Abstract
The article presents the publication of L. Liskovska, which describes examples of general technical training of younger schoolchildren, which was carried out by educators of orphanages in the Sumy region at the beginning of the second half of the 20th century. The author described the forms of work of educators in classrooms with different materials, which contributed to the acquisition of practical skills and creative thinking in schoolchildren. Industrial excursions are evaluated as a good practice for consolidating theoretical knowledge and a component of the work education.The article describes the work of L. Lubkova, a teacher at the Putivl orphanage No. 2, who teaches sculpting. Teaching sculpting is described as an effective means of cultivating perseverance, instilling artistic taste, observation, and a sense of form.The work of the teacher of the Okhtyr Special Children’s Home H. Pavlenko, who teaches children to work with paper, cardboard and cartoning and binding, is presented.The meaning of the application work used by the teacher of the Romen orphanage No. 2 G. Vovkogon,was analyzed. Pupils develop their imagination and taste with the help of these classes.The work of sewing instructor V. Babintsev, who works in Putivl orphanage No. 1, is described. The article states that sewing and needlework develop children's finger speed and dexterity, inculcate a number of household skills and prepare them for learning sewing in senior classes, develop corner. The author pays attention to skillfully organized work on wood and building materials. Children acquire such skills at the Lebedyn Special orphanage.Attention is drawn to the technical creativity of pupils, which develops during classes in technical circles on the study of cars, photos, and airplane models.L. Liskovska notes that work training has a huge educational value, promotes a close connection with life, with practical activities in the future.
