Practical work as a means of implementing an activity-based approach to teaching biology in high school at the profile level

The article deals with the problem of forming subject competence in the application of an activity-based approach to the study of biology in high school. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to identify and substantiate specific examples of the application of the activity approach in the course of practical work in biology in the 10th grade of high school at the specialized level. It is shown that the current stage is preparatory to the implementation of the education reform in Ukraine (New Ukrainian School) in high school. Research methods: theoretical (analysis and synthesis, generalization, comparison, etc.), which were used to identify the peculiarities of using practical work in high school biology lessons; empirical (pedagogical observation) - to finalize the conclusions and prospects for further research. It is indicated that practical work in biology, provided in the school curriculum for grades 10-11 at the specialized level, provides ample opportunities for the formation of skills and abilities necessary for life in modern society. The article identifies the topics of specific practical works from the general list of them in the school curriculum in the topics "Introduction" and "Biodiversity". The possible ways and methodology of their implementation for the effective formation of subject competence in biology are shown. The implementation of these practical works involves the analytical activity of students, their identification of important components in the general array of biological information, the use of various sources and means to obtain information with the subsequent critical assessment of their reliability. It is recommended to use a number of modern mobile applications that simplify the process of plant identification - Plant Identifier & Care, Planti: Plant Care, Lovely: plants care journal, etc. The article notes that the practical work "Calculation of basic statistical indicators for comparing the variability of biological objects" is the basis for the formation of critical thinking skills and the application of the method of scientific knowledge, which is defined in the school curriculum as the expected learning outcomes. The author emphasizes the expediency of using the group method of teaching during practical work not only for the effective implementation of the activity approach, but also for the formation of students' communicative competence. The examples and methodology of performing certain practical works given in the article will help teachers to effectively use the activity approach to achieve the expected results of teaching biology to high school students at the profile level.

Model of Formation of Communicative Competences of Students-Programmers in the Process of Joint Activity

Effective professional activity in the digital era is based on the ability to make decisions, willingness to cooperate and skills to manage emotional intelligence. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the training of IT-specialists and create conditions for the formation of their communicative competences. The purpose of the article is to discuss the results of the development of the model of the process of forming communicative competences of software engineering students in collaborative activities. The research methodology includes competence-based, constructivist, network approach, personality-oriented approach and activity-based approaches. The method of pedagogical modeling was used, which allowed to correlate the existing and ideal characteristics of the educational process under study, to identify and outline ways to improve it in the context of professional activity in the IT-sphere. The development of the model was carried out taking into account the technology of “blended learning”. Research results. The model of the process of formation of communicative competence of students-programmers includes the target block, in which the personal goals of education, the standard of specialty 09.02.07 “Information Systems and Programming”, the requirements of employers to the professional activity of programmers are indicated; the organizational-activity block, including diagnostic and activity-forming activities; the result-criterial block, including criteria and indicators of assessment of communicative competence. Conclusion. Communicative competences of students-programmers include knowledge of psychological bases of communication and possession of virtual communication skills, active participation in teamwork, skills of constructive interaction, organizational skills, readiness for interaction, orientation to self-improvement in interaction, self-motivation skills, self-regulation skills, self-control, conflict resolution. The process of formation of communicative competences of students-programmers is carried out in the educational activity on the basis of learning in cooperation as a type of joint activity, providing students’ motivation for constructive interaction, increasing the performance of academic tasks, individual responsibility, eliminating the barriers of interaction through the use of flexible planning strategy and organization of virtual teamwork based on the principles of Agile-methodology and Scrum-method.

