Empowering Palestinian Students: Overcoming English Speaking Barriers throughSamr Model-Inspired Digital Storytelling Based on Gaza Children's Stories during the War

Nowadays, many educators seem to have overlooked the potential of incorporating media as a valuable instructional tool, as indicated by a study delving into the realm of digital-based learning resources. The main objective of this research is to evaluate the enhancement of students' speaking abilities through the integration of digital storytelling, utilizing a mixed-methods approach that combines quantitative and qualitative elements. The study involves sixteen 10th-grade students from Nabi-Saleh Secondary School, adopting a single group pretest-posttest design. A comprehensive speaking skill rubric, encompassing aspects such as pronunciation, grammar, word selection, speaking fluency, and overall content, was employed to assess students speaking skills throughout the research. In addition to quantitative measures, qualitative data, including student reflections and perceptions, were gathered through interviews and open-ended survey questions. The quantitative analysis revealed a significant value (2-Tailed) of 0.000 in the One Sample Test. The significance of less than 0.05 led to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0) and acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Hα), suggesting a notable improvement in students' speaking abilities through the integration of digital storytelling. According to the SAMR approach (Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, Redefinition), digital storytelling has become an essential instrument for encouraging students' unique ideas and creating a lively and stimulating learning environment. This redefines the entire learning process, going beyond simple replacement. The introduction of the SAMR model contributes additional insights into the transformative role of technology in education. This research not only highlights the quantifiable improvements in speaking skills but also delves into the qualitative aspects of students' experiences with digital storytelling. It emphasizes the importance of adapting digital media to cater to students' needs, presenting it as an innovative teaching tool in the classroom. To enhance the study's relevance to current events, a suggestion is made to incorporate narratives that resonate with the lived experiences of Palestinian children facing the challenges of the Gaza-Israel war. Including stories that showcase their resilience and strength in adversity can significantly engage students, connecting the study to impactful narratives emerging from Gaza.

Pelatihan Pembuatan Bahan Ajar Digital Berbasis Flipbooks bagi Guru di Kota Pekanbaru Riau

This community service activity aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of teachers in creating digital teaching materials based on flipbooks to realize a multimedia-based Islamic school. The implementation method of this community service involved training and mentoring 34 teachers at Arsyad Islamic School in Pekanbaru. The instruments used include questionnaires on the percentage of technology usage in teaching and questionnaires on the teachers' abilities related to using digital teaching material creation applications, which were then analyzed descriptively. The results of this community service showed that there was an improvement in teachers' understanding of the role of technology in teaching and their ability to produce digital learning resources such as flipbooks. Before the training, 48.4% did not master the skills, 31.3% had a sufficient level of mastery, 18.8% were proficient, and 0% were highly proficient in creating digital teaching materials. After the training, there was an improvement, with 0% having no mastery, 34.4% having a sufficient level of mastery, 50% being proficient, and 12.5% being highly proficient. It indicates that the community service activity has impacted teachers' understanding and skills.

The Influence of Website-Based Learning Media on Science Learning Outcomes in Elementary School Students in the Era of Society 5.0

Objective: In the era of global society 5.0, people worldwide are faced with demands to keep pace with the development of technology and knowledge by developing their "hard skills" and "soft skills." Ever-evolving technologies are utilized to achieve this goal. One example of its implementation in education is the use of websites in science learning. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of learning websites in improving student achievement. Method: Using the systematic literature review method, the research collects and analyzes twenty articles related to learning websites. Result: The results of the twenty journals showed that the use of website media has a positive impact on improving student achievement in the context of science learning. This reflects the critical role of technology in education in the era of global society 5.0. There has been a significant increase in minimum score achievement and student satisfaction with learning. Using the website allows students to learn efficiently and flexibly anywhere. This indicates that learning websites effectively aid students' comprehension of the material, motivate them to learn, and foster interest in learning. Novelty: The website learning media must continue to be developed. In the era of a global society, 5.0 technology in education is essential. This is based on an analysis of the data obtained regarding the use of website media for science learning.

