With the continuous development and popularization of education in China, the pace of expansion in higher education institutions has been accelerating, leading to an increase in the scale of operation and the number of various construction projects in colleges and universities. As education becomes more widespread, to meet the demand for high-quality talent training, higher education institutions must actively improve their infrastructure to provide students with a good learning and living environment. In the context of the increasing scale and number of university construction projects, higher requirements have been set for construction cost management, and implementing effective cost management and control is an important prerequisite and foundation for improving the economic benefits of university construction projects. This article starts from the characteristics and significance of construction cost management, analyzes the problems in cost management and control of university construction projects from the stages of investment decision-making, bidding, construction, and completion settlement, proposes targeted countermeasures, and on this basis, provides rational suggestions for improving the level of cost management and control in university construction projects.

Navigating merits and limits on the current perspectives and ethical challenges in the utilization of artificial intelligence in psychiatry – An exploratory mixed methods study

BackgroundThe integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in psychiatry presents opportunities for enhancing patient care but raises significant ethical concerns and challenges in clinical application. Addressing these challenges necessitates an informed and ethically aware psychiatric workforce capable of integrating AI into practice responsibly. MethodsA mixed-methods study was conducted to assess the outcomes of the “CONNECT with AI” - (Collaborative Opportunity to Navigate and Negotiate Ethical Challenges and Trials with Artificial Intelligence) workshop, aimed at exploring AI's ethical implications and applications in psychiatry. This workshop featured presentations, discussions, and scenario analyses focusing on AI's role in mental health care. Pre- and post-workshop questionnaires and focus group discussions evaluated participants' perspectives, and ethical understanding regarding AI in psychiatry. ResultsParticipants exhibited a cautious optimism towards AI, recognizing its potential to augment mental health care while expressing concerns over ethical usage, patient-doctor relationships, and AI's practical application in patient care. The workshop significantly improved participants' ethical understanding, highlighting a substantial knowledge gap and the need for further education in AI among psychiatrists. ConclusionThe study underscores the necessity of continuous education and ethical guideline development for psychiatrists in the era of AI, emphasizing collaborative efforts in AI system design to ensure they meet clinical needs ethically and effectively. Future initiatives should aim to broaden psychiatrists' exposure to AI, fostering a deeper understanding and integration of AI technologies in psychiatric practice.

Innovative Pedagogies and the Impact of Teachers' Teaching Methods on the Effectiveness of Higher Education in Educating

With the continuous development of new technologies and higher education, innovative pedagogy has gradually become a key issue in teaching reform, and at the same time, it has also become the focus of scholars. This paper analyzes the impact of innovative pedagogy and teachers' teaching practices on the teaching effectiveness of higher education. This paper argues that innovative pedagogy in the context of new technology makes up for the problem of the solidification of the classroom mode in traditional teaching to a certain extent. However, there are still problems such as the difference in digital resources and the lack of communication between teachers and students in practical teaching. Based on this, this paper puts forward the following suggestions. This paper argues that educators need to adapt to the changes of the times and innovate teaching methods to cope with this change. In the new model, teachers need to improve their digital literacy. At the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to students' feelings in digital teaching practice and improve students' learning efficiency.

The Application of Multimedia Information Fusion Technology in the Construction of University Intelligent Libraries

Design and Timeliness Analysis of English Teaching Models in Colleges and Universities Combining Perceptual and Behavioral Correlation Algorithms

Abstract With the continuous development of education, the way English education presents itself has become more and more complex and diversified. This study focuses on the problem of low quality and efficiency in English teaching, and it centers on the characteristics of perception and behavior in English teaching. To collect data on perception and behavior in English teaching, we first utilize the association rule method in data mining technology. Then, we introduce the technology acceptance model and design the English teaching model of “Knowing and Doing” by combining the collected data. The timeliness of the English teaching model in practice is investigated using the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method on this basis. The English teaching model designed in this paper improved by 10.688 points compared to the previous one, and the improvement was 1.307 points in the third month. In the correlation rule analysis, it can be seen that the probability of English grade A (90 or above) is 70.4% when perceived ease of use, usefulness, and learning behavior occur simultaneously. This study proves the feasibility of the English teaching model in this paper and provides a useful reference for the development of the English teaching model in the future.

