Abstract

The divans of classical Turkish literature poets are important works in which idioms can be seen very often. The Divan of the poet of 16th century Emri who dead in 1575 is noteworthy in terms of abundance. In this article, it was found that 541 different idioms had been used 1031 times in the aggregate. The place of idioms in Divan was brought out, examples were given for some idioms. The features of idioms that the poet used and the meanings of had been introduced.
