Brachycera Schiner, 1862 is distinguished from the mosquitoes suborder Nematocera by their short antennae, with few segments. The antennae are formed by three segments of articles, the last of which ends in a long bristle, the arista, or in a multi-segmented article. The objective is to describe Brachycera families (Insecta Diptera). The contribution of the Accessibility Program: include for the insertion of people with disabilities in higher education

This article aims to highlight the contribution of the Higher Education Accessibility Program – Include Program, which is conceived as an expression of accessibility policies for people with disabilities in the academic environment. The methodology was carried out through documentary research – analysis of notices and bibliography – on the portal of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), covering the period from 2001 to 2022. It was understood from the documentary analysis that two actions stand out and strengthen the insertion of these people: architectural adaptation and implementation and/or strengthening of accessibility centers. From the bibliographical research, it was learned that inclusion actions are strengthened in the academic environment with the significant performance of Accessibility Centers, which mediate the relationship between academics with disabilities and the scientific community. This mediation takes place through guidance regarding the need to change traditional methodology, issues of pedagogical accessibility, different methodologies, among others. Therefore, it is urgent that the entire academic community becomes aware of its inclusive role in Society.

PENSAMENTO CRÍTICO E EDUCAÇÃO EM QUÍMICA: O PANORAMA DE TESES E DISSERTAÇÕES BRASILEIRAS

The work described here analyzes the panorama of Brazilian productions with articulation between Chemistry Education and Critical Thinking (CP), characterizing them, in theoretical and methodological aspects, after identifying the areas expressed by the investigations. For this, a qualitative research of the bibliographic research type was carried out, which took place through the survey of works in the Catalog of Theses and Dissertations of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) and in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD). The analyses point to a growing number of studies related to the scope investigated, which undertake their studies in various contexts. Thus, this research can assist in possible investigations, by evidencing results, challenges and future proposals described by the analyzed investigations, helping in the panoramic weaving on the CP in Chemistry Education.

Medical-veterinary and economic importance of the Tabanidae family

The Tabanidae females of these insects present several adaptations related to the hematophagous habit, which increase their potential as vectors of infectious agents. Among these adaptations, anautogeny, telmophagy, the large volume of blood meal, the longtime of blood meal, and the interruption of feeding are highlighted. It is emphasized that these insects are important because, in addition to bothering humans by attacking them in search of a blood meal, they are potential transmitters of diseases to animals and humans, being capable of mechanically transporting viruses, bacteria, protozoa, and helminths, through the fact that these pathogens adhere to the structure of the proboscis. Distance Education Course “Water as an Interdisciplinary Element of Teaching in Schools”: Action in Basic Education Through a Partnership between the PROFCIAMB Network and ANA, Brazil

The Graduate Program in the National Network for Teaching Environmental Sciences (PROFCIAMB) in partnership with the National Water and Basic Sanitation Agency (ANA) and the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) updated the educational material of the “Water in Course – Multipliers” associated with the collection of didactic products desenvolved with the theme of Water by ANA to compose the education distance course “Water as an Interdisciplinary Element of Teaching in Schools”, which is aimed at teachers of Basic Education and professionals who work with teaching in non-formal spaces and/or non-school. Its objectives were built considering the Sustainable Development Goals ODS4 Quality Education and ODS6 Potable Water and Sanitation. The course was supported by Tutors (Students from the PROFCIAMB Network) and had a workload of 80 hours, distributed over four months in 5 modules. Module 1 to 4 for the Water and Teaching Principles and Methodology disciplines: Water: sustainable consumption and its multiple uses; Situation of water resources in Brazil; All together by the water; and, Cases of success in water care. Module 5 for the Application of learning discipline (lesson plan elaboration and lesson plan report). Four classes were offered from 2018 to 2022 with 4,645 vacancies and 14,850 registered candidates, nationwide course; 4,518 students enrollments and 1,656 students approved.

International entrepreneurship and global mindset: a theoretical discussion

Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the constructs of international entrepreneurship (IE) and global mindset (GM). Method: A bibliographic investigation was conducted in the journals of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), Emerald Insight, Scopus, Spell, Springer and Web of Science. Descriptors (English and Portuguese) were used in the databases to search for scientific articles that related to the themes of IE and GM. Main Results: Convergences and divergences between the IE and GM constructs and contemporary trends were perceived. Regarding convergences, two important aspects were present in this discussion: the entrepreneur's behavior and its influence on the internationalization process. Entrepreneurial skills, international knowledge, and global orientation stand out in entrepreneurial behavior. In the internationalization process, the speed of internationalization is emphasized as part of the process. Regarding the differentiating characteristics between the IE and GM constructs, cosmopolitanism is present in the first and a combination of individual global mindset (IGM) and corporate global mindset (CGM) is present in the second. Relevance / Originality: This is a theme little discussed in the literature. This study highlights the influence of GM, its relationship with IE, and the factors that can jointly impact international networks. Theoretical / Methodological Contributions: This research clarifies that, although the GM can be expressed independently of EI, the performance of IE is related to the presence of GM.

