Penerapan Aplikasi Sicantik Cloud Terhadap Kualitas Pelayanan di Dinas Penanaman Modal, Pelayanan Terpadu Satu Pintu dan Tenaga Kerja Kota Lhokseumawe

The management information system applied in the government is known as the term electronic government (e-government) which is interpreted as the user of information technology transforming government activities with the aim of increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of government administration. SiCantik Cloud is a smart application for integrated public cloud-based licensing services that can be used by government agencies independently. SiCantik Cloud or an intelligent application system for integrated licensing services for the public, is intended for the public to make it easier to manage online licensing. The purpose of this study is to determine the application of the Sicantik Cloud application to Services at the PMPTSP and Naker Office and the inhibiting factors for the application of the Sicantik Cloud application to Services at the PMPTSP and Naker Office of Lhokseumawe City. This study is a study using a qualitative descriptive approach. The application of the SiCantik application to the quality of service at the Investment, One-Stop Integrated Service and Manpower Office of Lhokseumawe City is quite good, as known from several benchmarks of service quality from the Sicantik Cloud application, namely Accountability, Transparency, Effectiveness, and Efficiency. The lack of public awareness of the importance of using information technology means that many people have not been able to optimize the Sicantik application.

A systematic review of information literacy models in Yunnan province’s physical education faculty

This research aimed to explore the concerning characteristics of information literacy in the physical education faculty of higher education institutions in Yunnan Province. This study provides a systematic meta-analysis of 33 peer-reviewed papers from 2019 to 2023. It discusses that information literacy includes basic research skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving, which include their application in the learning process. The paper describes some approaches that can be used to implement information literacy into teaching and learning, including courses with learning objectives, learner-centered approaches, and institutional support. The study also explored technology and its relation to adopting competencies for the growing technologies’ evolution within the region’s education sector. In addition, the following factors could have enhanced the process: time constraints, differences in discipline, and variations in the usage of information technology. The results indicate the need for context-specific professional learning and policy intervention to facilitate the practice of physical education faculty in Yunnan. The information collected here serves as the framework for effective regional policies regarding education, curriculum, and teacher training, among other related aspects.

Escala de actitudes hacia las personas mayores como aprendices y usuarias de tecnologías: evidencias psicométricas

[Objective] Develop and validate a psychometric scale to assess the general population's attitude towards older adults as learners and users of Information and Communication Technologies (PAMTIC scale). [Methodology] A preliminary version of the scale was built based on a systematic review of the literature. In Study 1, the initial version was reviewed by experts and by cognitive interviews. In Study 2, PAMTIC and the validation scales were applied in digital format to 196 people aged between 18 and 85 years. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA), reliability and validity tests were performed. In studies 3 and 4, the final version of the scale and the validation scales in print and digital formats were applied to 1,041 people aged 18-82 years. In Studies 3 and 4, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and reliability and validity tests were performed. [Results] EFA showed 6 factors with good internal consistency coefficients ranging between .80 and .88. CFA confirmed the 6-factor structure and indicated a good fit of the multidimensional model to the data. Correlations between PAMTIC and validation scales provided evidence of nomological validity. [Conclusions] PAMTIC has satisfactory psychometric properties to measure attitude towards older adults as learners and users of Information and Communication Technologies in a reliable and valid way.

Influence of digital technologies on adolescents: a literature review

Objectives: To identify factors in digital information and communication devices that affect adolescents. Methods: A literature review was conducted involving research and analysis in a scientific database. Using inclusion and exclusion criteria, 8 articles were selected, providing significant insights into the topic. Results: The research, reading, and analysis of the obtained results highlighted four main themes: "Side effects of digital technology in adolescence"; "Adolescence shaped by digital technology"; "Digital adolescence: a call for further research"; and "Digital technology: not all thorns". Bardin's recommendations guided the systematic approach of this research. Final considerations: The study reveals various factors influencing behavior and potential risks to the mental health of adolescents as users of digital information and communication Technologies

LEVERAGING INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FOR ENHANCED GOVERNMENT SERVICE EFFICIENCY IN LINGGA REGENCY

This study investigates the impact of information technology on the effectiveness of government services in Lingga Regency, focusing on the role of technological infrastructure, information technology usage, and government policy support. A quantitative approach was employed, using total sampling with 30 employees from the North Lingga District Office as respondents. Data were analyzed using Smart PLS to test the relationships between variables. The results show that both the quality of technological infrastructure and the use of information technology have a significant positive effect on the effectiveness of government services. Furthermore, government policy support was found to moderate the relationship between infrastructure quality and service effectiveness, enhancing the impact of infrastructure investments on public service delivery. However, the moderating effect of policy support on the use of IT was weaker, indicating that IT can directly improve service effectiveness without extensive policy intervention. These findings highlight the importance of investing in both infrastructure and IT, while also developing supportive policies to sustain long-term improvements in government services. This research provides practical insights for policymakers and government officials in optimizing public administration through strategic technology integration.