Digital methods of formation students’ communicative competence

Relevance. Digitalization has now covered all sectors of public life and has become an integral part of the education system. The development of digital technologies in the field of education is dictated by relevance and is supported at the state level and by the general public. This article discusses effective digital methods in the formation of students' communicative competence in online English classes. Optimization of the university's communication space is highlighted as an important condition. The purpose of the study is to consider the problems of introducing digital technologies of the Google classroom platform into the field of online higher education. Research methods. During the training process, we used the free Google Classroom web service. We tried to create a friendly atmosphere using warm-up exercises and creative tasks. We participate in this event as equal participants for paired work in classes with students or observe students in the field of “Physical Education” and stay on the sidelines to help them. The results of the study. The developed methodology of distance learning, a model for the formation of digital skills, a methodical system of exercises and textbooks on the formation of students' communicative competence are presented. Conclusions. The effectiveness of the model for the formation of professionally oriented speech activity of students was ensured by the joint efforts of the teacher and the student.

Gamification techniques in Maritime English online courses: Motivating learners in virtual environments

The research is conducted to solve the problem of students' motivation while m-learning, namely while Maritime English online courses on LMS MOODLE. Gamification techniques are listed in the paper. The advantages of m-learning with gamification are described. The following activities are listed to motivate and engage students in Maritime English m-learning: leaderboards, badges, points, levels, missions, maps, and scenarios. The research was conducted in higher maritime education institutions in Ukraine. The research results show the positive impact of gamification while m-learning on the formation of communicative competence of future ship engineers. The prospects of further research can be seen in analysing other m-learning techniques to raise the quality of Maritime English online courses (e.g. game-based learning, problem-based learning).

Formation of Subject Competencies of Future Philologists by Teaching Spelling through a Model System

The article considers the formation of subject competencies of future philologists by teaching Kazakh spelling in higher educational institutions through a model-based approach. It was believed that the combination of teaching spelling modeling norms at a university with the formation of communicative competencies of a future teacher of the Kazakh language opens the way to the development of professional competence In the course of the experiment, the principles of communicativeness, intelligibility and interest in knowledge, and conscientiousness were taken into account in the organization of work in this direction. It was noted that the ability to organize oral, written assignments and multimedia format projects in the form of paired, group and team work has a special place for future language teachers. First, the students felt the benefits of working together, got along with each other and perfectly understood the techniques of teamwork. They were aware of the system of skills they needed, the mechanisms for learning and teaching them. This created a prerequisite for the conscious assimilation of knowledge. It was taken into account that the correct application of the basic requirements for a future teacher plays an important role in the development of his professional competencies. It was suggested that if the requirements for modeling training are met and the relevant characteristics are identified, the opportunities for the development of professional-cognitive, professional-intellectual, professional-cultural competencies of the student will increase. In addition, when studying the spelling of the Kazakh language, the culture of speech, general communication, their mental abilities and behavior were taken into account. When modeling, it was taken into consideration that the development of a student's thinking is as important as the improvement of his speech skills. The attention was drawn to the fact that modeling training occupies a special role in the development of communicative and cognitive, subject competencies of future professionals.

The significance of digital technologies in fostering the development of communicative competence among the prospective doctors

Future doctors are expected to possess a high level of professional skills, as reflected by their acquisition of proficient communication competence. The purpose of the article is to determine the role of digital technologies in the formation of communicative competence of prospective doctors. The objective was attained through the use of observation, analysis and weight coefficient, efficiency coefficient, Spearman's correlation coefficient. It was established that the development of communicative competence skills primarily allows to ensure the relevant orientation to the communication conditions (1.6) as well as informativity (1.53). To cultivate the communication proficiencies of prospective medical professionals, the authors developed corresponding approaches that included the use of digital technologies. The study of theoretical material involved the use of the SlideDog application; conducting practical classes via Medvoice Platform. The formation of professional competence involved the role-playing of relevant situations, based on the materials of the Pediatric Dentistry Academy, CARE-NExT-PG. After determining the level of students’ communication skills development in Group 1 (40.2) and Group 2 (40.1), it was established that they attained a high level. The development of communication skills contributed to the formation of students’ communication and social skills, as well as skills of abstract thinking and statistical information processing. The practical significance of the study lies in the elaboration of effective approaches to the development of prospective doctors’ communication skills drawing on the use of digital technologies. Research perspectives may be linked to the comparison of the level of communicative competence among medical students across various academic levels.

