Introducing a Levy Scheme to Online Educational Use of Copyrighted Works

It is common for teachers to use others' copyrighted works for the purpose of teaching. The current copyright law in many nations only exempts educational use in the context of offline classroom teaching. The use of others’ copyrighted material in online teaching may still constitute copyright infringement. To protect teachers from the chilling effect of copyright infringement, to safeguard the public's freedom to obtain knowledge, and to ensure the commensurability of the profits and responsibilities of online teaching platforms, this paper proposes a levy scheme for online teaching. Under the levy scheme, teachers are free to use others’ published work for the purpose of online teaching, provided that such use does not conflict with a normal exploitation of the work and does not unreasonably prejudice the legitimate interest of the copyright owner. Online teaching platforms should remunerate the copyright owner of the work used in the platform according to the number of participants of the course that uses such work.

TEACHING FRACTIONS TO BILINGUAL STUDENTS: A CASE STUDY IN SCHOOLS OF THE DODECANESE, GREECE

<p>In this study we present a method for the simultaneous interaction of many bilingual students by the use of tests. Its application was to fractions, where the difficulties were deemed to be the basis of a theoretical model. With this same theoretical model we created a teaching method for the teaching of fractions. First there was an evaluation of the situation, followed by the drawing up of a teaching scheme on themes of language to improve communication between pupil and teacher. Use of WhatsApp\xae, for distance teaching during COVID-19 pandemic: Experience and perception from a sub-Saharan African setting

BackgroundIn the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, to palliate to the lockdown and cover academic programs, the faculty of medicine and pharmaceutical sciences (FMPS) of the university of Dschang (UDs) in Cameroon has implemented e-learning using WhatsApp®.AimDescribe the opinion of students and lecturers after its implementation of e-learning at the FMPS of UDs.MethodsWe designed a uniform teaching scheme using WhatsApp® during the university lockdown. Students and members of the teaching staff of the FMPS of UDs were enrolled after receiving clear information on the study implementation. At the end of the online-teaching period of two and a half months, we surveyed our students and teaching staff. Sociodemographic characteristics and opinions about e-learning were collected using a standard questionnaire.ResultsWe enrolled 229 students and 40 lecturers of the FMPS. Students reported a decremented quality of internet connection (p < 0.001, p-homogeneity < 0.001) despite an increased expenditure related to internet use. Electronic devices were broadly used before the implementation of mobile learning. The use of course materials was significantly more challenging among students because of the size/format of lecture notes and internet connection/cost (all p < 0.05). Perception of discipline compared to classroom-based lessons was not significantly different among students compared to lecturers (all p > 0.05). While lecturers were mainly more comfortable conveying the contents of their lectures, students tended to be less prone to actively participate. The motivation and satisfaction of the latter group toward e-learning were modest compared to classroom-based lectures while their feedback about the organization was positive.ConclusionsE-learning using WhatsApp® could be an effective alternative to conventional classroom-based lessons in the context of COVID-19 pandemic. The use of a blended-learning program including classroom-based sessions could help improve its limitations.

How Portuguese Schools Navigated through THE Pandemic First Wave: Views from Headteachers

The transition from emergency remote teaching schemes to effective online learning ones has posed just as much similar as specific challenges to different countries and regions during school closures of the COVID-19 pandemic first wave. In Portugal, the specific challenge of a notably aged teaching workforce that admits being underprepared for pedagogically meaningful use of digital technologies in education has become more evident. Focusing on the views of seven interviewed schools’ headteachers, this paper presents and discusses the reported facilitators and barriers/constraints of their schools’ transition from emergency remote teaching to online learning, during the first pandemic wave and relates those factors with the particular issues of veteran teachers’ engagement with online learning. The paper introduces the rekindle+50 project under which the data collection and analysis took place and underlines the extreme importance of continued investment in teacher professional development and collaboration to enhance more effective use of online learning tools and platforms in times of uncertainty.

The Analysis of the Difficulty Levels of ‘you’sentences in Modern Chinese

This study makes an analysis of ‘you’sentences in modern Chinese from the perspective of ‘you’sentences itself and the comparison with related expressions in Korean. Based on the structural complexity, semantic complexity, Whether it has a pragmatic function, whether it is a spoken or stylistic structure, and the principle of the cross-language gap between Chinese and Korean, this paper analyzes the difficulty levels of modern Chinese ‘you’sentences for Korean native speakers. According to the difficulty level and step-by-step teaching method of Deng Shouxin (2018), this paper divides the teaching of this paper divides the teaching of ‘you’sentences for Korean students into four stages. This study can provide guidance for Korean native Chinese learners in the study of ‘you’sentences, and also help in the grammar teaching, textbook arrangement and teaching scheme of Korean Chinese teaching.

