Analysis of Language Arts in Japanese Language and Literature in a Cross-Cultural Context

In the contemporary era of rapid globalization, cross-cultural communication has had a profound impact on the language arts of Japanese language and literature. This paper explores the language arts in Japanese language and literature from the perspective of cross-cultural communication, focusing on how different cultural elements have been integrated into Japanese language and literature under the background of globalization, and how this integration has changed the use of vocabulary, syntactic structure, rhetorical patterns and expressive techniques, and the creation of contexts and the construction of imagery in the Japanese language. Cross-cultural influences have not only led Japanese language and literature to innovate in form but also to become richer and more precise in conveying deep cultural and emotional expressions. The significance of these changes for future research and practice of Japanese language and literature is conducive to the promotion of intercultural understanding and communication through literature. These findings not only enhance the appreciation of Japanese language and literature but also strengthen the role of literature as a bridge in global cultural exchange.

A Study of College English Curriculum Innovation from the Perspective of Cross-cultural Communication

With the acceleration of globalization, cross-cultural communication has become an indispensable part of people's daily life. Effective cross-cultural communication requires an in-depth understanding and mastery of language habits, values and social norms in different cultural backgrounds. However, for a long time, college English teaching in our country has always focused on the imparting of language knowledge, lacking in-depth discussion of cultural factors such as history, humanities, and folk customs of English-speaking countries, which often leads to misunderstandings and obstacles in cross-cultural communication among students. Therefore, strengthening cultural communication in college English teaching will help students understand and use English better, and improve their cross-cultural communication ability. This study focuses on the innovation and practice of college English teaching models in the context of cross-cultural communication. Through an in-depth analysis of the current college English teaching models, it is found that the traditional teaching models have limitations in cross-cultural communication, and cannot meet the needs of cultivating students' cross-cultural communicative competence under the background of globalization. Therefore, this study proposes a series of innovative college English teaching models aimed at improving students' cross-cultural awareness, cross-cultural communicative competence and comprehensive English use ability.

The Application of Non-language Symbols in Japanese Games from the Perspective of Cross Cultural Communication--Take”Animal Crossing” as an Example

In cross-cultural communication in electronic games, non-language symbols’ application scope and methods are very diverse. Studying the design and application of non-language symbols in Japanese games in cross-cultural communication can assist Chinese games in going global and contribute to the dissemination of excellent traditional Chinese culture. This article takes “Animal Crossing” as an example to analyze how nonverbal symbols are used in cross-cultural communication from scene, character, and plot setting. Finding that non-language symbols in the game assist language symbols, integrate players’ feelings, shape a complete scene, and promote cultural exchanges. It is concluded that Chinese games can build a perfect non-language symbol system from three aspects: digging deeply into the culture with national characteristics, looking for universal non-language symbols, and using non-language symbols from multiple perspectives so as to achieve the goal of cross-cultural communication.

Pragmatic Transfer in Second Language Acquisition in Intercultural Communication

Pragmatic transfer refers to the phenomenon where individuals apply the pragmatic rules and conventions of their first language to the second language during intercultural communication. Pragmatic transfer can result in communication failures, thereby affecting the effectiveness and rapport in communication. Consequently, investigating pragmatic transfer is of paramount importance for enhancing cross-cultural communicative competence and instructional quality. Previous research has predominantly focused on the definition, types, causes, influencing factors, and evaluation methods of pragmatic transfer. Nevertheless, there are still deficiencies and controversies regarding how to effectively avoid or reduce pragmatic transfer and incorporate it into foreign language teaching. In fact, research on pragmatic transfer from a cross-cultural communication perspective necessitates both theoretical deepening of the understanding and comprehension of pragmatic transfer and practical exploration of preventive and instructional strategies to enhance the cross-cultural communicative competence of foreign language learners. Therefore, this paper delineates the relevant theories and empirical studies in this field, summarizes the impact of pragmatic transfer on second language acquisition, and aspires that the ensuing conclusions will promote the development of foreign language education.

With the advancement of globalization, international communication skills are becoming increasingly important in the cultivation of English major students. This study explores the connotation, cultivation strategies, and methods of international communication ability among English major students from the perspective of cross-cultural communication. Through literature review and teaching practice research, this paper aims to explore some effective ways to cultivate international communication competence, in order to improve the cross-cultural communication skills and international competitiveness of English major students.

