Discipline in Education, and its relationship with Students’ Academic Achievement at University Level

The purpose of the research was to know the relationship of discipline in education and students’ academic achievement at university level. The study’s population of concern included all social sciences students from two universities in Multan district (Bahauddin Zakariya University and The Women University). Sample of the study was consisted of 300 students. Just the students of social sciences was selected from these universities, and 25 students were chosen from each department. Questionnaire was developed for students which contains 26 items and five point likert was used for scoring. Data were entered on SPSS sheet after the completion of data collection. Various statistical methods were applied to obtain the findings about the student’s reactions like percentage, mean, frequency and standard deviation was used to apply and examine the relationship of discipline in education with student academic achievement. After complete analysis of data it was found that the majority of the participants believe that discipline in education helps student’s to complete their assignments on time, arrive on time for class and participates in every class discussions.

Research on the Dissemination Pathways of Lvju in Education

Intangible cultural heritage Lvju has gained attention at both national and local levels. However, the significant transformations brought about by the development of social informatization have posed challenges such as an aging pool of inheritors, difficulties in promotion and dissemination, and a decrease in the audience base for Lvju. This paper employs literature review, case analysis, and comparative methods to analyze and consolidate strategies for promoting the dissemination and development of Lvju through educational and teaching approaches. The analysis is conducted from three perspectives: integration into school education, promotion of local culture, school art groups engaging with the public, and the fusion of Lvju culture with digital media and design disciplines in higher education. The aim is to explore measures within the realm of education and teaching that facilitate the promotion and development of Lvju, ultimately contributing to the preservation and protection of Lvju.

The article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of the culture of managerial relations in public administration. It is stated that the culture of managerial relations exists in all organizations, regardless of the form of ownership. In each organization, the management culture is unique and inimitable. It cannot be formed on its own; the main factor of its formation is the cultural values of each subject and object which form management relations.
 It is established that managerial culture is formed under the influence of the internal and external environment, and its main elements are moral and ethical norms, values, worldview, mutual respect, professional and personal skills, compliance with subordination, level of discipline and level of education, etc. Formation of a culture of managerial relations in public administration is a complex and lengthy process, however, it is necessary to ensure effective management and development of a public organization.
 The author conducted an empirical study of the level of communication culture in public authorities and local self-government bodies in Ukraine and identified the main moral and ethical standards that public servants must adhere to in their activities in accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine.
 On the basis of the study, the author identifies the main problematic aspects of the culture of managerial relations and suggests ways to solve them, taking into account the national experience.
 The problematic aspects of the culture of managerial relations are mainly related to specific challenges that arise between managers and subordinates, the transformation processes taking place in the State, the insufficient level of knowledge of management psychology, low motivation, corruption and lack of transparency in management, lack of readiness of public managers for continuous development and self-improvement, etc.

The study's significance lies in contributing nuanced insights to science education and offering practical implications for educators to enhance pedagogical practices.

Collaboration to Increase Cultural Relevance for African American English Speakers With Disabilities

Students with disabilities who are speakers of African American English (AAE) can face barriers and challenges in the classroom. There is the potential for negative perceptions of AAE and a lack of understanding of dialectal differences to impact student expectations and outcomes. School leadership must prepare educators to implement strategies to support students with these intersecting identities, yet research indicates that educators often need more preparation. Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) are one special education discipline with specialized training and skills to meet student needs at the intersection of disability and linguistic diversity. Today, policymakers and school leaders call on educators to be CR practitioners. This article presents a CR framework and provides recommendations for educators collaborating with SLPs within the five framework themes. By leveraging partnerships with SLPs, educators can increase their cultural relevance and more effectively support educational outcomes for students with disabilities who are speakers of AAE.

