The Effect of Self-efficiency and the Environment of School on the Learning Achievement of Creative Products and Entrepreneurship Subjects at SMKN 1 Trowulan Mojokerto, East Java Indonesia

Quality human resources will certainly have a big role in efforts to build the country. One of the ways to improve human resources is to improve quality education. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to discover: (1) the effect of self-efficacy on learning achievement of Creative Products and Entrepreneurship subjects at SMKN 1 Trowulan Mojokerto, East Java, Indonesia, (2) the effect of self-efficacy and school environment on learning achievement of Creative Products and Entrepreneurship at SMKN 1 Trowulan Mojokerto, East Java Indonesia, this study was a quantitative research with a correlational approach, which data collection techniques used documentation with a questionnaire instrument. The data analysis in this study used multiple linear regression techniques with the help of the SPSS 20 application. Multiple linear regression techniques included the F test and the T test. The results of this study indicated that it had a positive and significant relationship between self-efficacy and the school environment with student achievement in creative products and entrepreneurship at SMKN 1 Trowulan Mojokerto Indonesia, this was evidenced by the results of testing the significance of multiple linear regression which showed the value of sig. <0.05. If students have a high level of self-efficacy and the state of the school environment, the learning achievement of Creative Products and Entrepreneurship students of SMKN 1 Trowulan is high, and vice versa. The contribution of the self-efficacy variable and the school environment on the learning achievement variable of Creative Products and Entrepreneurship for students of SMKN 1 Trowulan was 44.7%.

Struggling to be more visible: Female digital creative entrepreneurs in China

Entrepreneurs have become the driving force of China’s economy over the past few decades. With a rapid surge in the growth of digital platforms, and the success of China’s platforms outside China, the aspiration to be entrepreneurial is recognized and celebrated. Increasingly, women are benefitting from this entrepreneurial fever. However, behind the increasing number of emerging women digital entrepreneurs, is the struggle to gain recognition. Drawing on cases studies of female digital startups, the article investigates some of the dilemmas faced when women strive to develop entrepreneurial identities. The article problematizes distinctions between the entrepreneur in a general sense, the creative entrepreneur, and female creative entrepreneurs. Whereas an entrepreneur in China is often conflated with a business owner, the identity of the creative entrepreneur is more precarious and unstable. The article finds that besides the difficulty to sustain a creative-based entrepreneurial identity, the hyper-competitive and masculinist fields of digital entrepreneurship and technical fields, combined with traditional gender roles and family responsibility, results in a devaluation of female entrepreneurship.

Ambidextrous Innovation in Mediating Entrepreneurial Creativity on Firm Performance and Competitive Advantage

A new business venture faces intense competition in a dynamic environment. To survive, new business ventures and established companies both need to generate creativity and significant new ventures to be highly competitive and have high levels of performance. In this study, we examined new business ventures that determined their competitiveness and performance generated from entrepreneurial creativity and mediated by ambidextrous innovation. This research used survey data collected from 143 Indonesian's new business shipping agencies, which was collected using an online survey and analyzed through structural equation modeling. The results showed that entrepreneurial creativity in new business ventures is positively associated with competitive advantage but not significant to create a competitive advantage. In contrast, entrepreneurial creativity is positively associated with firm performance. This result indicates that efforts to generate entrepreneurial creativity are not sufficient to create a competitive advantage despite having a significant influence on firm performance. However, entrepreneurial creativity is significantly and positively associated with firm performance and competitive advantage when mediated by ambidextrous innovation. The findings of this study suggest that the competitive advantage of a new business venture in facing intense competition in a dynamic environment condition can be overcome by generating strategic action in the form of entrepreneurial creativity and ambidextrous innovation.

