The magneto-optical (M-O) properties of a Co/Pt multilayered film (MF) and a Co/Pd MF were investigated. Three optical models for the Co/Pt MF were considered. Reflectivity (R), transmissivity (T), Kerr rotation angle (θK) and Faraday rotation angle (θF) of the MF were measured and those results were compared with the calculation ones of each model. From the comparison, it was found that the almost alloyed model was suitable for the M-O effect of the Co/Pt MF.
