A Study on the Integration of Big Data With Information Retrieval Technology in the Construction of Translation Talent Pools

This paper conducts a corresponding study on the construction of a translation talent pool internally through the context of information retrieval technology. It first discusses the current state of development of information retrieval technology in various countries in the present era and the current social development of information retrieval technology. A model of the system is constructed by basing it on information retrieval technology. The system model of information retrieval technology combined with the optimisation problems associated with translation talent pools is also investigated, incorporating a factorisation algorithm. The results of the study show that the system model of big data combined with information retrieval technology has good application in concrete practical applications after modelling and performing internal upgrading.

The Quality of Master of Translation and Interpreting Education Abroad: History, Problems and Implications

After more than a decade of development, the scale of Master of Translation and Interpreting (MTI) education has continuously expanded, yet its teaching and management have also revealed several issues that have affected the quality of cultivating translation talents. This article outlines the development history of MTI education abroad, pointing out the dilemmas and problems it faces, such as lagging curriculum settings, inadequate faculty resources, and insufficient practical ability training. To address these issues, the article puts forward several key insights: first, MTI education should keep up with industry development; second, it should focus on enhancing practical abilities and strengthening professional awareness of students; third, it is necessary to strengthen the construction of faculty resources and improve teaching quality. These insights serve as significant references for improving the quality of MTI education in China.

MADM framework based on interval-valued neutrosophic aczel-alsina power average operator and application to translation teaching quality evaluation of college English

The huge demand for translation talents has prompted the universities to focus on improving the quality of translation teaching. As a necessary means to improve the quality of teaching, translation teaching quality evaluation plays a role in guiding, regulating and managing translation teaching, which is an important part of translation teaching. The translation teaching quality evaluation of college English is viewed as the multiple attribute decision making (MADM). The interval-valued neutrosophic sets (IVNSs) are used as an effective tool for characterizing uncertain information during the translation teaching quality evaluation of college English. In this paper, interval-valued neutrosophic number (IVNN) Aczel-Alsina power average (IVNNAAPA) operator is proposed based on the classical Aczel-Alsina operator and power average (PA) operator. Then, IVNNAAPA operator is employed to cope with MADM problem. Finally, the numerical decision example for translation teaching quality evaluation of college English is employed to illustrate the produced method and some comparative models are used to prove the effectiveness of the IVNNAAPA method.

Analysis of the Application of Case-Based Teaching Method in Translation Teaching

With the continuous deepening of China’s opening-up policy and the increasingly close cultural exchanges among countries, the demand for translation talents has been gradually increasing during the stage of international communication. Cultivating high-quality and practical translation talents has become a key focus in the current field of education. Therefore, in translation teaching, it is necessary to pay attention to the introduction of case-based teaching methods, enhance the practical characteristics of translation activities, and adapt to the current changes in the international situation. This article mainly expounds on the advantages of the case-based teaching method in translation teaching and proposes the application direction of this teaching method in practical activities for reference by relevant personnel.

Optimization of Cultivation Path of English Translation Talents in Colleges and Universities Based on ADDIE Model

Abstract The integration of technology, practice, and theory in training English translation talent in higher education presents a significant challenge. This study applies the ADDIE model to refine this training pathway, aligning with contemporary developmental needs. Using AHP and CRITIC methods, we established a robust evaluation index for training English translation talent. A comprehensive survey involving students and faculty evaluated the training’s effectiveness using the TOPSIS method. Results indicated a notable increase in student satisfaction post-optimization, particularly among seniors, and intermediate-level faculty provided higher ratings. Graduates from 2022 reported an increase in average salary compared to their 2021 counterparts, with over 50% earning between 10k-15k, underscoring the enhanced quality and marketability of the training approach.

This article explores the current situation, implementation path, and key technologies of standardization in Chinese traditional medicine translation, and proposes some thoughts on the implementation path of standardization. This includes establishing translation standards for Chinese traditional medicine majors, strengthening the cultivation of translation talents, establishing a standard library for Chinese traditional medicine translation, and promoting standardized practices in Chinese traditional medicine translation.

An Exploration of Innovative Ways to Cultivate Translation Talents in Application-Oriented Undergraduate Colleges Based on OBE Concept

Purpose - In the new era, the demand for foreign language translation talents in universities is also changing. However, the original training model of translation talents is outdated and unable to cope with various new problems. This thesis aims to study how to train translation talents in the current environment, improve students’ practical ability, and cultivate translation talents with innovative thinking.
 Design/Methodology/Approach - Guided by the concept of OBE, this thesis aims to explore the innovative methods of training foreign language translation talents in application-oriented undergraduate universities. This paper provides new solutions from the aspects of target orientation, process construction, teaching methods, etc., in order to provide new ideas for the training of high-quality translation talents under the new situation.
 Findings - Through the research, this paper finds that there are problems in the training of foreign language translation talents in application-oriented undergraduate colleges and universities, and on this basis, puts forward feasible innovative ways and carries out practice. We adhere to the student-oriented, constantly improve the teaching ideas and methods, and have achieved remarkable results.
 Research Implications - It provides a reference case for similar or similar courses and personnel training model, and provides a good foundation for Shandong Province and even the whole province to export professionals who adapt to the new situation.