Design of software-defined network experimental teaching scheme based on virtualised Environment

Abstract Aiming to address the shortage of experimental resources, the high cost of large-scale deployment of hardware experimental environment and the difficulty for students to get started in the software-defined network (SDN) course, this article proposes an SDN experimental teaching scheme based on the virtualised environment, and gives a specific experimental scheme design. The scheme utilises virtualisation technology to build a SDN experimental environment quickly, uses a lightweight network simulation platform – that goes by the name of Mininet – to build the SDN network and uses open-source controller Floodlight for centralised control of the SDN network. The scheme is mainly divided into three phases: basic, improvement and synthesis. In the basic phase, experimental projects mainly include the study of SDN basic concepts and the use of relevant tools; in the improvement phase, experimental projects mainly include the use of SDN flow table, group table, etc; in the synthetic phase, we design two innovative experimental projects that use computational intelligence technology to achieve efficient load balancing and accurate malicious attack detection. The difficulty of each phase is increasing. The constantly evolving levels of difficulty allow the individual needs of students with different levels to be met, thereby improving the effect of SDN experimental teaching and cultivating innovative SDN talents.

Hybrid Reality-Based Education Expansion System for Non-Traditional Learning

Many educators utilize conventional coaching methods to coach and study behaviors in a classroom with face-to-face, verbal contact. But, the coaching with learning atmosphere has developed further than the classroom. The incorporation of technology at the coaching with learning procedure is the novel tendency at teaching, by a favorable result. Technologies present surroundings for learning behaviors to happen anytime also everywhere to advantages instructors with students universal. One of the skills to have been demonstrating feasibilities of the appliance at learning surroundings is Hybrid Reality (HR), which includes together Virtual Reality (VR) with Augmented Reality (AR). This work attempts to construct ahead the recent condition of hybrid reality also its appliance at learning. The initial section depicts the fundamental formation of hybrid reality also its various divisions. The subsequent sections provide the superior construction of a few innovative appliances that are implemented for the hybrid reality. Lastly, the paper shows the benefits of those applications over the traditional teaching methods and the essential user reactions. The outcomes have highly in assistance of taking mobile applications based on Hybrid Reality into a contemporary teaching scheme.

RETRACTED: Practice of BIM teaching scheme for application oriented talents training

Building information modeling (BIM) is another revolutionary computer application technology after computer aided design (CAD). And it's developing rapidly. At the same time, it is considered to be a technology that can overcome many problems in the construction industry, such as low production efficiency and waste of resources. In this paper, through consulting a large number of materials, combined with the research results at home and abroad, we introduced the discovery learning theory, combined with literature review method, experience summary method and case study method to establish a BIM course teaching scheme research model for application-oriented talents training, and carried out research on BIM teaching scheme in China, and analyzed and summarized the traditional teaching design The results show that the overall efficiency of BIM teaching scheme research is improved by 20%, and the efficiency is higher, which has certain practical value.

Examen colegiado de cálculo diferencial

Esta investigación analiza el examen colegiado de cálculo diferencial en los ciclos escolares 2018-2 y 2019-1 a un total de 3,751 estudiantes de primer semestre de las carreras de ingeniería de una universidad pública mexicana. Se estudia la actividad cognitiva requerida para la resolución de cada reactivo y los registros de representación presentes, además del carácter estructural o procesal del reactivo. Con los resultados se observa que el examen colegiado es una prueba confiable y con poder de discriminación satisfactorio, con carga mayoritaria de reactivos procedimentales y con representación algebraica que identifican también el esquema de enseñanza. Se determinan los reactivos con mayor dificultad para los estudiantes, los cuales tienen presente la actividad cognitiva de conversión, son procedimentales, con lenguaje natural presente y abundante lenguaje algebraico.

Innovation of Financial Management Teaching Mode Based on Big Data

As we all know, the development of social innovation is inseparable from science and technology. Nowadays, the emergence of Big Data(BD) has a significant impact on society. In this data age, the traditional Teaching Mode(TM) of financial management can not meet the needs of the times, and the teaching of financial management needs to be reformed and innovated. In this context, this paper proposes the financial management professional innovation research based on BD. In order to adapt to the trend of the development of the times, this paper proposes an accurate TM of financial management based on BD. In teaching, we use BD technology to accurately mine students’ learning needs and learning characteristics, and give targeted teaching plans through data analysis and decision-making. In order to verify the effectiveness of the method proposed in this paper, we conducted a control experiment. In the experiment, we selected two classes of students with little difference in financial management major in our school as the experimental objects to carry out the research. After the experiment, we investigated the performance and satisfaction of the two classes of students, and evaluated the teaching scheme and teaching effect of the two classes. The results show that after the experiment, only 40% of the students in the control class use the traditional TM, while 63.33% of the students in the class use the TM proposed in this paper, which is far higher than the control class. It can be seen that the financial management precision TM based on BD proposed in this paper is effective and has great advantages.