Component-structural Model of Formation of Scientific Competence of Future Teachers of Choreography in the Process of Professional Training

In the article, the author investigated the essence of the definitions of “model”, “scientific competence”, “professional training”, theoretically justified, implemented and experimentally tested the model of the formation of scientific competence of future choreography teachers in the process of professional training. It is proved that the formation of scientific competence of future teachers of choreography is possible under appropriate conditions, which include principles, approaches, content, forms, methods, means, technologies, criteria, levels, and pedagogical conditions aimed at increasing the level of effectiveness of the formation of the specified phenomenon. The model of the formation of the scientific competence of future teachers of choreographic disciplines in the process of professional training should be considered as a sample concept.

Finding My Meeple: How Eight Secondary Educators Use Analog Gaming to Engage and Motivate Students

Although more research has been conducted on game-based learning in secondary-level classrooms in recent years, much of that research focuses on the digital realm as opposed to analog games such as board or card games. Moreover, research concerning analog games often takes the form of design-based research or explorations of how thinking manifests during gameplay. Thus, more research is necessary to provide a fuller view of (1) how secondary-level teachers currently make use of analog games as learning tools in their classrooms and (2) the affordances such teachers have experienced when implementing analog games as teaching tools. In this qualitative study, the researcher interviewed eight middle and high school teachers of various disciplines and from various locations in the United States who employ analog game-based learning. Examined through a theoretical framework of Csikszentmihalyi's Flow theory and Ryan and Deci's work in Self-Determination, a number of themes emerged during those semi-structured interviews, including the enjoyment experienced by both teachers and students while using analog-based games as learning tools; improved levels of engagement and motivation; the appeal of analog games for learners who benefit from interacting with physical objects; and the rewards of using games in class, including positive social interaction. Furthermore, participants discussed the importance of aligning lesson objectives with gameplay; the value of post-play reflection; the power of games to offer valuable simulation-based learning experiences; and the challenge of student hesitation due to fear of failure or competition during gameplay. These themes suggest the potential for analog-based games to be used as valuable learning tools, so long as the teacher knows how and when to use such tools. Finally, the researcher calls for further study to aid educators in aligning their choices of games with the kinds of students who make up their classrooms so that fewer students experience the fear of failure and, thus, disengage with the game-based learning experience.

Visual Knowledge Graph Construction of Self-directed Learning Ability Driven by Interdisciplinary Projects

INTRODUCTION: The application of interdisciplinary information technology is becoming more and more widespread, and the application of visual knowledge mapping in the process of students' independent learning is also becoming more and more important; therefore, in this context, takes the history discipline as a starting point to study the construction of visual knowledge mapping of students' independent learning ability under the drive of interdisciplinary projects.OBJECTIVES: To enrich the means of student independent learning aids in China's history discipline and enhance the modernization level of China's history discipline construction; to solve the problem that student independent learning ability under the drive of China's interdisciplinary projects can not be visualized and observed; to further improve China's distance education environment and to enhance the educational capacity of the history discipline.METHODS: Firstly, the relevant modeling uses a visual knowledge map. Secondly, the neural network model assesses students' independent learning ability in history learning. Finally, the convolutional neural network model is used to assess the efficiency of the knowledge map.RESULTS: The Sig and Tanh function models have better robustness, and the ReLU and PReLU functions have weaker interdisciplinary driving performance. However, the iterative Knownledge1 and Knownledge2 models have better robustness of the visualized knowledge graph.CONCLUSION: In studying history, the interdisciplinary, project-driven, and independent learning ability of students could be more vital, and our country should vigorously develop new information network technology to improve the status quo of history discipline education in China.

Methods and means of developing the pedagogical skill of teachers of general education disciplines in vocational education institutions

