The relevance of the research is due to the fact that over the past two centuries, the predominance of health-saving technologies in the education system has not been able to ensure the preservation and strengthening of children's health during the period of schooling. For the same reasons, the modern education system has not been able to solve this problem. As part of the implementation of these technologies, students were not considered as subjects of preserving and strengthening their health. The way out of this situation is in a comprehensive approach to solving this problem based on the education of a healthy personality, with the focus on the formation of students' subjective position in relation to the preservation and strengthening of their health. This process should involve various social institutions and the student himself, and create health-forming conditions in educational organizations and in society. The purpose of the study was to identify the level of formation of the subjective position of students in relation to the preservation and strengthening of their health on the basis of education of a healthy person in the educational space, in the process of which various social institutions and the student themselves are involved. The research is based on secondary schools in Vozhegodsky (experimental) and Kharovsky (control) districts of the Vologda region. In the experimental Vozhegodsky district, the developed model of healthy personality education in the educational space was tested. The empirical study was attended by 1825 the students of educational institutions of these regions. The sample for the study was carried out by random selection from lists of students in grades 5-11. Definition of level of formation of subjective position of students in relation to the preservation and strengthening of their health from the list of organizations in the experimental and control municipalities in the sample had carried out a survey using the developed test-questionnaire made up by the method of free choice of the presented answers, proposed N. E. Surkovoy, at the beginning, middle and end of the experiment. The obtained data were compared with objective data on the health status of students in health groups obtained from medical records of children's clinics. Over the period from 2004 to 2018, the indicator of a high level of formation of the subject position of students in grades 5 of Vozhegodsky district in relation to the preservation and strengthening of their health increased by 2.5 times, students in grades 11-3 times; in the control Harovsky district in grades 5, this indicator increased by 1.6 times, in grades 11 – 1.4 times. The number of children with the first group of health in educational institutions of Vozhegodsky district increased by 8.2% during the experiment period. In the control Khar district, the number of children with the first health group decreased by 7.7% over the same period. The obtained data confirm that the introduction of new approaches to the design and implementation of comprehensive programs for the education of a healthy person based on the interaction of various social institutions at the level of educational organizations, rural settlements, municipalities ensure the effectiveness of the formation of the subjective position of students in relation to the preservation and strengthening of their health and improve the objective indicators of their health.