Sustainable Development of College and University Education by use of Data Mining Methods

To improve the education efficiency of the students, the student-centered education plan is explored. First, the Apriori algorithm of association rules is used to mine the potential related patterns in the score data of college students and establish a reasonable teaching method. Second, aided by the decision tree model, the factors affecting students' academic performance are studied, and the potential relationship between different courses is studied. Finally, the Apriori algorithm of association rules combined with decision tree model is used to generate the early warning mechanism of students' achievement, and the course performance of college students is empirically analyzed. The results show that: C language has two sides of dependence on many subjects; higher mathematics → linear algebra → mathematical statistics → computer composition principle → computer network. The teaching scheme of C language → C + + → Java more conforms to the learning mechanism of college students. Through empirical analysis, the early warning mechanism of association rule Apriori algorithm and decision tree model can effectively analyze student's course and give student's achievement. It is found that the method proposed can provide theoretical basis for students, teachers, and university administrators to carry out education reform and education management decision-making, improve students' performance and education quality, and realize the "student-oriented" education concept, so it can be applied to the actual education management.

The Research on the Mode of Interdisciplinary Cooperative Teaching of EGP and ESP

Based on the results of previous research and introspection method, this paper constructs the interdisciplinary cooperative teaching mode of EGP and ESP. Taking the course “Finance and Economics English as an example, a feasible practice of interdisciplinary cooperative teaching scheme is proposed. The aim of the research is to promote the transition from EGP to ESP and cultivate interdisciplinary talents in line with the requirements of the times.

Research on Teaching Scheme of Introduction to Engineering Management Based on the EPMI

Introduction to Engineering Management is recognized as the first enlightening course for freshmen majoring in engineering management. Its teaching effect significantly impacts the cultivation of engineering management professionals. The engineering management professional certification management information platform refers to EPMI. By complying with the EPMI, this study investigates the teaching system of the ideological and political education of the course, teaching mode and teaching feedback mechanism. Compared with existing conventional teaching scheme, the novel teaching scheme enriches the content and form of the course, promotes the curriculum teaching system more systematic and scientific, helps students further clarify the focus of professional learning, which enables them to achieve the curriculum teaching goals more effectively.

Perception of Teachers Regarding Gaps in Student Competencies for Industrial and Farmers’ Needs

This study was designed to describe the gap between the existing and desired competencies of the agricultural graduates as perceived by the teachers. A survey of active and continuously enrolled undergraduates and post-graduate students was conducted. Data for the study were collected by providing them with a questionnaire. The findings of the study revealed that the teachers’ perception of the competencies as existing and desired in the UG students was ordered in descending manner viz. communication/ICT, entrepreneurial, extension skills, personal, managerial, market/understanding government policy, and technical competency. While in the case of PG students, the teachers ordered the competencies as important in the desired status were communication/ICT, entrepreneurial, extension skills, managerial, personal, market/understanding government policy, and technical competency. The majority of the teachers agreed that the lack of staff was one of the major factors affecting their fair evaluation of the students along with the overburdening of various other universities’ works entrusted upon them. Recommendations include teachers should be assigned jobs concerning the schemes and mandates viz. teaching, research, and extension so that they can justify their scheme. The teachers in the teaching scheme should have the prime responsibility of building competencies among the students.

A Teaching Factory Knowledge Exchange Network

Skills and competences required by the labor market evolve at a high rate. In addition, manufacturing enterprises face a number of technical and non-technical challenges in their daily business, and most of them are relatively slow as it regards innovation adoption. Academia needs to be able to closely follow industrial needs, to generate the right kind of professionals. In addition, academia owns a lot of high-value specialized industrial equipment, which is not shared and subsequently often underutilized. Over and above, COVID-19 has significantly impacted the educational institutes' operation. All aforementioned facts point to one specific need; an effective remote collaboration paradigm aiming at knowledge exchange. The Teaching Factory paradigm provides a real-life environment for students to develop their skills and competences, through directly involving them with real-life industrial challenges. Through the use of modern digital technologies and tools, and in combination with the relevant educational approach, a two-way online knowledge communication between academia and industry is formed, aiming to mutually benefit both stakeholders. This work focuses on presenting a framework for successfully extending the established Teaching Factory paradigm on a network level, taking advantage of the unique characteristics of all aforementioned actors and connecting them together to the ecosystem benefit, forming a Teaching Factory Knowledge Exchange Network. The educational approach and required ICT infrastructure for the facilitation of knowledge exchange are presented. The proposed framework and tools applicability are validated in two heterogeneous pilot applications, using different modalities of the proposed framework, involving a collaborative academic teaching scheme via virtually interconnected classrooms and labs, as well as a collaboratively solving an industrial challenge linked with digital work instructions in manual assembly.