Репрезентация культурной идентичности студентов в рамках дисциплины «Межкультурная коммуникация»

This article examines the representation of the cultural identity of political science students within the discipline “Intercultural Communication” in several aspects (“I” - “Other”, group culture, discourse and pragmatics). The article emphasizes the need to rethink such concepts as “group culture”, “identity”, “political discourse” and “intercultural competence” for the development of cultural identity and the formation of intercultural communicative competence of future political scientists in accordance with modern realities. The article examines how a written text (essay) represents the cultural identity of students in situations of intercultural interaction, what markers activate cultural identity in intercultural communication, and determines the extent to which the intercultural communication of interlocutors depends on the influence of their cultural identity. The research data were collected from 25 students of the Political Science major studying in 2023–2024. Although the results of the study are not conclusive, they indicate that cultural identity dominates students' ethnocentric views and that stereotypes continue to influence the negotiation of identities in intercultural communication.

Topical Issues of Methodology of Developing Mentor’s Communication Competence Through Teaching Foreign Languages

Introduction. The authors highlight the main problems of the formation and development of the communication training of mentors within the multicultural specifics of the regional education spaces. The paper proposes an analysis of some aspects for improving the methodology of forming the readiness of an experienced teacher to transfer his/her experience for productive interaction with their colleagues. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the model for the formation of communication competence of mentors for teaching foreign languages within the multicultural specifics of the regional education spaces. Materials and Methods. The methodology focuses on the framework of a lingua-didactic approach based on a historical approach, which assumes both the analysis of Scientific Scholarship, and pedagogical experience in terms of a search experiment on the formation of a mentor’s readiness for socially significant and culturally creative communication to develop optimal conditions for the implementation of mentoring within the regional communicative educational spaces. Results. The authors highlight the necessity and possibilities of mentoring in different spheres of professional activities, the significance of communicative competence and readiness of a mentor to share his/her experience with others, and to monitor the post-effects of professional knowledge and skills. The results of the survey will be of use for those who investigate the likely problem areas of current education. Discussion and Conclusion. The results obtained contribute to the development of a mentoring for different areas of professional activity, because it is communicative readiness that facilitates the process of communication, exchange of experience and control of professional activities between a mentor and his mentee. The materials of the article will be useful to heads of educational organizations, representatives (employees) of institutions for advanced training and additional education of teachers.

Development of Applied Linguistics

The aim of the article is to review the development of applied linguistics in Lithuania, analyse the general tendencies of the development of this science, and present the more prominent groups of researchers in applied linguistics, the schools that have been formed or are being formed, and the contribution of some researchers to the research of different branches of applied linguistics. The article focuses on the work started after the restoration of independence of the Republic of Lithuania in 1990, because only from that time onwards did the work of Lithuanian applied linguistics enter the international mainstream of this science. It discusses some of the research and practical work related to the research that helps or has helped in certain periods to solve problems related to language in life. First of all, the article introduces the works on teaching Lithuanian as a foreign language, which are connected with the beginning of applied linguistics in Lithuania, and which have laid the appropriate methodological foundations for the formation of communicative competence, for the development of a new type of textbooks, pedagogical grammars of the Lithuanian language, and for the creation of a system of assessment of competences. After discussing the origins of applied linguistics in Lithuania, the paper discusses the further development of this science. Research in the field of language acquisition, sociolinguistics, language attrition, cognitive linguistics, pragmatics, politeness and impoliteness, corpus and forensic linguistics, and other branches of applied linguistics is presented, and the real-life linguistic issues, analysed by Lithuanian researchers, are highlighted. The final section of the article describes the most important works of dissemination of applied linguistics and presents the research journal Taikomoji kalbotyra (“Applied Linguistics”), the international conferences on applied linguistics that have taken place in Lithuania, and the networks of researchers.