A Comparison of Chinese and British Tea Cultures from the Perspective of Cross-Cultural Communication and the “Tea Language” Translation

As the Chinese saying goes, “The seven necessities of life: firewood, rice, oil, salt, soy sauce, vinegar and tea”, which shows the important place the tea occupies in the hearts of the Chinese. With the advent of globalization, countries all over the world have gradually become an organically integrated economic and cultural whole, and China’s tea has travelled across the ocean to the west, developing a unique and exotic western tea culture. Despite the fact that British tea comes from China, there are significant differences in tea culture between the two countries. This paper explores the deeper reasons behind the differences between Chinese and British tea culture through a comparative analysis and put forward some strategies and methods for the translation of “tea language” based on these cultural differences. The differences between Chinese and British tea culture are discussed in terms of the development of tea culture, tea drinking etiquette and the spirit of the tea ceremony, which are created by the differences in cultural background and ideology. Analyzing Chinese and British tea culture from different aspects enables us to make better use of tea culture and observe tea drinking etiquette in cross-cultural communication, reduce the language barrier formed in translation and understanding, and reduce the cultural conflict, thus promoting the exchange and development between Chinese and British tea culture and making tea culture shine on the world stage.

On Foreign Translation of Chinese Agricultural Classics from the Perspective of Intercultural Communication

The classics have always been a relatively important part of Chinese traditional culture, and the vast number of classics is the main carrier of Chinese traditional culture. At the same time, the translation of agricultural texts is an indispensable part of Chinese culture to go out and enhance its communication power and influence. Through the translation of agricultural classics texts into English, the target readers who lack Chinese cultural background or have insufficient cultural background can recognize the excellent Chinese traditional culture. While the number of agricultural texts is relatively small compared with other fields and has not been given due attention. Moreover, Chinese agricultural texts are mostly in literary languages, which are not only difficult to understand but also require strong professional translations. The Qi Min Yao Shu is one of the most complete books on agriculture in China, reflecting the knowledge of agricultural science accumulated by the working people of China before the sixth century, and is a treasure of knowledge on agriculture. From the perspective of cross-cultural communication, the foreign translations of culturally loaded words, agricultural terms, sentences, and styles in the Qi Min Yao Shu are studied with typical cases selected from them. Finally, the significance of the study of the foreign translation of Chinese agricultural texts is that: (1) according to different translation methods, the translation principles of agricultural texts are summarized (2) this thesis can enrich the number of foreign translations of agricultural texts and serve as a reference for later research.

A Comparative Study of the Publicity Strategies of the Japanese Animated Film “Suzume” from the Perspective of Cross-cultural Communication

As a special narrative medium, films play an indispensable role in cross-cultural communication of excellent local culture and obtaining cultural identity. From the perspective of cross-cultural communication, this paper compares and analyzes the content of the publicity of the Japanese animated film “Suzume” in Japanese and Chinese media platforms, and explores the characteristics of the film's publicity in China. By comparing the publicity bias in different countries, this paper looks at the way the film is publicized, and ultimately analyzes the appropriate path for the film's transnational cross-cultural communication.

Research on the Empathy Strategy of Intangible Cultural Heritage Short Videos from the Perspective of Cross-cultural Communication

Intangible cultural heritage has important cultural value in the world, but due to cultural differences, language barriers and other reasons, its inheritance and promotion have been limited. The empathy strategy of short videos of intangible cultural heritage (SVOICH) from the perspective of cross-cultural communication can help the audience better understand and appreciate the intangible cultural heritage of different cultures. The experimental results show that the application of short video empathy strategy can improve the audience's emotional engagement and sense of identity. The average emotional engagement of the audience is 50% higher than that of the audience without short video empathy strategy, and the average sense of identity is 35% higher than that of the audience without short video empathy strategy. These results indicate that the empathy strategy of SVOICH from the perspective of cross-cultural communication can promote cross-cultural communication and interaction, and realize the inheritance and promotion of intangible cultural heritage.

Analysis of College English Reading Teaching from the Perspective of Cross-cultural Communication

With the development of globalization and the surging demand for foreign language talents, it is particularly significant to foster intercultural communicative awareness and enhance intercultural communicative competence. Undoubtedly, English reading serves as a crucial part of English learning, and improving the ability of English reading is also one of the important ways to cultivate students' cross-cultural communicative competence. However, both linguistic and non-linguistic differences between Chinese and English create cross-cultural barriers to English reading. Therefore, this paper probes into the training strategies for college English reading ability from the perspective of cross-cultural communication, so as to better train college students' cross-cultural English reading ability and further improve the teaching level of college English reading. All in all, this paper has indicated that teachers should not only introduce some cultural context to learners, but also help build up their cross-cultural awareness in foreign language teaching. Only by combining these two steps mentioned above can the purpose of cross-cultural communication be exactly achieved.

Based on the perspective of cross-cultural communication, this paper analyzes the differences in the connotation of animal and plant words in Chinese and Western cultures, aiming to further improve cross-cultural communication awareness and translation ability.
