The article examines and reviews the construction practice of the two largest film studios of the East and West, as well as the studio of Ukraine. The importance of building a “cinema village” on the territory of the studios, establishing an entertainment sector for visitors, an office area and a residential area was studied. The layout of these studios, their location and development prospects were reviewed and analyzed. The peculiarities of each of the film studios are considered. Their advantages, which are planned to be used in the design of the thesis in the future, are analyzed. The materials on the perspective of the development of the considered film studios and their generalization for the further application of this information in design were reviewed. The purpose of the study is the analysis of foreign and domestic experience in the design and operation of cinema complexes. Research methods: analysis of literary sources, study and generalization of obtained information, study and analysis of architectural and construction practice, synthesis of obtained information, comparative analysis, method of analogies. Results: Projecting practice of film studios of different countries and sizes was analyzed. The regularities of the volume of construction of film towns in relation to the capacity of studios are characterized. The influence of film towns on the design of film studios and tourism to them has been clarified. Scientific novelty: the factors affecting the architectural and planning organization of cinema complexes have been identified and characterized. Practical significance: this article can be used when designing a film studio and when conducting research on this topic.