Research on the realization path of ideological and political education goals in colleges and universities based on Bayesian decision theory

Abstract With the continuous development of innovative education and the growth of the demand for personalized learning, this paper explores the evaluation of students’ learning ability and resource recommendation methods in Civic Education under the guidance of OBE (student-centered, outcome-oriented, continuous improvement) educational philosophy to better achieve the educational goals. By constructing a learning ability evaluation model for Civic Education, this paper establishes a learning ability evaluation and Civic Education resource recommendation model based on Bayesian decision making by using Bayesian Decision Theory’s a posteriori probability for uncertainty reasoning and combining the personalized recommendation function of collaborative filtering algorithm. By analyzing the data of a university’s ideological and political education course in the fall of 2020, this paper not only realizes the accurate evaluation of students’ learning ability, but also tests the model’s effectiveness in learning ability evaluation and resource recommendation. The findings show that students perform well in effective communication, collaboration and independent learning ability, whose evaluation mean values are 0.62, 0.58 and 0.55, respectively. In addition, some students’ learning ability significantly improves after receiving the recommended test questions, with the increase ranging from 34.36% to 36.67%. These findings demonstrate the model’s excellent learning ability evaluation and resource recommendation performance. The research in this paper provides valuable references for evaluating students’ learning ability and resource recommendation in Civics and Political Science education, which can help further improve students’ learning effectiveness and achieve educational goals.

An assessment of equine veterinarian knowledge and perceptions of ticks and tick‐borne diseases in the United States to inform continuing education needs

SummaryBackgroundTicks can harm horses and transmit diseases, making them a growing concern for owners and veterinarians. Veterinarians play a crucial role in providing advice on tick prevention and control. Yet, no research has examined their perspectives on equine ticks and tick‐borne disease (TBD).ObjectivesThe objective was to assess equine veterinarians' experiences, knowledge and practices related to fundamental aspects of tick biology and identification, tick bite prevention and TBD in the United States.Study designThis project surveyed equine veterinarians in the United States about their knowledge of ticks and TBD affecting horses using nonprobability convenience sampling. The survey questions were grouped into six categories: respondent demographics, knowledge of ticks and TBDs, tick control option availability, tick and TBD frequency in horses and veterinary education and information availability.MethodsData were analysed using descriptive statistics, chi‐square analysis and t‐tests. The sample was divided into Northeast and United States veterinarians, and a significance level of p < 0.05 was set. The study aimed to inform continuing education development for veterinarians by assessing their knowledge, practices and perceptions of ticks and TBDs.ResultsThe results indicate that while equine veterinarians know the importance of TBDs in equine health, knowledge on ticks and TBDs varies significantly.Main limitationsLimitations for the current study include potential response bias and a limited sample from many states.ConclusionsThere is a need for increased tick control and prevention options and more animal‐specific resources for tick and TBD prevention. Veterinarians and horse owners require greater education and comprehensive information to prevent tick‐borne illnesses in horses. Collaborations between academia, industry and the human medicine community are suggested to build capacity for training veterinarians.

ФОРМАЛЬНА ТА НЕФОРМАЛЬНА МЕДІАОСВІТА В УКРАЇНІ: ПРОБЛЕМИ І ПЕРСПЕКТИВИ

The article examines the current state of development of formal and non-formal media education in the Ukrainian educational space. A comprehensive analysis of the formal and informal aspects of the media education paradigm is carried out, and the key areas of their development are identified. The formal and non-formal aspects of media education are systematized, taking into account its impact on the development of media literacy and critical thinking of participants in the educational process. The media education experience and best practices of media education activities in formal and nonformal education in Ukraine are highlighted. It is determined that the media is one of the factors in the practical implementation of the theory of dialogue of cultures, and therefore acts as an important social institution of the modern information society. The current state of media literacy of teachers in Ukraine in the framework of formal and non-formal education is analyzed, and it is noted that the problem of media education requires scientific substantiation and the search for ways to modernize the system of professional development of scientific and pedagogical workers. The predominance of non-formal media education is obvious, but the availability and differentiation of media education programs provides teachers with a significant amount of opportunities for the development of personal and professional media culture. A modern teacher should become a generator of media literacy skills for participants in the educational process. Therefore, the value of teachers' media competence is gaining new importance for ensuring continuous education and sustainable development of Ukrainian society.

The Application of Inquiry-based Teaching Method in College Tennis Teaching

With the continuous development of physical education in colleges and universities, the reform of teaching methods has become one of the important ways to improve students' comprehensive literacy. This study aims to deeply explore the application of inquiry-based teaching method in college tennis teaching, and provide innovative teaching ideas for college tennis teaching through theoretical analysis and countermeasure suggestions. Firstly, the thesis reviews the limitations of traditional teaching method in tennis teaching, and introduces the basic concept of inquiry-based teaching method and its successful application in other disciplines. Secondly, through literature review and theoretical analysis, the potential advantages of inquiry-based teaching method in cultivating students' independent learning ability, teamwork spirit and problem-solving ability are explored. Finally, specific countermeasures for implementing inquiry-based pedagogy in college tennis teaching are proposed, including suggestions for instructional design, teacher training, and assessment mechanisms. Through this study, we expect to provide useful references for the reform and innovation of college tennis teaching.

