Due to topographical and traffic conditions, the vehicle frequently requires braking, which is generally accomplished by friction brakes. Friction brakes, on the other hand, convert braking energy into heat, resulting in a loss that reduces the efficiency of electric cars (EV). Certain study publications discussed about pollution caused by asbestos brake lining and the dangers it poses to animals and people. Furthermore, the friction brakes provide a sudden jerk to the passenger, making the ride unpleasant. EVs are primarily propelled by an electric motor that allows for the inclusion of an electric brake system which slow down speed of the vehicle by converting kinetic energy into electric energy. Electric dynamic braking system is smooth in operation, eliminate uncomfortable journeys, and are pollution-free. The proposed dynamic brake system is highly suitable for pure fuel cell electric vehicle which is entirely relay on friction brake system. The dynamic brakes reduce the participation of friction brake hence the intervention of friction brake system is limited which reduce the brake dust emission by 60–70%.
