Abstract
Michael Gorman's fear of a new Dark Age of Electronic Tyranny is overstated, and the response of libraries to the technological revolution has not been as timid as Harris and Hannah suggest. Both commentators are criticized for engaging in a rather sterile debate. The real issues revolve around the convergence of paradigm-level changes in science, management, and global electronic information systems.