Exploring the Strategy of Informatization Cultivation of English Translation Talents in Civil Aviation Industry under the Perspective of Ecological Translation Studies

Abstract From the perspective of ecological translation, the “three-dimensional conversion” method of civil aviation terminology is proposed to help improve the accuracy of civil aviation English terminology translation. The strategy of cultivating civil aviation English translation talents is provided by three means: enhancing the awareness of ecological translation aesthetics, multicultural literacy, and innovative cultivation modes. Based on the QFD method under the TRIZ theory, the quality evaluation model of civil aviation English translation talent cultivation is constructed, and the degree of talent cultivation demand is calculated. Construct an information technology training platform for English translation talents in the civil aviation industry, focusing on four aspects: system function, innovation theory learning, innovation theory application, and innovation achievement evaluation. The effects of the civil aviation English translation talent cultivation model and quality evaluation are analyzed separately. According to the findings, the innovative civil aviation English translation talent cultivation model achieves scores of 0.68, 0.77, 0.46, 0.7, and 0.41, and is more effective than the traditional talent cultivation model. In the quality evaluation of civil aviation English translation talent training, all 19 indexes scored above 5 points, indicating that the quality of talent training is better and can deliver a number of high-quality English translation talents to the civil aviation industry.

Analysis of the Current Situation and Trends of Medical Translation Research in China

Medical translation is an interdisciplinary research direction between medicine and translation, with both theoretical and practical value. This study is based on the CNKI core paper database, utilizing the CiteSpace knowledge graph visualization tool and Excel data analysis. A systematic literature review method is used to sort out 1764 articles in Chinese medical translation related journals from 2001 to 2022, in order to clarify the research content and characteristics of medical translation. A dynamic econometric analysis was conducted on the current status and trends of medical translation research in the past two decades, and the results showed that: 1) Chinese medical translation research has shown an overall upward trend in the past two decades. 2) The research direction of influential authors in Chinese medical translation research is mostly traditional Chinese medicine translation, with research institutions mainly being universities of traditional Chinese medicine, and research achievements in Western medicine translation account for a relatively small proportion. 3) The main focus of Chinese medical translation research is the English translation of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) terms. From the perspective of highlighted words, corpus and medical translation talent cultivation have been cutting-edge topics in recent years, and it is predicted that they will continue to grow in popularity in the future.

Study on the Cultivation Path of Translation Talents for Water Industry

China’s water industry’s increasing international cooperation calls for more translation talents in the field. This paper probes into cultivating translation talents for water industry, and puts forward some suggestions on the cultivation path, namely, optimizing the cultivation curriculum, enriching the courses, strengthening translation practice, improving the teaching staff, and establishing evaluation system. It is of great significance in strengthening international cooperation of China's water industry, and promoting China's water industry’s voice.

The Application and Research of Translation Studios in the Development of MTI at Polytechnic University

As exchanges with the global community continue to increase, the translation field presents significant challenges that capture the attention of researchers. The new era demands a reform in the traditional approach to cultivating translation talents. Particularly, the form and quality of practical teaching need improvement to adapt to the changing demands of the market. University translation studios can to some extent compensate for the shortcomings of traditional classroom teaching and workshop-style practical training at Polytechnic University. Taking the author's own university as an example, this paper explores the significance, feasibility, and operational model of the university translation studio. The paper concludes that the purpose of the university translation studio is to enhance students' translation skills, application of translation techniques, project management, professional demeanor, task handling, and teamwork capabilities. This kind of studio elevates the ability of both faculty and students to serve the local community and society, thereby making a positive contribution to the comprehensive development of the North China Electric Power University's Master of Translation and Interpreting program.

An informative teaching model of English-Chinese translation in universities based on the perceptual machine model

Abstract With the development of globalization, there is an increasing demand for English-Chinese translation talents in the country and society. In this paper, a text classifier based on multilayer perceptron is proposed, an MLP structure containing two layers of feedforward neural network is designed for the characteristics of English-Chinese translation corpus, the training samples are selected with text height mainly below 60 pixels, and the best sliding window of 13×13 is selected by comparison, supplemented by the smoothing method of mathematical morphology. The constructed MLP-based information-based teaching model is then applied to teaching English-Chinese translation in colleges and universities and is mainly evaluated in terms of student evaluation and teaching effectiveness. There were 28.48 percentage points more English-Chinese translation students who thought the class was more interesting than the original, while 20.56% and 20.50% more students evaluated the class as more helpful and less helpful, respectively. The average score of English-Chinese translation students increased by 15.88% compared to the original one through the comparison test between traditional and informational teaching modes. The MLP-based informatization teaching can mobilize students’ enthusiasm to participate in English-Chinese translation learning, strengthen the guidance of translation methods, and improve students’ translation levels.