Современные средства обучения русскому языку как иностранному

In the modern system of teaching RFL, an important role is given to teaching aids, tools of the educational process, ensuring the achievement of the main goal of teaching RFL – the formation of communicative competence among students. The purpose of this article is to analyze modern means of teaching RFL, assessing their effectiveness and illustrating their use in the process of teaching the disciplines “Russian Verb” to 1st-year undergraduates, “Modern means of teaching RFL” to 2nd-year undergraduates studying in the field of “Philology” (profile “Theory and practice of teaching RFL (Russian as a foreign language)”; discipline “General Proficiency” to 3rd year bachelor students of the Faculty of Philology (profile “Russian Language and Literature”) at the University of Moscow State University-PPI in Shenzhen. In the course of study, methods of observation, description, and classification were used. During the research it was established that in the modern methods of teaching RFL, the role of teaching tools increases significantly due to modern information and communication resources, Internet technologies and digital educational resources. The most relevant teaching aids have been identified and characterized (communicative RFL textbooks, information and communication tools, including university electronic libraries, the university information learning environment Moodle, electronic textbooks, corpus resources; audiovisual tools, including modern visualization techniques, etc.), their use has been illustrated in the practice of teaching various philological disciplines to Chinese philology students. It has been established that the use of the latest various teaching tools ensures the maximum inclusion of each student in the educational process, a person-oriented approach to students, the development of practical skills, an increase in the share of student independence, the development of students’ skills in setting and solving cognitive problems, structuring information flows, and applying practice of acquired knowledge, etc.

TECHNOLOGY OF FORMING COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCIES IN STUDENTS WITH HEARING DEFECT IN PRIMARY CLASS READING LESSONS

The article examines the content of the formation of communicative competencies in students with hearing loss during reading lessons in elementary school. An analysis of the level of speech development of class students was carried out in accordance with the formation of the communicative competencies of students with hearing impairments in reading lessons in primary school.

Методологические перспективы оценки эмпатической коммуникативной компетенции будущего медицинского работника

In this article, the authors identify the formation of empathic communicative competence of a medical worker as a key factor in the successful interaction of a medical worker with a patient. Empathic communicative competence promotes patient compliance with recommendations, improves the patient’s psychological state, promotes an adequate formation of the internal picture of the disease during treatment, as well as increasing the level of satisfaction with the quality of medical services. Therefore, there is a need to assess the level of empathic communicative competence and the possibility of its formation in future medical workers. This article highlights the methodological aspects of the initial diagnosis of empathic communicative competence and the identification of criteria for assessing the level of this competence among students of medical secondary specialized institutions. In this article, we discuss the results of the observation only according to the applied observation method and the corresponding tool - the observation map.

Experience of bilingual countries in the issue of mastering the minority language: effective borrowing into preschool pedagogy of Ukraine in order to form foreign language communicative competence in children of middle preschool age