Teaching and Learning with Technology: Effectiveness of usage of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Facilities in Public Primary Schools in Ondo State, Nigeria

The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in schools is a worldwide requirements meant to replace traditional teaching methods with a technology- based teaching and learning tools and facilities which will assist teachers in their day to day activities of teaching, keeping of records among others. This study aims to analyze the importance of ICT usage to support teaching and learning process in the classroom and also to ascertain the Effectiveness of ICT usage for pupils learning. It also finds out the challenges of usage of ICT facilities in public primary Schools. The findings from the study revealed that computer and internet facilities affected the Educational system better than before. Usage of ICT facilities in public primary Schools will improve the teaching and learning process. The following challenges were revealed from the study: lack of technical support/ Skills, problem of electricity, network issues inadequate ICT facilities in schools among others. It was therefore recommended that the government should give utmost priority to training of teachers in ICT usage. ICT specialist should be recruited and posted to each public primary School to provide technical support to other members of staff, Electricity should be improved upon or solar panels to be provided to schools. Teachers and pupils should be provided with ICT facilities such as educational tablet to improve their ICT usage for teaching and learning.

The impact of teachers' perceived competence in information and communication technology usage, and workplace anxiety on well-being, as mediated by emotional exhaustion.

The 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by the United Nations in 2015, emphasizing the importance of achieving peace, prosperity, and well-being for all people. With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, sustainable health has become an important issue. Teachers were forced to adopt distance teaching, necessitating rapid upgrading of their ICT skills and integration into e-learning, which caused tangible and intangible pressures on teachers and impacted their well-being. This study examined the effects of ICT competence on teachers' workplace anxiety, emotional exhaustion, and well-being during the pandemic from the perspective of Social Cognitive Theory (SCT). A quantitative research methodology and a questionnaire survey with a total of 21 questions were used as the primary research design. The snowball method was employed as a sampling method for online questionnaires from September to October 2021. A total of 216 questionnaires were collected, of which four incomplete questionnaires were excluded, leaving 212 valid questionnaires, with a valid questionnaire recovery rate of 98.1%. The valid questionnaires were analyzed using Smart Pls 4.0 Partial Least Square Method Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The study found that teachers' ICT competence could significantly reduce emotional exhaustion and enhance teachers' well-being. However, there was no significant effect on workplace anxiety. Additionally, well-being was not directly affected by workplace anxiety, and teachers' well-being needs to be mediated by emotional exhaustion to be indirectly affected. Emotional exhaustion plays an important mediating role between teachers' ICT competence and workplace stress, both of which are important mediators of well-being. From a practical point of view, to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, it is ideal to have good health and well-being for the whole person. This study facilitates the development of strategies to improve the well-being of teachers, which provides an empirical basis for the enhancement of mental health and well-being of educators.

The Accountability of Village Fund Management: Study on Villages in the Sub-District of Dempet

Village fund accountability is the responsibility of the village government in managing village funds based on the village fund management law. This study aims to examine the effect of the competence of village apparatus, usage of information technology, community participation, internal control systems, and the application of administrative sanctions on village fund management accountability. The data source is from 62 village apparatus respondents from 16 villages in the Dempet sub-district. Data analysis uses multiple linear regression. The results of this study show that the competence of village apparatus, community participation, internal control systems, and the application of administrative sanctions have a significant positive effect on the accountability of village fund management. Meanwhile, the usage of information technology does not impact village fund management's accountability.

Use of Information Technology on Students' Physical Activity

Physical activity is very important for human health in carrying out daily activities. Sedentary activities caused by playing online or offline games too often, internet, watching television too much will result in the risk of obesity. Overweight is considered a risk factor for various diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension and many others. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence and how much information technology users on students' physical activity at SMA Negeri 3 Slawi. This research uses a quantitative approach through correlation techniques and correlation methods. The subjects in this study were class X students of SMA Negeri 3 Slawi using cluster random sampling consisting of 27 classes with a total population of 558 students categorized as 257 male students and 278 female students. And from the results of cluster random sampling obtained 5 classes with a total sample of 150 students. The data analyzed in this study were Descriptive analysis and Inferential analysis. The results showed that there was a significant correlation between the use of technology (X) and physical activity (Y). This can be proven by the correlation coefficient value (Ry1) = 0.133 with the regression equation y ̂ = 6.123 + 0.007 X. The coefficient of determination shows that r2 = (0.113)2 = 0.176, meaning 17.6%. Physical activity is influenced by the use of technology, so this study concludes that there is a relationship between the use of technology and physical activity.