Analysis of the construction status of art classroom field

With the continuous advancement of education, the improvement of educational environment is also being implemented in an orderly manner. An Analysis of the Legitimacy of Home Schooling and an Exploration of Its Path to Legalization in China

With the continuous development and innovation of domestic education, the fervor of home schooling in China has been increasing in recent years, and the issue of the legality of home schooling has received more and more attention. This paper briefly summarizes the social situation of home schooling in contemporary China and explores attitudes towards the home schooling phenomenon in the current Chinese education system.In the face of the denial of the legitimacy of home schooling in Chinas educational environment, the paper analyzes the relationship between home schooling and various laws and regulations under Chinas current legal and regulatory system, as well as the possibility of its future legitimacy. By focusing on the relationship between home schooling and the constitutional right and obligation to education, and analyzing and studying the legalization process of home schooling in the United States and other countries, the study provides some feasible solutions for the future legalization of home schooling in China. The Application Research of Piano Accompaniment in Music Education

Piano accompaniment, as an essential form in music education, plays a crucial role in the music classroom. By reviewing literature and policy interpretations, China has shown increasing emphasis on music education, focusing on the comprehensive development of students' abilities. Employing piano accompaniment to showcase musical works to students, foster an understanding of the emotions and meanings within these works, create a favorable musical ambiance, stimulate students' enthusiasm and interest in music, and evoke an emotional resonance between students and composers. Additionally, it facilitates students' comprehension of music knowledge, broadens their artistic horizons, enhances the diversity of music classes, improves the efficiency of music classroom teaching, cultivates students' correct aesthetic taste in music, and elevates their artistic accomplishment. This paper begins with an overview of piano accompaniment, analyzes its current status in music classroom teaching, and then delves into its application and analysis in music education. It explores the identified issues and seeks effective improvement measures, thereby promoting the continuous development of music education in secondary schools and enhancing the teaching quality of music classes.

Application of Physical Animation and Simulation Technology Based on Multimedia Technology in the Interpretation of Physical Complex Concepts

This paper discusses the application effect and value of physical animation and simulation technology based on multimedia technology in the interpretation of complex physical concepts from the perspectives of theory and teaching practice. First of all, through analysis, understand the application status, advantages and limitations of physical animation and simulation technology in teaching; Secondly, through specific teaching cases and practical experience, this paper discusses how to use multimedia technology reasonably to improve teaching effect and students' understanding ability. Digitalization of Lifelong Education as a Means for Forming Professional Competences of Students

The article is devoted to the study of the role of digitalization in the organization of lifelong education as a means of developing professional competencies in the context of informatization of education. The relevance of the study lies in the study of the system for implementing the effective functioning of the mechanism of continuous education at the university, as one of the effective means in implementing the strategy for the sustainable development of students’ professional competencies. The issues of continuous education should be considered as a multifaceted phenomenon in solving educational and cognitive problems, the essence of which is the formation of professional competence of students in conditions of independent cognitive activity. In this regard, it is especially important that students, mastering knowledge and methods of obtaining it, realize that independent work on writing scientific papers is designed to fulfill the tasks of all other types of educational work, since no knowledge that has not become the subject of one’s own activity can be considered a true property of professionalism and competence. Considerable interest in the development of continuous education allows us to conclude that the topic of the formation of professional competencies is in demand in the conditions of informatization of education. The article develops recommendations on the formation of professional competence of students in the context of digitalization of education, as a form of active organization of the “culture of educational and labor activity of a student”.

The system of continuous design education in Ukraine in the context of higher education modernization

Continuous education is characterized by a constantly evolving complex of innovative pedagogical knowledge presented in the context of modernizing higher education in Ukraine. It has determined the relevance of the proposed research. The article aims to establish the effectiveness of introducing a range of educational components of continuous design education into pedagogical courses, perceived as innovations in education, to identify the problems of motivation and integration of the idea of continuous design education into the professional activities of educators. Several planning aspects of education modernization have been identified (attitude of educators towards innovation, anxious use of innovation in design education, external difficulties in introducing innovation in continuous education, innovative pedagogical practices, and readiness for modernization of design education in the higher education space). The study conducted comprehensive research, applying the method of pedagogical experiment. Surveys, observation, and experimental methods were used to diagnose the effectiveness of modernizing design education among educators in this field. The central hypothesis is that continuous courses in design education and self-education activities related to innovations in university education actively contribute to the popularization of continuous education in creative sectors of the national economy and anticipate their integration into the teaching activities of higher education staff. This research proves that programs of continuous training of specialists in design education and educational courses associated with innovation are effective and make it possible to use innovation in their professional practice. Further perspective is to investigate the development of continuous education in the territory of Ukrainian higher education.