The problem of developing the professionalism of teachers today belongs to the key directions of research in the field of modern pedagogical science. The high quality of teaching in the vocational education system depends on the level of knowledge, pedagogical skill of the teacher, and his/her professional maturity. On the basis of the conducted analysis, it is substantiated that the effectiveness of the development of the pedagogical skill of teachers of general education disciplines of vocational education institutions depends both on the correct definition of goals and content, and on the methods of achieving the goal - teaching methods.
 The purpose of the article is the theoretical justification of the main methods and means of developing the pedagogical skill of teachers of general education disciplines of vocational education institutions.
 The work characterizes the main functions of teaching methods, analyzes their main classifications, examines familiar, traditional methods (lecture method, story, explanation, training exercises, explanatory conversation, discussion, independent work, instruction, etc.), as well as innovative: simulation and game methods, brainstorming method, problem methods, project method, case method, master class, work in pairs, work in groups, consultations, portfolio, method of situational analysis, coaching, tutoring, etc.
 The study revealed that improving the professional skill of teachers of general education disciplines in vocational education institutions is a complex process. The professional skill of a teacher is an individual style, combined with high professional competence, which determines the ability to apply traditional and innovative technologies, to carry out professional activities regardless of the conditions of the social environment and the characteristics of students. That is why explanatory-illustrative, reproductive, and problem-based teaching methods (traditional and innovative) should gradually and purposefully implement cognitive activity, develop and improve professional skills within the framework of formal, non-formal, and informal continuous pedagogical education of teachers of general education disciplines of vocational education institutions

ПЕДАГОГИЧЕСКИЕ ОСНОВЫ ПРЕПОДАВАНИЯ ЭКОНОМИЧЕСКИХ ДИСЦИПЛИН И ИХ РОЛЬ В УСВОЕНИИ УЧЕБНОГО МАТЕРИАЛА

This article examines the pedagogical foundations of teaching economic disciplines and their impact on the effective assimilation of educational material by students. In the context of modern educational requirements and challenges, the article analyzes the methods, strategies and approaches used by teachers to ensure high-quality education in economic disciplines. Special attention is paid to the role of active teaching methods, case studies, project activities and other innovative approaches in shaping students' understanding and skills in the field of economics. The author highlights the key principles on which successful teaching of economic disciplines is based, such as a problem-oriented approach, integration of theory with practice, individualization of learning and the use of modern educational technologies. As a result, the article concludes that there is a need for an integrated approach to the teaching of economic disciplines, which takes into account the needs and characteristics of students, as well as modern requirements of the labor market and society.

Core Literacy of Physical Education Discipline and The Sports Performance of Selected Sports Majors in China

This study aimed to determine the assessment of the current situation of sports discipline and core literacy of students majoring in sports specialty in colleges and universities in China, and to find out the challenges and obstacles that hinder their participation in sports and training. It utilized the descriptive comparative -correlational research design in the conduct of the study. To ensure the valid and systematic presentation, analysis and interpretation of the data, the following statistical tools were obtained: frequency count and percentage, weighted mean, ranking, P value and t-test/ and Pearson’s r Correlation Analysis. Results of the study revealed that Sportsmanship, sports practice, and health promotion have all been assessed as highly consistent with Core Literacy in Physical Education. There is a favorable ecosystem surrounding sports education, with active participation and support from communities and institutions. The highly significant correlations observed between sportsmanship, sports practices, and health promotion with sports performances and sports involvement and support highlight the interconnectedness of these elements within the discipline. The Core Literacy of Physical Education encompasses a wide range of components, including physical qualities, health improvement, values development, teamwork, leadership, communication skills, cultural literacy, creativity, and emotional intelligence. These components collectively contribute to the holistic development of individuals and communities.

Online education in design disciplines: factors influencing the interactive experience of group learning

There has been much previous research into online group learning, but they have not been aware of or focused on the challenges that design disciplines encounter in terms of interaction when moving to online delivery. This qualitative study comprised 3 participatory design workshops and 22 one-to-one interviews that included a total of 34 teachers and students from the School of Design at the University of Leeds. Participants reported the challenges and feelings they encountered in online group learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study found that the interactive experience of group learning is mainly influenced by the size of the group, the layout of the platform interface, the teacher’s management style and the conflict within the group, with more far-reaching discussions providing specific questions and subtle suggestions. The article’s findings can inform future strategies for online group learning for students and teachers of design disciplines in design higher education institutions.

