkota dewa and meniran extract, concentration of meniran, concentration of mahkota dewa, and concertation of liquid organic fertilizer what as well as shoot growth of Centella using tissue culture and filtering (2k design) that is expected it can be screened of the basic media types, organic material types (mahkota dewa and meniran extract), meniran concentration, mahkota dewa concentration and liquid organic fertilizer concentration. This research was taken place in Plant Physiology and Biotechnology Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty of Sebelas Maret University, from November 2010 to June 2011. This research used 2k design with RAL environment. Factor 1: Media type ( ½ MS and MS); Factor 2: Concentration of liquid organic fertilizer (2 mL/L and 20 mL/L); Factor 3: Concentration of meniran 5 mL/L and 25 mL/L); and Factor 4: Concentration of mahkota dewa (5 mL/L and 25 mL/L). Thus, there is 24 = 16 treatment combinations, each of which is repeated three times. The variables observed are shoot emerging duration, shoot number, shoot height, and leaves number. The data were analyzed descriptively. The result of research showed that basic media MS, that basic media MS, POC 20 mL/L, and meniran extract 5 mL/L provided the best explants growth of Centella through in vitro.

Implementation of Meniran Extract (Phyllanthus Niruri Linn) on the Performance of Broiler Chickens Infected by Mycoplasma gallisepticum Caused Chronic Respiratory Disease

Chronic respiratory disease (CRD) of chicken is a disease that has great economic losses in poultry industry in the world. The losses are mainly due to the decrease of body weight gain, feed efficiencies, hatchabilities and increase conversion of the feed, of embryo mortality. The main causative agent of Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) is Mycoplasma gallisepticum. Mycoplasma gallisepticum attacks the respiratory tract, especially in young broiler chickens with age ranged 3-5 weeks. CRD treatment usually uses macrolide antibiotics, because it has proven effective to inhibit protein synthesis. However, it is not recommended to continuously given because the chicken can be resistant to the medicineand leave a harmful reside to consumers. The development of herbal medicine utilization currently is mostly implemented for the treatment of diseases that infected livestock. Meniran plants (Phyllanthus niruri Linn) is one of the plants that can be used as prevention and alternative treatment caused by Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD). Meniran (Phyllanthus niruri Linn) has the content of bioactive compounds that have antibacterial activity, including terpenoids,alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. An In Vitro Antibacterial Activity Test of Meniran Herbs’(Phyllanthus Niruri L.) Ethanol ExtractAgainst Mycoplasma gallisepticum causes Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) in Broiler Chickens

Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) is a chicken respiratory disease that attacks both broilers and layers. Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) has important economic significance in the intensification of chicken farms because this disease can cause huge economic losses. Meniran plant (Phyllanthus niruri Linn) is one of the plants that can be used as prevention and alternative treatment as a substitute of antibiotic caused by Mycoplasma galisepticum causes Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) in broiler chickens. The chemicals contained in meniran include tannins, saponins, alkaloids as antibacterials. The purpose of this study is to determine the activity of meniran herbs’ (Phyllanthus Niruri Linn) as antibacterial to eradicate Mycoplasma galisepticum. The method of this study is dilution method which included Minimum Inhibitory Concentration [MIC) and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC). Minimum Inhibitory Concentration [MIC) was taken by making the concentration of meniran extract as much 65%, 62,5%; 60%; 55%; 50%; 45%; 40%. It was then added Mycoplasma gallisepticum bacteria. The result of this study is Meniran’s activation test on Mycoplasma galisepticum obtained a dose of 62,5% could eradicate Mycoplasma galisepticum causes Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) in broiler chickens. Meniran herbs’ (Phyllanthus niruri linn) is effective as antibacterial at concentrations of 30% against Mycoplasma gallisepticum causes Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) in broiler chickens.
