Research on Crisis Management in Universities in the New Media Era

Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to improve the crisis management system of universities, establish a crisis management mechanism, and further maintain and strengthen the harmony and stability of universities. Design/Methodology/Approach - Based on the perspective of new media, this paper analyses the new characteristics and laws of current crises based on case studies and crisis management theories, examines the current environment faced by universities, and improves the crisis management system of universities. Findings - This paper studies the research on crisis management in universities in the new media era. Research Implications - To establish a crisis management mechanism in colleges and universities, further maintain and strengthen the harmony and stability of colleges and universities, and ensure the smooth operation of all work in colleges and universities.

College Physical Education Course Management System Based on Internet of Things

With the continuous development of the Internet of Things technology, the latest information technology represented by the network, digital, and intelligence is changing people’s work, learning, and lifestyle and bringing new development space to education. The physical education curriculum management system in colleges and universities brings convenience to teachers and students, facilitates the centralized management of students by teachers, ensures the safety of students in physical education classes, and reduces the risk of injury to students in physical education classes. The innovative construction of college physical education curriculum is a systematic project, which aims to deepen educational reform, improve the physical condition of students, and enable students to experience advanced teaching methods. At the same time, university physical education teachers have a degree of higher education, provide information, and promote interaction with students. This improves the quality and ability of teachers and students themselves. The paper proposes related research on the design of college physical education curriculum management system based on the Internet of Things. Through the use of Internet of Things wireless channel technology and UWB indoor positioning technology, combined with the impact of the Internet of Things on cognition, the arrangement of physical education courses and student positioning and sign-in are designed, and the results of the system test are found. Compared with the previous system,. this system has improved the positioning and sign-in accuracy of physical education courses by 5–10%, and the efficiency of physical education courses has also increased by 2–5%.

Human Resource Allocation Based on Fuzzy Data Mining Algorithm

Data mining is currently a frontier research topic in the field of information and database technology. It is recognized as one of the most promising key technologies. Data mining involves multiple technologies, such as mathematical statistics, fuzzy theory, neural networks, and artificial intelligence, with relatively high technical content. The realization is also difficult. In this article, we have studied the basic concepts, processes, and algorithms of association rule mining technology. Aiming at large-scale database applications, in order to improve the efficiency of data mining, we proposed an incremental association rule mining algorithm based on clustering, that is, using fast clustering. First, the feasibility of realizing performance appraisal data mining is studied; then, the business process needed to realize the information system is analyzed, the business process-related links and the corresponding data input interface are designed, and then the data process to realize the data processing is designed, including data foundation and database model. Aiming at the high efficiency of large-scale database mining, database development tools are used to implement the specific system settings and program design of this algorithm. Incorporated into the human resource management system of colleges and universities, they carried out successful association broadcasting, realized visualization, and finally discovered valuable information.

Risks and opportunities of the process "Data management of the university quality management system"

The article discusses the results of the analysis and risk assessment of data management in the State University of Land Use Planning. The aim of the work was to manage the risks and opportunities of this process to enhance the impact of favorable events, mitigate unwanted risks and reduce the likelihood of their occurrence. This contributes to the improvement of university performance and increased satisfaction of interested parties. The article is intended for process managers of the quality management system (QMS) of higher education, as well as for specialists involved in managing the risks and capabilities of the QMS processes.

Design of Teaching Video Resource Management System in Colleges and Universities based on Microtechnology

The video management system in colleges and universities has become one of the most important platforms for video communication. In order to improve the storage and sharing of teaching video resource system in colleges and universities, this paper designs a teaching video resource management system based on micro grid technology. Through the construction of microtechnology + NAS network storage, the video network storage is realized, and the network sharing efficiency is improved. In addition, ASP.NET is used to develop video release and on-demand module, to meet the needs of users; through a variety of terminals in the presentation layer to display the relevant content, the design of video resource management system in line with the teaching needs of colleges and universities is completed. The experimental results show that the image processed by the system is smooth and delicate, the tone is realistic, and the system has good storage performance and high sharing efficiency.

College ERP Using MERN Stack

This paper is aimed at developing an Online College Management System that is of importance to the educational institute or college. This system is named College ERP using MERN stack. This system may be used to monitor college students and their various activities. This application is being developed for an engineering college to maintain and facilitate ease of access to information. For this the users must be registered with the system. College ERP is an Internet based application that aims at providing information to all levels of management within an organization. This system is used as an information management system for the college. For a given student and staff (technical and non-technical) can access the system to either upload and access some information from the database.