Experience and perspective of teaching of the educations component «Technology of perfumery and cosmetic products of industrial production»

The mandatory component «Technology of perfumery and cosmetic products of industrial production» teaching purpose is complex of knowledge and skills formation and providing future specialists with the opportunity to perform multifaceted functional duties in a highquality manner.
 The aim of the work: study of modern approaches to teaching the educational component «Technology of perfumery and cosmetic products of industrial production» on the example of the National University of Pharmacy.
 During the work was made system analysis of the experience of providing educational services in the National University of Pharmacy according to program «Technology of perfumery and cosmetic products of industrial production» comparative and analytical, statistical, logical method of discipline teaching analysis; was researched scientific publications of domestic and foreign authors.
 It has been proven the relevance of teaching the mandatory educational component «Technology of perfumery and cosmetic products of industrial production» and presented updated structure of the educational process, the experience of teaching the components was analyzed, the need for students to acquire knowledge about the classification of cosmetic products, the mechanisms of action of assets, the influence of auxiliary substances on achieving a given level of action that ensures the planned cosmetic effect, and approaches to the development of the composition and technology of cosmetic products, which forms professional competencies of a domestic pharmacist-cosmetologist specialist, who must be competitive in the professional environment ‒ the public health care system. Motivation of students of higher education by mastering the material content of the normative component, obtaining high results during the control measures of knowledge assessment confirmed the students' sufficient assimilation of theoretical knowledge and acquisition of practical skills that help to achieve the planned goals and tasks that form the program learning outcomes that are the basis of the practical tasks of a modern pharmacist-cosmetologist, and possibly future scientist.
 The analysis of teaching experience (approaches, content, hours) of mandatory component «Technology of perfumery and cosmetic products of industrial production» was carried out and it testifies to that the general and classroom volume of hours, the educational component structure, it’s thematic content are able to form the necessary theoretical knowledge, and practical skills are acquired during industrial practice of educational component «Technology of perfumery and cosmetic products of industrial production» which make professional competence of the future employee, making and expanding his employment opportunities. The place of employment can be not only pharmacies, but also cosmetology establishments and perfumery and cosmetic enterprises that meet the request of employers.

Social and Professional Adaptation of Students in the Educational Environment of the University in the Last Third of the 20th Century: Experience of Organization and Interpretation

The relevance of the problems of the presented research is connected with the understanding and evaluation of some forms of organization of social and professional adaptation of first-year students and their integration into the educational environment of the university, established and implemented in the practice of domestic universities in the last third of the 20th century, their influence on personal, social and professional development of future teachers. The purpose of the article is to reflect on the experience of adaptation and integration of first-year students into the educational environment of the university, which has developed in the activities of historical and pedagogical faculties that operated in the USSR from 1966 to 1996. The reflection of such experience is focused on the search for productive ideas that allow students to adapt to the norms and values of the educational environment in the modern practice of professional psychological and pedagogical education, form sustainable motives for self-development, self-education, and intensively prepare for professional activities in the Russian education system. The leading methodological ideas in the analysis of the experience of adaptation and integration of students into the educational environment of the university are the principles of objectivity, consistency, historicism, reliance on the results of practical activities, on expert judgments and assessments of direct participants and organizers of this work in the last third of the 20th century. For these purposes, the method of monographic description of the practical experience of the activities of the installation camp of the historical and pedagogical faculty of the Kursk State Pedagogical Institute, conversations with teachers and students, participant observation, study of scientific texts, press materials and Internet resources was used. Research results. The study made it possible to reveal the place and role of installation camps in ensuring the adaptation and integration of first-year students into the educational environment of the university, to substantiate the main functions of the camp in the general logic of the personal, social and professional development of future teachers, to characterize some effective types and forms of work, their practical effectiveness. In particular, the essence and content of the adaptive, integration, value-orientation functions of the camp of first-year students are revealed; presents the types and forms of work on the socio-moral, personal and professional development of first-year students; the role of senior students in organizing the life of future teachers in the educational environment of the university is characterized. Conclusion. The materials of the article can be used by heads of humanitarian faculties, teachers of psychological and pedagogical disciplines, specialists in the field of history of higher professional pedagogical education.