Successful Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Implementation in Readymade Garments factories in Bangladesh: Case Studies of SQUARE Fashions PLC and Nothern Toshrifa Group Limited, Bangladesh

Bangladesh's transformation into an agricultural nation has resulted in significant foreign exchange earnings from the export of ready-made garments (RMG) since the 1970s. Any RMG firm's main business operations are strongly associated with information and communication technology (ICT). The ready-made garment (RMG) sector in Bangladesh has been facing various challenges to secure a competitive position in the global market, including the improvement of industrial operational excellence. Among the various issues, implementation of ICT is felt to be a common and effective way to enhance operational excellence. A PhD thesis was made on the topic “Application of Information and Communication Technology in the Readymade Garments Industry: A Study on the Bangladesh Market” by the author. To validate the hypotheses and results of the thesis, two RMG firms are chosen to compare their gross sales and net profit before and after the implementation of ICT in their industry. The main objective of the case study is to increase information and communication technology (ICT) usage, resulting in improved operational excellence and increased profit.

Comparison of factors affecting Turkish citizens’ search for online health information before and during the COVID-19 pandemic

BackgroundHealth information consumers can acquire knowledge regarding health problems, combat health problems, make health-related decisions, and change their behaviour by conducting health information searches. This study aims to identify the sociodemographic and economic factors affecting individuals’ search for health information on the internet before and during COVID-19.MethodsIn this study, micro data sets of the Household Information Technologies (IT) Usage Survey conducted by the Turkish Statistical Institute in 2018 and 2021 were used. The binary logistic regression analysis was also used in the study.ResultsIt was determined that age, gender, education level, occupation, social media use, searching for information about goods and services, internet banking use, e-government use, having a desktop computer, having a tablet computer, and region variables were associated with the status of searching for health information on the internet during the COVID-19 period.ConclusionThe main reasons for the increase in health information searches during the COVID-19 epidemic can be attributed to several key factors, such as society’s need for information and meeting its need for information, access to up-to-date health data and increased trust in official sources. The study’s findings serve as a valuable resource for health service providers and information sources attempting to identify the health information-seeking behaviour of the public and to meet their needs in this context.

Citizen attitudes towards e-government services during the COVID-19 pandemic: A case in Türkiye

E-government services are essential to societies because they save time, reduce corruption, provide efficient, low-cost, and fast service, increase transparency, and enhance trust in the government. These applications save time, which translates to cost savings by reducing bureaucratic crowds and fatigue and eliminating the need for citizens to travel for offline transactions. This study investigates various factors related to citizens' use of e-government services according to gender differences during and before COVID-19. The microdata set from the Survey on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Usage in Households conducted by TURKSTAT in 2018 and 2021 was used. Additionally, the binary logistic regression method was employed to analyze these factors. According to the research results, it has been determined that variables such as age, education level, occupation, e-commerce use, internet financial transaction status, number of people in the household, and region are associated with women's use of e-government services during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study found that the significance and impact of these variables on the use of e-government services differ based on the gender of individuals and the periods. The study provides recommendations for IT professionals, staff of the interior ministries, and researchers interested in increasing the use of e-government services. This research may also pioneer efforts to identify priority areas for expanding e-government services.

Household information and communication technology usage and post-harvest losses in Nigeria