Factors Influencing Implementation of Performance Management Programmes in South African Universities

Performance management is a concept that helps in the improvement of results by providing the means for individuals to perform well within an agreed framework of planned goals, standards and competency requirements. It includes developing an understanding about what needs to be achieved and how it must be achieved. Hence, the aim of this study was to review the factors influencing implementation of performance management programmes in South African Universities. This study was a conceptual study that examined the factors that influence successful implementation of performance management programmes, and classified the importance of a performance management system in South African Universities. An archival investigation was used to conduct the study through in-depth study of past literatures, such as textbooks, newspaper articles, company websites, journals and conference publications. This approach was chosen because it was the most effective method to carry out an informative review of the factors that influence successful implementation of performance management programmes, and classify the importance of a performance management system in South African Universities. In this study, the researchers reported that performance management implementation is influenced by a number of factors which include but not limited to shortage of staffs in the human resource department. In addition, human resource personnel require training on how performance management should be implemented. The study also reported that there is only a partial trust in the relationship between managers and the staffs. In other words, employees often resist the implementation of performance management and are either ready or educated about the performance management system. However, if properly adopted, the study suggested that effective implementation of performance management system will improve employees and organisational performance. Such policy must be discussed with all stakeholders so that they will not be caught unaware. Hence, performance management needs to be piloted before final implementation. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that the orientation of the transformation processes of Russian universities is aimed at forming a new management model that takes into account globalization processes, both in foreign economic activity and in the technological field in the context of society digitalization. The purpose of this study is to analyze the best practices of university management in the context of digital transformation. The experience and result of the implementation of neurolearning, artificial intelligence, chat bots and other digital and resource-saving technologies in the educational and business processes of the university are presented. This study proves that digital technologies can give impetus to the development of a university management system.

APPLICATION OF LEAN TECHNOLOGIES OF EDUCATIONAL PROCESS CONTROL UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF EPIDEMIOLOGICAL UNCERTAINTY

The article discusses the relevance of the implementation of lean production principles in higher education institutions and their impact on the educational process in pandemic conditions. The SQDCM format is considered as an effective model providing management by objectives, connection with safety, quality, costs, and corporate culture. Value is seen as the most important category of lean management, which serves as a basis for self -organization of faculty and staff, and students in higher education institutions. The authors pay attention to the process of lean principles’ implementation in educational process, with Udmurt State University setting an example. Since having formed the values over the recent years, Udmurt State University has been able to effectively change educational processes in the settings of epidemiological uncertainty that has arisen in pandemic in Russia and around the world. The authors conclude, that lean approaches to building a university management system allow to maintain student involvement in educational activities, to see new opportunities for interaction in organizing the educational process and to master new valuable competencies, thus, to maintain a high level of education quality.

Cultivating students with innovative ability is not only the internal requirement of realizing China's modernization, but also an important embodiment of improving the quality of higher education. To improve the level of higher education, deepen the reform of university education system, and cultivate students with innovative ability are the core and basic points of innovation and development of colleges in China. This paper discusses the relationship between the cultivation of innovative talents and the reform of management system in colleges. By using the method of literature, it analyzes the restrictive factors of cultivating students' innovative ability, and puts forward corresponding suggestions. It also points out that the reform of university management system is of great significance to the cultivation of innovative talents, the improvement of the quality of running colleges in China, and the construction of international first-class universities. The research shows that the main factors that restrict the cultivation of students' innovative ability are the influence of traditional education concept, the cultivation mode of higher education, the curriculum and teaching methods, the evaluation mechanism of students and the teaching conditions of higher education. colleges should guarantee the funds for innovative education, reform the incentive mechanism, and reform teaching methods and methods, which is of great significance to promote the cultivation of students' innovative consciousness, innovative ability and entrepreneurial spirit.

Using Blockchain in University Management Systems

lockchain stores a series of transactions in form of a sequence of linked blocks. Hence, the concept of ledger is easily maintained. Transactions and interactions that take place among participants accessing the distributed and decentralized blockchain network are holding through ledger. In a student management system (SMS), vital information can be highly shared and well protected at the same time. This paper proposes a model for using blockchains to implement fully functional SMS that maintains students’ records, course registrations record and student marks. The proposed model adds more security via the use of hashing and data readily available with decentralized data storage. In addition, the use of ledger-based system to maintain SMS data introduces reliable and highly trusted model.

Point prevalence survey of antimicrobial consumption and resistance: 2015-2018 longitudinal survey results from Nigeria