The article addresses the relevant topic for Ukraine of developing foreign language communicative competence in preschool and, specifically, middle preschool age. The research aims to analyze and summarize the experience of bilingual countries in the formation of communicative competence in minority languages, as well as to determine practical boundaries for its adoption in Ukrainian preschool pedagogy with the ultimate goal to develop effective methodologies for children of middle preschool age to acquire foreign language communicative competence. In the research process, theoretical methods, such as literature and documentation analysis, were used, along with a set of general theoretical methods: abstraction and concretization, analysis and synthesis, comparison, contrast, structuring, induction, and deduction. As a result of the research, the experience of forming language communicative competence in minority languages in countries, such as Finland, Canada, Malta, and Israel, was analyzed and summarized. The main effective methods for developing communicative competence in the language of minorities in children of middle preschool age were identified, including the method of total immersion, the method of partial immersion based on the principle of one educator - one language, and the method of partial immersion based on the principle of one educator - two languages.The widespread use of the translanguaging approach and language mixing in the process of forming communicative competence in minority languages in the context of bilingual countries has been identified. The main conditions, under which the formation of communicative competence in minority languages occurs in bilingual countries, have been summarized, a comparison with similar conditions for developing foreign language communicative competence in children of middle preschool age in Ukraine has been made.It has been identified that the main contextual difference in Ukraine is the extensive geographical distribution of a foreign language that influences children's understanding of its practical significance and the possibility of live communication with it. A conclusion has been drawn regarding the necessity of carefully transferring the experience of bilingual countries in using the translanguaging approach during the formation of foreign language communicative competence in Ukraine, since this caution is warranted because its application may result in a decrease in the motivation of children of middle preschool age to acquire a foreign language, given the possibility of achieving communication goals through their native language. The main assets of the studied bilingual countries that can be effectively borrowed by the preschool pedagogy of Ukraine in the process of developing methods for the formation of foreign language communicative competence in children of middle preschool age are highlighted, as a normative consolidation of the method of such formation, taking into account the greater effectiveness of early and total immersion in comparison with other forms of mastery of children of middle preschool age in a foreign language, managing groups of children with different levels of foreign language speaking competence and the practice of introducing children with an insignificant level of competence in a foreign language into groups with a higher level of foreign language communicative competence

СТВОРЕННЯ АНГЛОМОВНОГО ЦИФРОВОГО ОСВІТНЬОГО СЕРЕДОВИЩА ДЛЯ ДІТЕЙ ДОШКІЛЬНОГО ВІКУ: ЛІНГВОДИДАКТИЧНИЙ АСПЕКТ

Recent changes in the Ukrainian language policy have drawn public attention to the issue of shaping an English-speaking digital learning environment for preschool children and have urged researchers to examine the matter from the standpoint of linguodidactics. The pedagogical benefits of mastering English as a second language by preschoolers alongside their mother tongue and their native culture have been studied. A thorough analysis of language acquisition theories has been made in the article. In the context of sociocultural theory, the core role of parents (caregivers) as the child’s initial teachers (pedagogues) and creators of English digital learning environment is outlined. The author has provided guidelines on learning English as a second language based on the supportive use of digital learning tools in English at an early age. The article provides a definition of the term English-speaking digital learning environment. The current research showcases the use of digital learning tools for interpersonal and intercultural communication between adults and a child. The didactic value of English vlogs and cartoons as the most interesting and engaging audiovisual support for children’s English language communicative competence formation is determined. The author provides case examples of how game techniques of miming, dressing up, dramatising, acting out and role-playing cartoons and vlogs scenarios may be employed. A number of online educational platforms and applications designed for learning English have been analysed according to target audience, objectives, content, linguistic, and didactic accuracy. The author has designed a framework of English-speaking digital learning environment formation on three levels: family, educational institutions, and state. The effectiveness of the suggested guidelines on how to create a favourable English digital learning environment for preschool children has been corroborated on the basis of questionnaires and interviews with parents in the kindergarten.

Мультилингвальная интерактивная обучающая система для подготовки военнослужащих стран ОДКБ

The article delves into the interactive possibilities of innovative learning technologies that allow to ensure the formation of communicative competence of foreign cadets of military universities of the Russian Federation. In addition, the work gives the justification of multilingual representation of learning systems and outlines the op-tions for their application in preparation for lectures and laboratory works. The research describes the levels of interactivity and key characteristics of innovative learning technologies that ensure the realization of the Con-cept of development of electronic information and educational environment of military higher education institu-tion, approved in 2020. The fragment of the multilingual interactive learning system presented in the article is designed for the military personnel of the CSTO countries and can be implemented in the process of conduct-ing joint classes with this category of people. Such a system can serve as a component of the electronic infor-mation and educational environment and be used in the process of independent training of foreign military personnel.