PurposePost-harvest losses are becoming a huge issue globally and predominantly severe in developing countries. Food losses decrease farm income by 15% for about 480m small-scale farming households. With technology adoption, particularly, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) usage, minimising post-harvest losses will be more effective, because of its ability to build households’ human development by bridging the information gap.Design/methodology/approachThis study empirically examines the impact of ICT usage on post-harvest losses in Nigeria, utilising Wave 4 (2018/2019) of the Living Standards Measurement Studies (LSMS), Integrated Survey on Agriculture (ISA). The study engages the Logit regression and Propensity Score Matching (PSM) to analyse the data.FindingsThe findings show that post-harvest losses constitute about 38% of household agricultural production. In addition, it shows that the influence of ICT is statistically significant and positive in reducing post-harvest losses.Research limitations/implicationsIt implies that access to mobile phones and the Internet by households helps in developing their human capital through information access, for example, by linking them to the market and enhancing value chain participation. In addition, the implication is that mobile phone and Internet access contribute 1.87% and 2.68%, respectively, to reducing post-harvest losses. The findings suggest that there is a need for the government to improve support mechanisms for ICT usage among farming households.Social implicationsThe study contributes to the society by examining how the well-being of farmers can be improved upon in order to increase their productivity.Originality/valueThe study on the contribution of ICT to post-harvest losses is relatively sparse in the extant literature. Therefore, this study is among the very few to empirically examine the impact of different ICT indicators, using the LSMS-ISA (2019) data and engaging propensity matching, while focusing on the household heads.

Digital Literacy Among Agricultural Extension Agents in North Maluku, Indonesia

This study assesses the digital literacy of agricultural extension agents in North Maluku Province, Indonesia, and its implications for service delivery. A survey of 252 extension agents, conducted from November 2022 to February 2023, employed a validated questionnaire based on five key indicators: Information and Communication Technology (ICT) usage, digital data and information literacy, digital communication and collaboration, digital learning and extension skills, and digital identity and security literacy. Descriptive statistical analysis revealed an overall digital literacy level of 54.3% (SD = 10.8), indicating moderate proficiency. While ICT skills proficiency was high (61%), proficiency in other areas was lower, ranging from 50.8% to 55%. Younger agents and those with higher educational levels demonstrated higher digital literacy. These findings underscore the need for targeted interventions by government and academic institutions to bolster the digital capabilities of agricultural extension agents, thereby enhancing their capacity to leverage digital technologies for effective service provision in North Maluku's agricultural sector.

Information and Communication Technology Usage in School Management: A Case of Selected Hwange District Schools in Matabeleland North Province, Zimbabwe

Apart from the fundamental function of teaching and learning, schools also ensure the realisation of the institutions' aims and vision. This is possible through use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) which has been identified as an essential global phenomenon for efficient and effective schools. Hence, the purpose of this study was to examine usage of ICT in school management in Hwange District. A qualitative approach driven by the interpretivism paradigm was adopted. A case study design focusing on selected schools was employed. Thematically analysed data were collected through semi-structured interviews and document analysis. Findings indicated that the selected school heads mainly used ICT platforms such as WhatsApp, emails and printed documents for communication. Parents, through School Development Committee, provided internet connectivity for easy communication while the school heads used their personal smart phones. The study found that school heads faced various hurdles in using ICT in their management duties. These challenges included lack of resources, inadequate knowledge and skills to use ICT tools, work overload, inadequate funds to acquire ICT hardware and software equipment, lack of appropriate ICT infrastructure, limited internet access and sporadic power supplies. Despite the difficulties encountered, the study concluded that there were visible pockets of good practices in the use of ICT by selected school heads. The study recommended that the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education should capacitate school heads through ICT training. This will result in efficiency and effectiveness of school heads in execution of their management functions.

Abstract: Social media is one form of developing information technology and social media users can share various information through various platforms such as TikTok. TikTok has proven to be an effective platform in promotion and marketing strategies, increasing public awareness and business revenue. Features such as short videos, filters, and creative ads allow users to reach a wide audience. However, it is also necessary to be aware of negative impacts such as gadget addiction and controversial content. Strategies to increase TikTok's effectiveness include engaging content, collaboration with influencers, use of hashtags, and ads such as Top View Ads and Brand Takeover. With the right approach, TikTok can be a very effective promotional tool to increase sales and consumer interaction in e-commerce.

Identification of Digital Divide across Indonesian Provinces: the Analysis of Key Factors

Despite the economic and societal benefits of digitalisation and digital transformation, it is necessary to map country's digital conditions and identify the digital divide to formulate an effective strategy. The digital divide should be measured periodically to monitor progress and determine continuous improvement. This paper identifies the current digital divide among provinces in Indonesia. The study uses the hierarchical agglomerative clustering method based on The Indonesian Digital Society Index data from the Ministry of Communication and Informatics. It also analyses some key factors of the digital divide based on data from the Indonesian Bureau of Statistics using the multiple linear regression model. The results show three types of the digital divide across Indonesian provinces related to access, usage, and outcomes of information and communication technology. Gross Regional Domestic Product per capita, Wage/Salary, Proportion of Formal Labor, and Size of the Working-Age Population are identified as factors significantly affecting the digital divide.