The consequences of being ‘the Capital of Cool’. Creative entrepreneurs and the sustainable development of creative tourism in the urban context of Rotterdam

This article analyses how creative entrepreneurs perceive the development of tourism; it looks at creative placemaking in tourism and reflects on the role of creative entrepreneurs in the sustainable development of tourism. To do so, we conducted semi-structured interviews with creative entrepreneurs in the city of Rotterdam, the Netherlands. We choose a city in an early stage of tourism development but in a more advanced stage of culture-led urban regeneration. Although Rotterdam has a long history of strategies to change its image into a creative one, only recently has the city experienced an increase in media attention and a growing number of domestic and international tourists. This offers a unique opportunity to explore tourism development at an early stage. Our results nuance our understanding of the relations between creative entrepreneurs, placemaking, and tourism. Although the creative entrepreneurs in our sample consider themselves placemakers, issues such as equality, inclusiveness, and avoiding gentrification are still not adequately addressed. From a policy perspective, this study emphasises the need to take into account the fundamental question of whose city Rotterdam is and who benefits from the urban and tourism development strategy.

Building the resilience of rural creative entrepreneurship through leadership concept: the case of Kaliabu, Indonesia

This paper proposes a local leadership model that encourages the resilience of creative entrepreneurship in rural areas. Creative entrepreneurship faces various challenges that force them to be resilient in facing the global market competition. In the creative entrepreneur community in rural areas, the role of the leader is very important in triggering the creativity and transformation of the community. A case study on the entrepreneurship community of logo designers in Kaliabu Village shows that they suffer from business discontinuity due to market competition. Learning from this case, we propose the concept of transformational creative leadership as a solution to building resilience in creative entrepreneurship. This concept combines transformational leadership and creative leadership theories which are considered capable of encouraging entrepreneurial innovation and creativity through creative processes so that creative entrepreneurial resilience can be achieved.

Entering a Golden Age of Sustained Superiority: Entrepreneurial Creation or Discovery?

To better understand the origins of sustained superior firm performance, we consider processes of entrepreneurial creation and discovery. Discovering new opportunities requires speed and flexibility, and although many discoveries are easy to implement, this makes them easy to imitate. By comparison, creation is more complex, iterative, and cumulative, making these opportunities slower to implement yet harder to copy. In formal simulation modeling and analyses of the U.S. Compustat population from 1966 to 2015, we found a bimodal pattern of entry into golden eras of sustained superiority. One peak consisted of an initial spike as firms went public, and evidence suggests this was driven by entrepreneurial discovery. The other peak involved a long-term inverted U-shaped trajectory that reached its high point about 17 years later. Evidence suggests this was driven by entrepreneurial creation, which first enabled then later constrained durable superiority. Our results have implications for research on sustained superiority, entrepreneurial opportunities, and strategic renewal.

THE EFFECT OF ENTREPRENEURIAL ATTITUDES, INNOVATION AND CREATIVITY ON BUSINESS SUCCESS IN THE GARMENT INDUSTRY (CV. CELBYM AND YEIKO)

This study aims to determine the relationship between entrepreneurial attitudes, innovation and creativity on business success. The object of this research lies in the company CV. Celbym and Yeiko are engaged in the garment industry. All variables in the study were calculated using a questionnaire with a 5- point Likert scale of 74 respondents with SPSS 24 software. The technique used in this study was validity test, reliability test, classic assumption test, hypothesis test, multiple regression analysis test and correlation matrix between dimensions. The result show tha entrepreunership, innovation and creativity have a significant effect on business success.

The work of hope: Spiritualizing, hustling and waiting in the creative industries in Ghana

This paper examines the dynamics of hope in creative industries in the city of Accra in Ghana. Building on theoretical insights from geography, anthropology and sociology that have mobilized the concept of hope as an analytical category, we examine the economic actions and entrepreneurial behaviour of creative entrepreneurs working in “precarious geographies”, i.e. locations where precarity is not a deviation from the norm but a constant and longstanding feature. Drawing on in-depth interviews, we contend that in conditions of radical and pervasive precarity, hope represents a distinct form of work in which the potentialities of the moment extend the present into the future, while the future, however hazy and unimaginable, affects the economic vitality of the present. By unpacking three dominant practices of hopeful orientation to futurity enacted by creative workers in Accra, namely hustling, waiting, and spiritualizing, we demonstrate the usefulness of hope as a concept in analysing economic action and labour dynamics.

