Objectives This study is a descriptive research to identify the effects of job stress, competency, and job environment on burnout and the mediating effects of competency and job environment in Mental health welfare center workers.
 Methods In October 2023, data were collected through online survey for 119 Mental health welfare center workers in the G-do area. Using the IBM SPSS 25.0 program, the collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, regression analysis, and Sobel test.
 Results As a result of the study, job stress, competency and job environment of Mental health welfare center workers had a significant effect on burnout, and the explanatory power was 45.7%(F=32.284, p<.001). Additionally, competency(Z=2.291, p=.021) and job environment(Z=6.553, p<.001) found to have a significant partial mediating effect in the relationship between job stress and burnout.
 Conclusions In order to reduce the burnout of mental health welfare center workers, it is necessary to come up with a plan to reduce job stress. Measures to reduce job stress must include training programs that can improve capabilities and interventions that can improve the work environment, and these systematic measures can contribute to reducing burnout.