Study of the biological and taxonomic characteristics of the families Megamerinidae, Nemestrinidae and Therevidae (Insecta: Diptera)

Regarding the biology of the Megamerinidae family, their larvae live under the bark of dying or dead deciduous trees where they are predators or scavengers of the larvae of other insects. Adults, which are rarely captured, are found mainly in wooded areas, close to the larval habitat, mainly on trunks and leaves. All known larvae of Nemestrinidae are internal parasitoids of nymphs and adults of locusts and beetle larvae. This makes the nemestrinids have the potential to be used as biological control agents for Mantodea. Nemestrinid adults are often found hovering around flowers where they feed on nectar, emitting a characteristic buzzing sound. The family of Therevidae biology is poorly understood. Adults are diurnal and many can live for more than a month under favorable conditions. They often go out to sunny spots on trails, the males usually waiting for the females to pass. Resting sites are generally specific to different species Larvae feed on other insects, mainly beetles, butterflies, moths and other flies that live in leaf litter, tree holes, or sandy terrains. Study of the Tiphiidae Family (Insecta Hymenoptera) as Natural Enemies of Cicadas and Beetles

The females are Tiphiidae notable because they parasitize the tiger beetle lar and are powerful predators living predators that live in touch. The males are winged them spend most of their time flying or resting on the vegetation, being that the females are apterous, and invested much of their time below the surface. The larvae are parasitoids of beetle larvae (mostly scarab beetles). The objective of this paper is to determine the biology, ecology, life cycle taxonomy of the Tiphiidae Family. The methodological basis of the present work consists of bibliographical research that used the following databases SciELO, Central Library of the University of Brasília and scientific research, scientific book chapters, theses databases, university dissertations, national and international scientific articles classified by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). The main terms used were: Hymenoptera Parasitic, parasitoid, hosts, Typhiidae and microhymenoptera.

Study of the Megalyridae and Monomachidae Families (Insecta: Hymenoptera)

Megalyridae wasps are thought to be idiobiont endoparasitoids of concealed insect larvae. Parasitoids of larvae of broaching beetles, families Bostrichidae, Buprestidae, Cerambycidae (Coleoptera), and Pemphredonidae (Hymenoptera). Little is known about the hosts of Monomachidae: The Australian species Monomachus antipodalis Westwood, 1874 acts as an egg-larval or egg-pupal parasitoid of Boreoides spp. (Diptera: Stratiomyidae, Chiromyzinae). The aim of this article is to study the characteristics of bioecology and taxonomy of the Megalyridae and Monomachidae Families (Insecta: Hymenoptera). The review was carried out in Goiânia, Goiás, Brazil from November 2022 to December 2022. Study or work uses the reference of bibliographic research, understood as the act of asking and seeking information on certain subjects such as Hymenoptera Parasitica through a survey carried out in national and foreign magazines classified by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), with the aim of detecting what there is consensus or controversy in the state of the art of literature in the libraries of the University of Brasília and the University of São Paulo on websites at (LILACS) and (SciELO) and in book scientific chapters, national and international scientific articles. It is an important work, both for hymenopterologists dedicated to studying parasitoids and for other entomologists interested in the biological control of insect pests.

Studies on the families Drynidae, Heloridae and Ismaridae (Insecta: Hymenoptera)

Most Dryinidae act as cenobiont ectoparasitoids of Cicadellidae, Delphacidae, Flatidae and Membracidae (Hemiptera). Females of Dryinidae feed on nectar and other sugary solutions and, with the exception of Aphelopinae, they also have a predatory habit and feed on fluids and tissues of their hosts. Only Crovettia Olmi (Aphelopinae) act as polyembryonic endoparasitoids that attack Membracidae nymphs. The Heloridae Family Individuals of this family are solitary, endoparasitoids of Chrysopidae (Neuroptera) larvae, and use the cocoon created by the host to complete their cycle. The Family Ismaridae are primary parasitoids of cicadas (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae). Species of Ismarus act as hyperparasitoids or secondary parasitoids of larvae of Dryinidae (Hymenoptera). This paper aims to seek knowledge about the Drynidae, Heloridae and Ismaridae families. Ensino médico on-line durante a pandemia em diferentes países