Missing the Forest for the Trees: Prior Entrepreneurial Experience, Role Identity, and Entrepreneurial Creativity

Extant research has portrayed the effect of prior entrepreneurial experience as one that manifests uniformly across contexts. Drawing on the person-by-situation perspective, we elaborated how prior entrepreneurial experience could manifest differentially across contexts. Results from our lab experiment indicated that prior entrepreneurial experience brought an advantage in avoiding being overly “captivated” by a situationally salient role identity and missing the main goal of developing something that is both novel and commercially viable. Our research also examined the “role identity advantage” by demonstrating that compared to novice entrepreneurs, experienced entrepreneurs can better manage tensions between their chronic and situationally salient identities.

Entrepreneurial passion for founding as a mediator of the career anchors to entrepreneurial behavior relationship

Due to its importance in economic growth, interest in entrepreneurial behavior (EB) is expanding swiftly.in this study, we examine the role of career anchors in predicting entrepreneurial behavior as well as the mediation role of entrepreneurial passion for founding (EPF) in this relationship. Build on Schein's, Career dynamics: Matching individual and organizational needs, 1978 and Schein's, Career anchors: Discovering your real values, 1990 career anchor theory we propose that (Technical, General managerial, Autonomy, Entrepreneurial Creativity, Pure challenge and Sense of Service) anchors relate positively to the EPF and this passion positively mediates the relationship between these types of anchors and EB. on the other hand, we propose that lifestyle anchor (LSA), as well as security anchors (SA) negatively, relate to EPF negatively mediates the relationship between LSA, SA and EB build on data collected from 444 potential entrepreneurs by using a dependable questionnaire; we found support for our hypotheses, for example, we found that people with entrepreneurial creativity anchor tend to have higher EPF which motivates them to engage in entrepreneurial activities, On the other hand, people with a lifestyle anchor tend to care more about their families and careers balance which affects their EPF and subsequently EB. These findings significantly contribute to EB and career anchors literature. The implications of this study are discussed.

The case of the creative accelerator

Literature describe the creative industries as a combined effort to enhance operations which facilitate innovation, co-working, collaboration and co-creation of cultural, artistic and entertainment value. Some of these initiatives drive change and creativity. We investigate the impact of The Street Theatre as a meeting place where creatives can create and engage with networks. Literature suggests that these creative accelerators contribute to the nurturing of talent, experiences and continued creativity. This paper uses bricolage literature to examine the resources derived from being involved in this creative accelerator. We use the embedded case method as part of our qualitative approach and conducted interviews with all stakeholders involved. Three themes describe the accelerator and its value. The first theme relates to the creative drive that is encouraged and supported. The second refers to the physical and relational network. The third highlights the creative value that is incubated and developed. This research illustrates how a theatre company can act as an accelerator for creatives by providing essential infrastructures to support the development of the networks, cohesion and successful delivery. The contribution can assist policymakers to focus their funding and support initiatives, creative entrepreneurs can have a better understanding of the value proposition of these institutions, and future organisations can benefit from this example.

“Creativity as the National Element: The General and the Special in the Modern Socio-Cultural Space” V International Scientific Conference

This summary discusses the main issues of the proceedings of the V International Scientific Conference “Creativity as the National Element: The General and the Special in the Modern Socio-Cultural Space,” which was held from July 1 to July 3, 2019 in Saint Petersburg. The conference was organized by the Department of Philosophy of the Humanities Faculty of the Saint Petersburg State Economic University, the Russian Philosophical Society, the Society of Russian Philosophy at the Ukrainian Philosophical Foundation and the Department of Philosophy of Moscow State Institute of International Relation (MGIMO). Being united by interest in the research on general and special aspects of creativity as the national environment, 69 scholars from Russia, Ukraine, Slovakia, and Spain took part in the conference. The summary considers the ideas discussed at two plenary sessions and at the following sections of the conference: “Metaphysical foundations of the creative process,” “Semantic element of artistic and aesthetic creativity,” “Entrepreneurial creativity as the basis of economic development: common and special in the economic strategy of different countries.” The proceedings of the conference contain the results of research carried out in the field of the philosophy of creativity and related research areas, including social philosophy, sociology, cultural studies, political science, the philosophy of management, economic theory, cognitive science and other scientific fields.

