The article considers the necessity to use works of sacred art in the training system for future teachers, which is extremely acute in this era of deformation cultural values. The relevance of the chosen topic is justified by the fact that higher education institutions should give future teachers not only a certain amount of knowledge, but also they should form valuable attitude to the works of Christian sacred art. The language of sacred art is multifunctional and universal and by breaking language barriers it allows you to delve into the essence of things, events and the phenomena of the surrounding reality. It isimportant that the content and meaning, embedded in the works of sacred art, in the process of their influence on students will contribute to the formation of their system of values and the development of their sense of the sensual beauty in worldly reality. The aim of the article is to study the influence of art in general and the peculiarities of the influence of works of sacred art in particular, in the context of professional training of future teachers. The possible ways of introducing of sacred art works into the educational and communicative space are outlined. The methodological basis of the study is the main feature of cognitive theory; culturological approach to art consideration and art-therapeutic practices in working with students. Basing on our own art-therapeutic experience of working with children, we focus on the individualization of the creative experience, which vividly reflected in the drawings of primary and secondary school students. The practical significance of the obtained results in working with students allows us to draw the following conclusion, which will be the quintessence of the outlined issues of our study. A future teacher needs to understand that the works of Christian sacred art have a great artistic and pedagogical influence on the formation of students’ system of life values, fulfilling an aesthetic and harmonizing function.