Patriotic Education in Secondary Vocational Education: Creation and Implementation of the General Educational Subject "Russia in the World"

In the article, the author presents methodological approaches to the development of the general education discipline “Russia in the World”. It is indicated that the “Russia in the World” program is a patriotic program that systematizes the entire historical process and implements strategic guidelines for education. As part of the program, patriotic education is effectively carried out at NMPC. The author in the article speaks in some detail about the design and implementation of the academic discipline “Russia in the World”. As a result of the study, a conclusion is formulated that this program is quite effective, since with its help it was possible to establish the main models, problems and ways of patriotic education of students. It is noted that the high effectiveness of patriotic education within the framework of the development of the OD “Russia in the World” is due to such factors as the systematic nature of the program, reliance on the patriotic potential of historical science, inclusion in the professional training system and taking into account the psychological and other characteristics of students. In this regard, the conclusion is formulated that at the present stage of development, quite effective models have been developed for the patriotic education of the younger generation that are applicable in practice.

From Understanding to Embodying: Moving Beyond Teaching for Understanding of the Spiritual Disciplines Through Using Psychological Theories of Motivation and Behavior

Spiritual formation is the Spirit-directed process of forming pupils of Jesus into His image. Willard (2002; 2005) and Wright (2012) provide effective guidance for the spiritual growth process and place spiritual disciplines at the heart of change. Porter (2023) expresses the need for followers of Jesus to embody the spiritual disciplines and for those communicating about the process to do so in actionable ways. The current paper takes up this call by presenting psychological theories of motivation and behavior that can be seen in Jesus’ teaching of the spiritual disciplines in the Sermon on the Mount and that Christian leaders and teachers should use when teaching the disciplines to increase the likelihood that their students will embody the practices. Initial empirical support for using the Reasoned Action Approach when teaching meditation is highlighted. The paper concludes with practical suggestions for using both theories when teaching and communicating about the spiritual disciplines.

The master’s degree in development practice: a case study of twelve university programs

Sustainable development is a global priority. However, a lack of research exists on the programs designed to train sustainable development practitioners. This multi-case case study, possibly the first to describe the programs that trains development practitioners, utilized case study theory and semi-structured interviews with program administrators to describe sustainable development programs offered by 12 higher education institutions in eight countries with membership in the Global Association of Masters in Development Practice. The results revealed five themes or key drivers, nine advantages, and four deficiencies. Two drivers were enrollment-focused (admission of students with prior work experience in development and financial support), two were curriculum-focused (incorporation of field work and integration of specific knowledge aspects and skills training in the curricula), and one was institutional attitude (adoption of a culture of flexibility). The most common challenges were impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic. These results provide insights for continuous improvement efforts of program administrators for students in sustainable development. The practical methodology developed can be replicated and adapted for investigation of similar programs and other disciplines in higher education.

The educational discipline "Gymnastics with teaching methods" is a mandatory component in most educational programs for bachelors in the specialty "Physical Culture and Sports". Its study involves solving the tasks of fundamental professional training of specialists in the field. Future trainer’s master theoretical and practical material, skills of the future profession, learn to properly organize and conduct educational and training sessions.
 The article states that gymnastics is one of the basic sports, the basis of the initial training of athletes, the most accessible and popular sport, an effective means of corrective influence.
 Highlighted tasks, competencies and learning outcomes; the program of the academic discipline indicating the number of lectures, practical hours and independent work.
 Tasks of the training course: familiarization with the history of the development of gymnastics and the methodology of its teaching; mastering the content, forms, methods and means of education by the students; formation of knowledge, abilities and skills in basic gymnastic exercises; formation of knowledge on the methodology of teaching gymnastic exercises, organization and conduct of gymnastics classes.
 The content of the working curriculum reflects the features of the educational and professional training program for those seeking higher education, the availability of the appropriate material and technical base and gymnastic equipment; innovative learning technologies; popularization of gymnastics sports. The availability of qualified specialists in gymnastics, a sports base, the demand for conducting sports and health classes in gymnastics according to new formats for the population requires improvement of the content of the training of physical culture and sports specialists.