Exploring Creative Entrepreneurs' IEO: Extraversion, Neuroticism and Creativity.

In creative industries, entrepreneurs’ creativity is the source of entrepreneurial activities. Meanwhile, the key to the success of entrepreneurship lies in the strategic tendency of leaders, referred to the individual entrepreneurial orientation (IEO). This paper is aimed to explain the process from creativity to IEO and reveal the psychological process of entrepreneurs’ creativity. We proposed an integrated model of “individuality–creativity–IEO” by drawing on the theories of big five personality and entrepreneurship. Using a sample of 202 creative entrepreneurs from China, the research found that entrepreneurs’ creativity has a positive impact on IEO, and the individuality of neuroticism and extraversion exhibited a negative U-shaped relationship with creativity. Finally, implications for both theory and practice were presented.

Transforming Nonprofit Organisations into Social Enterprises: An Experience-Based Follow-Up Study

In unstable economic situations, transforming nonprofit organisations into social enterprises is crucial for achieving their social missions under the condition of financial sustainability. Pen and Liang (VOLUNTAS Int J Volunt Nonprofit Org 30(3):460–474, 2019. https://doi.org/10.1007/s11266-018-00071-7 ) indicated that the originality aspect of social entrepreneurial creativity, cognitive empathy, and bonding social capital had positive effects on the social entrepreneurial intention (SEI) of nonprofit organisation workers, whereas the stockholder perspective of social responsibility and affective empathy negatively influenced SEI. However, their study did not address the work-related capacities of nonprofit organisation employees, which are critical to the success of this transformation. Therefore, we tested the effects of prior experience with social problems and work self-efficacy on SEI. The results reveal that the planning and communication aspects of work self-efficacy and prior experience with social problems had significant effects on SEI. Moreover, work self-efficacy mediated the relationship between prior experience with social problems and SEI. The results expand the research framework for this inquiry line and have practical implications for nonprofit organisation transformation.

Andreas Sønning – Keys to Concert Productions and Creative Entrepreneurship

Andreas Sønning is a Norwegian flute soloist, an Associate Professor at the Norwegian Academy of Music and at the same time the owner and artistic director of Sønning Music Performance in Oslo, a company yearly producing more than 100 performances both in Norway and abroad. The company established in 1994 has had partnerships with for instance Telenor, Nordea and Total E&amp;P Exploration Norway but has also prepared various productions for Norwegian authorities. Andreas Sønning has been a visiting professor to the Norwegian universities of Oslo and Agder and to universities, conservatories and cultural institutions in the other Northern countries, in Germany, England, Ireland, the Netherlands and USA. He has lectured extensively on creative and cultural entrepreneurship. In February 2020 he was invited to take part in the first edition of the Classix Festival in Iaşi, a festival whose artistic director is Dragoş Andrei Cantea, a former student of Andreas Sønning. The present interview was taken on April 22, 2020.