Exploring English-Chinese Translation Skills Based on Big Data Technology

Abstract This paper first explores and evaluates English-Chinese translation skills through deep learning in machine learning based on big data technology, focusing on applying convolutional neural networks and long and short-term memory network models in English-Chinese translation. Then it is to construct a deep learning evaluation model based on the dataset with text-level labels of English-Chinese translation. The structure of the deep learning evaluation model consists of three categories: data representation of text, feature extraction of text, and text classifier. Finally, the research object is determined from the purpose of the study, and the data analysis is performed on the experimental and control groups using the deep learning model to characterize the fluency by the continuous convergence of the data. The results showed that the continuous convergence of the experimental group remained in the range of 76.95% to 82.6%, and its average value was 79.76%. The continuous convergence of the control group remained in the range of 60.15% to 71.92%, with a mean value of 67.02%. The average convergence value of the experimental group was 12.74% higher than that of the control group, and the experimental group outperformed the control group. This study should learn and cultivate English-Chinese translation skills while improving the efficiency and accuracy of English-Chinese translation, which is a guiding reference value for the progress of translation talents.

Research on innovative cultivation mode of English and American literature translation talents based on internet environment

Abstract English and American literature translation can help readers appreciate foreign cultures and deepen their interpretation and knowledge of English and American literature. In order to solve these problems and find the appropriate strategies for translating talents from English and American literature. In this paper, we will analyze this specifically, meet the requirements of training translation talents, combine the development of our country and our own background, and create a new training mode according to the Internet environment, so as to strengthen the training of talents. At the same time, the idea of constructing the teaching and composite innovative talents cultivation model of environmental ecology courses under the background of Internet big data is proposed, and the characteristics and functions of the innovative teaching and talents cultivation model are analyzed. The ultimate goal is to cultivate outstanding talents with a sense of family, global vision, innovation and practical ability, and to promote their application through teaching salons and symposiums. With the use of this model, the current environment of the Internet has been innovated in the innovative mode of talent training, and the corresponding training methods have created the best learning space for students and improved their ability to read original English and American texts and translate their works.

On Task-based Approach in Translator Training

With the advancement of globalization, market demand for versatile translation talents has expanded, which makestraditional teaching approaches less likely to meet market requirements than task-based teaching. This approach shiftsthe focus from teaching to learning. However, a systematic review of task-based teaching in translator training needsto be done, particularly a simultaneous analysis of its merits and demerits. As the key to appropriately applying thisapproach is to consider its merits and demerits, the current study adopted bibliometric analysis to analyze relevantjournal articles from the Web of Science. The results implied that task-based teaching could help cultivate versatiletranslation talents through careful design (e.g., tasks). Furthermore, its merits outnumbered its demerits. The currentstudy can provide a reference for future research on the role of task-based teaching in translator training.

GRA method based on cumulative prospect theory for MCGDM with IVNSs and applications to college English translation teaching quality evaluation

The huge demand for translation talents has prompted the universities to focus on improving the quality of translation teaching. As a necessary means to improve teaching quality, translation teaching quality (TTQ) evaluation plays a role in guiding, regulating and managing translation teaching, and is an important part of translation teaching. The TTQ evaluation of college English is affirmed as multi-criteria group decision-making (MCGDM). The purpose of this article is to proposed a new improved grey relation analysis (GRA) method based on cumulative prospect theory (CPT-GRA) to solve the MCGDM under IVNSs. At the end of this paper, an example for TTQ evaluation of college English is illustrated through the built method and the comparison of this new method with other proposed IVNSs methods demonstrates the availability and difference of this method.

A Study on the Current Situation and Development of English Translation of Hunan Red Tourism

As China's red tourism continues to heat up, it not only attracts Chinese people to study, but also welcomes more foreign tourists in recent years. At this time, the English translation of public signs and publicity materials is prominent. Under this background, under the guidance of theories such as cross-cultural pragmatic English translation, a field survey was conducted on the current situation of English translation of major red tourist attractions in Hunan Province. Research shows: There are obvious grammatical errors, nonstandard pragmatics and cultural barriers in the English translation of Hunan red tourism culture. In view of the above problems, we should strengthen the training of foreign language translation talents for red tourism, and introduce relevant English translation standards to standardize them. In addition, it is necessary to establish the English translation corpus of Hunan red tourism culture. The problem of cultural English translation is to improve the translator's cross-cultural awareness and professional quality to achieve the best English translation effect.

On Teaching Reform and Innovation of Computer-Aided Translation Technology

In the era of artificial intelligence, translation market puts forward the new requirements for translation talents in translation technology. Nowadays, the cultivation of translation talents is far from meeting the needs of the market in translation technology. Therefore, it is urgent to for higher education institutes to cultivate the translation technology competence of translation talents. Taking South China Business College of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies as an example, this research carries out a teaching reform of the course Computer-aided Translation (CAT) for undergraduate students majoring in Translation. Supported by the translation projects, this paper conducts an empirical-experimental study on "campus class", "enterprise class " and "research and learning" from the perspectives of translation competence model by the PACTE group. The research results finds that teaching reform and innovation of the Course by the fusion of education and industry is of great practical significance to the training of application-oriented translation talents.