The role of educational technology in social sciences: bibliometric analysis

Resumen El desarrollo educativo de las Ciencias Sociales, donde destacan la geografía y la historia, es un terreno propicio para incorporar los avances tecnológicos con aplicabilidad al enriquecimiento de los procesos formativos y la mejora del interés y rendimiento del alumnado. Partiendo del interés del uso de la tecnología educativa en las ciencias sociales, el objetivo de este estudio es analizar con técnicas bibliométricas la producción científica en Scopus sobre dicho tema. Fue aplicada la declaración PRISMA, la muestra final la conforman 126 artículos publicados en las dos primeras décadas del siglo XXI, utilizando análisis bibliométricos de acoplamiento bibliográfico, coautoría, cocitación y co-ocurrencia. Los resultados señalan una producción en crecimiento pero de forma moderada, principalmente en revistas tanto de las ciencias sociales como de la tecnología. Destacan las investigaciones europeas, con redes colaborativas entre Reino Unido, Canadá y Australia, aunque España fue el país más prolífico. Dentro de las Ciencias Sociales, predominan los trabajos en torno a la geografía, siendo la materia con mayor desarrollo en las distintas etapas formativas (primaria, secundaria o universitaria). Recursos como los videojuegos o la realidad virtual y aumentada adquieren cada vez más protagonismo en los procesos formativos. Como conclusión, cabe destacar el impacto positivo de las tecnologías en el desarrollo educativo de las ciencias sociales y las diferentes líneas de investigación que se abren para un área de conocimiento propicia para la innovación.

Role of Educational Technology on the Students’ Performance at University Level

The purpose of the study was to explore the role of educational technology on student’s performance at the university level. Objectives of this study were: (1) To investigate Students' perceptions about educational technology at the university level. (2) To find out the effects of educational technology on students’ performance at the university level. In this Research work, the following questions were used: (1) What are the students’ perceptions about educational technology at the university level? and (2) What are the effects of educational technology on students’ performance at the university level? All (2,139) of the BS students who participated in this study were students at Abdul Wali Khan University. In this study, samples of 402 BS students were used as the research sample. The sample was chosen randomly. A closed-ended questionnaire was created to collect data. Every step of the research procedure was followed. Data was collected in accordance with the sample. The gathered data was tabulated and then evaluated using percentage analysis. It was concluded that the role of educational technologies is very constructive and beneficial for the students. Based on the conclusion, it was recommended that learners should also use other search engines and focus on continuously updating and upgrading education technologies in their day-to-day lives.

The Increasing Role of Technology in Teaching and Learning Activities in Higher Education

We are pleased to publish the second regular issue (Volume 13, Issue 2) of <em>Higher Learning Research Communications (HLRC)</em> for 2023. If there is a common theme that emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic, it is the increased role that technology did and will continue to play in teaching and learning activities in tertiary education. The range of articles reflects the interest in digital teaching and learning and includes the use of scaffolded simulations, the influence of immersive virtual reality in the classroom, and gamification. In addition, guidelines around instant messaging are proposed that should continue the conversation around the ethical use of technology in teaching and learning. As is typical in the HLRC, the authors reflect diverse countries, including Canada, India, Malaysia, Mexico, South Africa, and the United States. We look forward to 2024, when we expect to publish a special issue on English language influence in higher education teaching, learning, and research.

Merdeka Belajar Innovation Through Strengthening Competition Of Islamic Higher Education In Society Era 5.0

The disruption era creates a social arrangement of life that adapts to the conditions and goals set. Indonesia, a Muslim majority, must be adjusted by educational innovations, namely independent learning. Adaptation and adoption are a necessity. Islamic higher education must be reformulated, characterised by a balance of human behaviour and the role of technology in education. The study explores how Islamic higher education can compete in society era 5.0. The results show that Merdeka Belajar innovation is carried out by developing in harmony with Merdeka Belajar curricula and multilevel learning innovations. While strengthening Islamic higher education is based on aqidah sohihah, philosophy, five senses, intuition, character, rationality, and authority as a source of knowledge, all of which must be used as an inspirational approach. Increasing Organizational Capabilities of PAUD Units Through the Digital Leadership Seminar

Improving the capabilities of Early Childhood Education (PAUD) organizations is crucial for efficient and effective management. A well-developed organizational capability can also help enhance public trust in PAUD programs. This is important because public trust ensures ongoing support and access to resources needed for the successful operation of PAUD programs. However, limitations in resources and the ability to leverage technology can pose challenges in enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of PAUD institutions. The goal of this community service initiative is to enhance understanding of the role of technology in education, develop digital leadership skills, and improve collaboration and communication among PAUD leaders throughout West Java. The main activity of this community service initiative is a Digital Leadership seminar. Through this community service initiative, it is expected that the capabilities of PAUD institutions will be enhanced.