Online Teaching of College Physics with Multi Teaching Methods and Temperature

As a public basic course for undergraduates in science and engineering colleges, college physics course focuses on imparting basic knowledge and scientific research methods, with the significant characteristics of rich teaching content and wide coverage. Exploring an effective teaching mode of college physics has always been the goal of college physics teachers. In the course of COVID-19's destruction, it is urgent to explore the online teaching mode of college physics. This paper explores the integration of college physics teaching methods during the epidemic period, and tries to build a teaching mode that relies on the platform to support the integration of multiple teaching methods. Relying on the MOOC platform of China University, first of all, we provide students with an online learning network space through the asynchronous SPOC of the platform; Secondly, We effectively combine Tencent conference interactive teaching, QQ real-time interaction and MOOC classroom follow-up test as the online classroom teaching scheme; Finally, the multi-dimensional teaching evaluation mode is used to test the learning effect. We share the possible accidents in the online classroom and the author's online teaching experience, trying to make students feel a warm and an effective online college physics classroom during the epidemic specific period.

Bitesized Teaching: educational futures for mental health training

Background/Aims Bitesized Teaching is an initiative that has worked successfully in Yorkshire and Derbyshire Mental Health Services for the last 5 years. It traditionally involves the delivery of high-impact, 10-minute tutorials on physical health topics, which take place once a week in the ward lunchtime handover period. This study evaluates an extension to the Bitesized Teaching scheme that incorporates delivering mental health-focused teaching topics to clinical staff on medical wards. Methods Bitesized Teaching was delivered by a mental health liaison team to medical ward staff with three rolling sessions in an hour. To monitor the improvement in knowledge, a pre and post 1–5 Likert scale questionnaire was used. Results The data showed that the knowledge from nursing staff improved on every topic. The topics ‘psychosis’ and ‘talking to people with psychosis’ had the greatest level of improvement in knowledge. Although the data reported a trend of increased knowledge, further analysis would need to explore the relevance the teaching topics had on clinical practice. Conclusions The results outline the need for general and paediatric nursing staff to receive specific mental health training with the intention to improve treatment outcome and wellbeing to patients admitted to hospital for acute medical care.

Corneocyte Nanotexture as Biomarker for Individual Susceptibility to Skin Irritants

Irritant contact dermatitis is a wide spread occupational skin condition. In addition to generalized protection and teaching schemes, a knowledge about individual risk might add to an improved awareness for hazards. Here, we report on a novel candidate biomarker, which might stage individual susceptibility to irritant skin damage. Subclinical sensitivity was proven in recent studies. As a nano-anatomical measure, it works non-invasively on corneocytes from tape strips. Here, we report on a 7-day course after exposure to sodium lauryl sulphate and compare the novel cell texture index with the classical markers water loss (transepidermal water loss) and natural moisturizing factor. All parameters show a high degree of correlation.

Research on College English Teaching Based on Wechat Platform

WeChat platform has been widely used in various fields due to its rich functions and mature technology. In addition to being used for timely communication, the integration with education and teaching has also been explored. College English teaching based on WeChat platform plays an active role in the construction of teaching resources, innovation in teaching methods and improvement of teaching efficiency. Based on the function and characteristics of WeChat platform, this paper proposes a college English teaching scheme, fully considering the reality of college English teaching.

Research on College English Education under the Guidance of OBE Theory

The concept of Outcome-based Education runs through the certification of engineering education. It is of great practical significance to adopt the concept of Outcome-based Education in the reform of college English teaching in engineering colleges. This article focuses on the three teaching links of college English teaching goals, college English teaching methods, and college English teaching outcome evaluation, studies its realization form under the concept of Outcome-based Education, and constructs college English teaching goals that meet job needs and professional characteristics, new college English teaching methods combining the Internet technology and diversified learning outcome evaluation methods oriented in results, and explores new feasible college English teaching schemes led by the Outcome-based Education concept, to help college English curriculum reform.