Background: Nigeria joined the global community in monitoring antimicrobial prescribing practices since 2015. Results of individual hospital Global Point Prevalence Survey (Global-PPS) have stimulated efforts at instituting hospital-based antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) programmes. We report the trends of antimicrobial prescribing rates and quality indicators for 3 surveillance periods; 2015, 2017 and 2018.Methodology: The web-based Global-PPS for surveillance of antimicrobial use in hospitals (www.globalpps.com) was completed by each participating hospital site for all inpatients receiving antimicrobials on a selected day in 2015, 2017 and 2018. Data included details on antimicrobial agents, reasons and indications for treatment and a set of quality prescribing indicators. Data were validated by the web-based data management system of University of Antwerp, exported into Microsoft Excel and analyzed with EPI INFO version 7.2.Results: Thirteen hospitals participated in the survey involving a total of 5,174 inpatients. Mean weighted overall antimicrobial prescribing prevalence was 70.7% which declined over the years from 71.7% in 2015 to 59.1% in 2018 (p<0.001). The rate of documentation of date for post prescription review improved from 27.9% in 2015 to 48.5% in 2018 (p<0.001) while the rates of targeted treatment declined from 12.0% in 2015 to 5.2% in 2018 (p<0.001). There was no significant change in the choice of parenteral drug administration (64.5% in 2015, 65.1% in 2017 and 62.6% in 2018; p=0.6803), and but there was significant increase in documentation of reasons for prescription in case notes (62.2% in 2015, 74.5% in 2017, and 70.9% in 2018; p=0.008). Overall, the main indications for therapeutic prescribing were skin and soft tissue infections (20.8%), sepsis (15.9%) and pneumonia (11.6%). The top three antibiotics for therapeutic use were ceftriaxone (18.2%), metronidazole (15.3%) and ciprofloxacin (10.4%).Conclusions: The survey showed reduction in the overall antimicrobial prescribing rate especially in hospitals that had introduced AMS programmes. Among the quality prescribing indicators, documentation of post prescription review date showed improvement. The Global-PPS serves as a cost effective, flexible and userfriendly tool in instituting AMS programmes in hospitals.

Correlation analysis of College students’ achievement based on improved Apriori algorithm

A large amount of student achievement information has been accumulated in the teaching information management system of colleges. It is of great significance to use data mining technology to analyze the data and find out the potential value of the data.The basic idea and defects of the Apriori algorithm are described in this paper, an improved Apriori algorithm is proposed,which is used to analyze the course scores of all students in the software engineering major of a university in 2018, and dig out the relationship between scores and courses, so as to provide learning guidance for students, provide teaching reference for teachers, and have certain guiding significance for the quality of talent cultivation in colleges and universities.

Insights into the Positive Role of a Higher Education Institution in the Prevention of Misinformation During Pandemics: The Health Committee Model During COVID-19

In Lebanon, with COVID-19 cases escalating and national efforts exhausted in the containment of the pandemic, calls were made for increased awareness, scientific literacy, and the debunking of false information. This article sheds light on the positive role that a private University can play in spreading scientifically-authenticated, health-related, awareness through the community. The Lebanese International University (LIU) has 9 campuses distributed across all Lebanese Governorates with an extensive communications platform that takes advantage of LIU’s website, University Management System, several Facebook pages with thousands of followers, and many WhatsApp groups. LIU has over 34,000 undergraduate and graduate students, in addition to a little over a thousand faculty and staff members. The University capitalized on this extensive network to play a positive role in delivering authenticated health-related information to the University’s greater community. A health committee comprised of multidisciplinary educators, mostly from the fields of medicine and health sciences, was established to act as a health advisory panel to the University Council and to raise awareness among the University’s larger community. An extensive health awareness campaign was launched through activities and the sharing of the material of different formats aimed at providing accurate information on infection prevention, and disseminating authentic and accurate health-related guidelines and recommendations during the pandemic. This compendium aims to summarize the role of the health committee in meeting the various challenges created by the emergence of COVID-19 in our community, and highlights its influence and future perspectives.

Ecosystem designing for the development of universities in a digital environment

The digitalization of economic relations determines the particular importance of personnel training on a qualitatively new technological basis, which is inextricably linked with the study of the problem of ecosystem designing for the development of universities in a digital environment. The foundations of the systems theory, the theory of education economics, the methods of system analysis, factor analysis, and economic and mathematical modeling were used for studying the problem of ecosystem development for universities. The conducted studies made it possible to obtain the following main research results: the ecosystem principles for organizing the provision of higher education services, representing the integrity of the university system based on network interactions of a set of various participants, as well as objects, projects, processes, and environments, were proposed. An approach to designing a strategy for the development of universities, based on the scenario forecasting of the receptivity of digital economy competencies by students, teachers, and partners of universities in the medium term, is proposed based on the organigram for the implementation of the project of matrix digital transformation of the adhocratic university hierarchy. The conclusions stating that the design of the ecosystem of the development of universities should be aimed at the implementation of the social mission of the university in the region and the transformation of the ecosystem of the region as a whole are formulated. As prospects for further research, the study of the prerequisites for generating the effects of designing the development of a university ecosystem based on the network platform interaction of the economic agents of the region/territory, as well as the implementation of digital transformation projects of the university management system, is considered.

An Information System Design Product Theory for Student Academic Self-Service University Management System

The role of Information System Design Theory in software development is enormous. With the help of design theory, developers could estimate how the system will be and the reasons why the system reacts that way. The focus of the article is to revised and re-establish the design theory of a self-service university management system. The objectives of this publication are to identify the most relevant publication that will act as a guideline to generate the design theory artifacts and to establish the artifacts which will consist of three components named kernel theory, meta-requirements, and meta-design for the stated system. The system scope will be focused on enabling self-service functions. Validation will be done through FEDS framework with the inclusion of a traceability matrix between the meta-requirement against the real-world user requirement. The significance of this article is to provide an initial set of design theory artifacts to be utilized by software developers in the development or evaluation of a University Management System.
