Abstract

Objectives: To identify factors in digital information and communication devices that affect adolescents. Methods: A literature review was conducted involving research and analysis in a scientific database. Using inclusion and exclusion criteria, 8 articles were selected, providing significant insights into the topic. Results: The research, reading, and analysis of the obtained results highlighted four main themes: "Side effects of digital technology in adolescence"; "Adolescence shaped by digital technology"; "Digital adolescence: a call for further research"; and "Digital technology: not all thorns". Bardin's recommendations guided the systematic approach of this research. Final considerations: The study reveals various factors influencing behavior and potential risks to the mental health of adolescents as users of digital information and communication Technologies
