The Meta-verse in Higher Education in Mexico seeks to define, analyze, and identify how higher education institutions are facing Meta-verses. This study also suggests a thorough evaluation of the scientific literature, including recent studies from numerous specialized databases on the Metaverse in higher education. An exploratory systematic literature review study of an educational phenomena was conducted using the methodological design. where the findings of different research are content analyzed. The research findings suggest that Mexican higher education institutions are progressively incorporating a variety of pedagogical methods, such as content digitization, online learning platforms, augmented reality, lifelogging, mirror world, and virtual reality. Nevertheless, opportunities and challenges are noted. The first includes opposition to change, increased spending on digital skills, technology infrastructure, and global vision; the second includes learning personalization, interinstitutional cooperation, virtual reality, and mirror worlds. Finally, the study offers a useful framework for further investigation to direct choices on educational technology.