Effectuation et innovation dans des contextes contraints en ressources : une revue de littérature

Ce travail a pour objectif d’identifier à quel(s) type(s) d’innovations contraintes par les ressources, la théorie de l’effectuation est reliée et quelles sont les problématiques pour lesquelles ces deux littératures sont mobilisées conjointement. Pour ce faire, nous avons réalisé une revue systématique de littérature basée sur une analyse bibliométrique (co-citations des références) et une analyse sémantique (co-citations des mots clés). Les résultats de ces analyses effectuées sur 55 documents, à l’aide de la plateforme d’analyse textuelle et bibliométrique, CORTEXT Manager, montrent que la théorie de l’effectuation est fortement liée au bricolage par le biais de différentes thématiques liées à l’entrepreneuriat telles que l’éducation entrepreneuriale, l’internationalisation, les approches d’exploration et de création d’opportunités et l’entrepreneuriat social. Golden Apples or Green Apples? The Effect of Entrepreneurial Creativity on Green Entrepreneurship: A Dual Pathway Model

Entrepreneurs with high creativity (i.e., golden apples) are easy to find, but entrepreneurs with green entrepreneurial intention (i.e., green apples) are rare. To explain this phenomenon, we first introduce cognitive dissonance theory to demonstrate how entrepreneurial creativity influences green entrepreneurship through two parallel mechanisms—green recognition and green disengagement. Moreover, we propose the use of green self-identity as a moderator to predict when the relationships between entrepreneurial creativity and these two mechanisms are intensified or attenuated. Through an empirical study, we surveyed 362 entrepreneurs from a local entrepreneurship association in eastern China. The results show that entrepreneurial creativity is positively associated with both green recognition and green disengagement. While green recognition strengthens green entrepreneurial intention, green disengagement weakens green entrepreneurial intention. More importantly, creative entrepreneurs with high green self-identity are more likely to engage in green recognition and, thus, promote green entrepreneurial intention. By contrast, creative entrepreneurs with low green self-identity are more willing to engage in green disengagement and, thus, inhibit green entrepreneurial intention. Finally, we discuss the theoretical and practical implications of these findings for entrepreneurial creativity and green entrepreneurship.

Ruta N, an island of innovation in Medellín’s downtown

This article discusses the contribution of innovation centres in nearby neighbourhoods based on primary data. This paper involves the study of the case of Ruta N in Medellín to expose the relationship between a consolidated neighbourhood and new innovation facilities. Ruta N was founded after the implementation of a city-level policy for innovation intended to secure the economic growth of a former deprived area of the city. This innovation attracted local and international creative entrepreneurs to Medellín’s downtown but with inconsistent results. The analysis revealed that Ruta N rarely interacts with the nearby neighbourhood, thus restricting its potential to contribute to the community. Instead, it is perceived that Ruta N takes advantage of the neighbourhood to meet the needs of Ruta N users, not the other way around. As a result, community members argue that Ruta N could promote potential conflicts in the area.

How Co Creative Entrepreneurs Respond to the Tension Between Art and Business?

Relying on the paradox and entrepreneurship literatures, coupled with social network and practice theories, this study uncovers how creative entrepreneurs respond to the tension between art and business in terms of their inherent motivations, social ties and practices in the process of creative entrepreneurship, divided into three cumulative phases of prelaunch, launch and post-launch. The multiple case studies method is used by examining founders of creative enterprises operating in the film industry in Europe. The research contributes to the under-researched phenomenon of creative entrepreneurship from both personality and social perspectives, to the literature on paradox and contradiction by exploring the micro- foundations of tensions, to the practice theory by highlighting the agency of creative entrepreneurs in generating and adapting practices necessary to deal with conflicting demands of creative entrepreneurship. Managerial implications for the training of creative entrepreneurs are highlighted.

Individual Differences in Context: Different Paths to Effect Individual and Team Creativity

Creativity is a vital driver to the survival and success of global organizations (Anderson, Potocnik, & Zhou, 2014). Creativity, the generation of useful and novel ideas, is central to the ultimate innovation process and new product development. Zhou and Hoover (2014) in summarizing the literature on creativity, propose that creativity is not a uniform construct across all settings. They note that creativity must be understood from the contexts in which these creative efforts were developed. In line with Woodman and colleagues (1993), they view creativity as the result of the interplay of (a) the stable or transient characteristics of individual, dyad, or team; (b) contextual factors. Thus, this symposium focuses on the interplay of actor and context in understanding the processes leading to creativity at both individual and team levels employing various research methods.