Teaching international relations students intercultural commentary

Importance. The problem of mastering the skills of conducting intercultural commentary for international relations students is important and relevant. The purpose of the work is to show how, based on the study of fables from Russian and French literature, it is possible to develop the skills of intercultural analysis and intercultural commentary on the sociocultural characteristics of the country and peoples of their native and foreign languages.Research Methods. Based on a theoretical analysis of scientific literature, a refined concept of “intercultural commentary” is presented as a necessary skill for the professional activities of international relations students. The study proved that a prerequisite for the formation of intercultural communicative competence of future political scientists is familiarity with the national specifics of the culture, traditions and mentality of the people of the country of the language being studied.Comparative analysis of fables by I.A. Krylov and Lafontaine, questioning, and diagnostics made it possible to develop a step-by-step algorithm for training future political scientists and international law specialists in intercultural commentary.Results and Discussion. It is revealed and substantiated that through folklore and fables one can learn to recognize the typical characteristics and features of the Russian and French peoples, which arouses great interest in the didactic possibilities of its use in the system of intercultural teaching of the French language.Conclusion. The application of the research results can contribute to the development of new directions in linguodidactics and the design of an effective linguistic educational intercultural environment.

Professionalization of Pedagogical Activity of Future Teachers, Formation of Communicative Competence as an Aspect of Neuropedagogy

The article reveals the relevance of the formation of the future teacher's communicative competence as a professionalization of the basic component of pedagogical activity and individual requirements for professional activity. The professional standard requires readiness for pedagogical activity, the basis of which is the formation of communicative competence of the future teacher, in particular in the context of the neuropedagogical approach. The authors highlight the approaches to the formation of students' communicative skills in the process of studying a block of pedagogical disciplines during the period of obtaining a pedagogical education. The paper asserts the need to follow a systematic approach in the formation of communicative competence as a dominant component of the professional competence of the future novice teacher. The effectiveness of his pedagogical activity, as the authors note, is determined by the content of the "communicative portrait" of students - future teachers, the effectiveness of the educational process depends on this. Such a position requires a new approach based on neuropedagogical components. It is the communicative knowledge, abilities and skills of the future teacher that will allow building the trajectory of object-subject and subject-subject interaction in a holistic educational process. A key component of communicative competence is the teacher's communicative culture, which ensures the effective construction of direct and feedback communication with the participants of the educational process. Professional activity always requires from the future teacher the ability to build strategy, tactics and techniques of subject-subject interactions, to organize joint activities with students to achieve educational goals.

ОСОБЛИВОСТІ ФОРМУВАННЯ ІНФОРМАЦІЙНО-КОМУНІКАЦІЙНОЇКОМПЕТЕНТНОСТІ УЧНІВ НА УРОКАХ МАТЕМАТИКИ

To delineate and substantiate the nuances of developing information and communication competence in students during mathematics lessons, we conducted an extensive analysis of state educational regulations, including the Law of Ukraine "On Education," the New Ukrainian School Concept, the Concept of Digital Competence Development, the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education, and mathematics curriculum materials. We also scrutinized sources available on the Internet related to international educational monitoring studies and synthesized both international and domestic pedagogical experience. The study asserts that the formation of information and communication competence in students during mathematics education arises from the demands of the school mathematics curriculum. Mandatory learning outcomes in the mathematical education sector encompass requirements characterizing students' information and communication competence. The process of learning mathematics should facilitate not only the overall development of students' personalities but also the acquisition of a system of mathematical knowledge, improvement of problem-solving skills, and an understanding of the importance of mathematics as the language of science, technology, and innovation. Additionally, students should recognize the significance of information and communication technologies in effectively addressing mathematical challenges. The integrated use of information technologies in the educational process, especially in the context of distance and blended learning, contributes to the development of students' information and communication competence. This is contingent upon the methodically sound selection of educational content, didactic materials, and teaching strategies by educators. It is elucidated that the primary means of cultivating students' information and communication competence lies in the specialized system of educational tasks and examples present in school mathematics textbooks. These materials are designed to foster students' personal qualities, creativity, critical thinking, and their ability to generate and articulate their thoughts.