This research is a literature review that uses a qualitative method approach, which means it will analyse and interpret data by relying on information and text from various sources. The research found that ChatGPT's role in improving the efficiency of the education management process is significant. This technology has opened the door for a positive transformation in the way education is managed, taught and run. By providing instant information, assistance in learning, and support in communication, ChatGPT can enrich the educational experience of students, teachers, parents, and administrative staff.

Modified EDAS method for spherical fuzzy multiple attribute group decision making and applications to English classroom teaching quality evaluation

Classroom teaching is an important link related to the quality of teaching and talent cultivation. In the implementation of classroom teaching, we should fully attach importance to the main position of students, the role of educational technology and information technology in teaching activities, make use of the latest educational ideas and educational concepts, and combine the actual situation of college English teaching and college English teaching in China, and attach importance to foreign language teaching theories and practices at home and abroad, Establish monitoring indicators and monitoring system for college English teaching quality. Under the guidance of effective monitoring indicators, teachers’ teaching concepts can be updated and improved in real time to achieve better teaching results. At the same time, the quality assurance and monitoring system of college English teaching can be continuously improved to make it more perfect. The English classroom teaching quality evaluation could be deemed as a classic multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problem. Spherical fuzzy sets (SFSs) can excavate the uncertainty and fuzziness in MAGDM more effectively and deeply. This article we first present a novel score function to compare spherical fuzzy numbers (SFNs) more directly and efficiently. Then, on basis of evaluation based on distance from average solution (EDAS), a novel spherical fuzzy EDAS (SF-EDAS) method is built for dealing with MAGDM. Moreover, when the attribute weights are completely unknown, the MEthod based on the Removal Effects of Criteria (MEREC) is extended to spherical fuzzy environment (SFE) to reasonably acquire the attribute weights. Finally, SF-EDAS approach is used for English classroom teaching quality evaluation to prove practicability of the developed method and compare SF-EDAS method with existing methods to further demonstrate its legitimacy and superiority.

A series of experiments are conducted to measure the accuracy and effectiveness of ChatGPT in answering questions from various subject areas and difficulty levels in two popular MOOCs platforms, edX and Coursera. The role of educational technology in developing the cognitive and communicative skills of university students: A Saudi Arabian case

This academic research explores the transformative potential of educational technology platforms, including virtual reality, gamification, and artificial intelligence, in revolutionizing the education sector. Existing literature has indicated that educational technology holds the promise of enhancing cognitive and communicative skills among university students. However, a research gap exists, as previous studies have primarily concentrated on school children, leaving a dearth of empirical evidence in this specific context. To address this gap, our current study conducted a comprehensive survey of 305 university students in Saudi Arabia. Employing quantitative methods, we assessed the impact of educational technology on university students' cognitive and communication skills, yielding noteworthy findings. The results revealed a significant positive influence of educational technology on both cognitive (p-value 0.016) and communication skills (p-value 0.014) among university students in Saudi Arabia. This research significantly contributes to the existing literature by highlighting the importance of educational technology's accessibility and effective utilization in fostering the development of university students' cognitive and communication abilities. Furthermore, it sheds light on the implications of these findings for Saudi Arabia, a nation that has made considerable investments in educational technology and the accreditation of academic programs at its universities. Additionally, the study's outcomes suggest that educational technology can play a crucial role in facilitating the accreditation of academic programs in Saudi Arabian universities through its positive impact on university students' cognitive and communicative capabilities. This insight holds the potential to further advance the educational landscape in the country and beyond, emphasizing the need for continued integration and optimal utilization of educational technology in higher education settings.
