The article is devoted to the problem of development of information and digital competence of future primary school teachers in the process of professional training. The content of information and digital competence in the context of modern requirements for the content of professional training of the future teacher of the new Ukrainian school is analyzed. A theoretical analysis of the concept of “information and digital competence of the future primary school teacher” was carried out. During the study, an attempt was made to theoretically investigate and substantiate the content and directions of development of information and digital competence of future primary school teachers in the process of professional training. The structure of information and digital competence of future primary school teachers is researched, it was clarified that the competence under consideration includes content-based (knowledge) and professional (skills) components. The opportunities of digital technologies for the organization of the educational process in primary school are analyzed, which emphasizes the importance of its formation in future teachers. It is proved that the development of information and digital competence in the process of professional training includes the formation of the ability to: apply information technology in the process of teaching various educational sectors in primary school; use these technologies to organize their own methodical work and to increase students' interest in the content of educational material. It is found that the process of formation of information and digital competence of future primary school teachers should continue throughout the entire period of professional training, because an integral part of the information culture of the future teacher is the formation of knowledge and the development of skills in the field of informatics and information and communication technologies necessary for their effective use in the educational process, the formation of the information culture of students; ability to navigate in the information space, analyze information, reflect on their activities and its results.