Abstract: Introduction: At the end of 2019, one of the great challenges of the 21st century emerged, affecting the whole world. The long period in isolation made people adapt to the way they work and study, and this same measure was taken in the medical course, bringing new methodologies and learning. Objective: To analyze, through an Integrative Review, data on how the process of adapting online medical education was carried out during the pandemic. Methods: This is an Integrative Literature Review and data search was conducted in the PubMed, Virtual Health Library (BVS), Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO) and Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS) databases. The search began in July 2021. Results: Initially, with the application of the inclusion criteria, a total of 841 articles were obtained from the selected databases. After excluding duplicate articles, this number was reduced to 242 articles. After applying the exclusion criteria, 22 articles were selected for the study. Conclusion: It is known that Medicine is mostly a practical course, the physical contact of students with patients is essential to develop essential skills for a quality physician, both in medical semiology techniques and in the skills necessary to establish the doctor-patient relationship. However, the need for a way of learning arose with the pandemic and teaching could not stop. In view of the points raised in the literature research, the common sense would be the application of a hybrid teaching method - online and face-to-face - (aimed at optimizing time and breaking geographic barriers, without neglecting the importance of clinical practice), exceptionally online (when there are extraordinary situations, such as the COVID-19 pandemic) or only in person (in regions where the application of e-learning is not feasible).

Políticas públicas arquivísticas nas pesquisas dos programas de pós-graduação STRICTO SENSU EM Ciência da Informação do Brasil

This article aims to map the scientific production of stricto sensupostgraduate programs in Information Science in Brazil, in order to study archival public policies, the subject of an ongoing thesis. This is a quali-quantitative, exploratory and descriptive research carried out in two stages. In the first, 74 works were identified, throughsearches in the Catalog of Theses and Dissertations of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel(CAPES). In the second, using bibliographical research techniques, reflective readings were carried out to prepare a systematic literature review with the identified data. Of the 74 works, 46 were used in the research because they were produced in Information Science programs. From its analysis, it is concluded that there is agreement on the use of the terms archival policies and archival public policies as synonyms, as well as on the lack of archival public policies in Brazil, despite the legislation in the area. The works of José Maria Jardim are the most used references in discussions about archival policies and archival public policies, in the analyzed material.

Research on the use and creation of paradidactic books for teaching statistics in elementary school in Brazil

The objective of this work was to systematically analyze the literature in Brazil, through scientific articles, books or book chapters, monographs and dissertations, and stricto sensu graduate theses, who used or created paradidactic books for teaching statistics in elementary school. The databases searched were: the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), Theses and Dissertations Catalog of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) and Academic Google, based on the keyword system, Book Didactics as a first option (E) Statistics (E) Elementary School (E) Education. Thirteen studies were considered as results, in the period from 2002 to 2021, and the IRaMuTeQ software was used for the multidimensional analysis from the organization in texts (corpus), each one being defined as “text segment”. Each text was prepared considering what was emphasized in the research, the methodology or methodological approach used, the context in which it was developed, and the types of study and areas involved and the main results and conclusions. In addition, data analysis was organized, based on the identification for each of the texts, of the following variables of interest: type of publication (pubType); year of publication of the text (yearPub); target audience for the work (publicTeaching); and the Brazilian region where the work was carried out (PubRegion). The research is aimed at students and teachers in the early and late years of elementary school and developed in graduate programs and their respective research groups. We emphasize that research on the use and creation of textbooks for teaching statistics in elementary school is still incipient, highlighting the need for more research, but it can be seen that there is the development of new research at the PhD level. In addition, a trend is indicated in the relationships with experiential knowledge and with everyday life, contributing to the formation of citizens aware of the development of statistics.

Overall survival analyses of female malignancies in Southern Brazil during 2008-2017: A closer look at breast, cervical and ovarian cancer.

The aim of this study was to report the overall survival and baseline factors associated with OS for breast, cervical and ovarian cancer in Florianópolis, Southern Brazil, a region with quality-of-life indicators comparable to high-income countries. Cohort study was performed from probabilistic record linkage of the Mortality Information System and the Population-based cancer registry of Florianópolis. It was included breasts, cervical and ovarian cancer diagnosis during the period of 2008-2012 with a follow up of 60 months. Cox regression and Kaplan-Meier method were used for associations with overall survival and risk factors. 1857 cases of the three malignancies were included in the analysis. We identified 202 deaths in breast cancer subjects, 53 for cervical cancer and 51 for ovarian cancer. Metastatic disease at diagnosis was present in 31%, 9.6%, and 55% of the cases, respectively. Overall survival was statistically correlated with age, educational level and stage for breast cancer; age and stage for cervical cancer; age and stage for ovarian cancer. Metastatic disease and age are the main prognostic factors for the malignancies studied, as they were associated with both overall survival and risk of death. Better screening and preventive tests for early diagnosis are needed. The Influence Between C-C Chemokine Receptor 5 Genetic Polymorphisms and the Type-1 Human Immunodeficiency Virus: A 20-Year Review.

Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) is an infectious disease caused by the types 1 and 2 human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1 and HIV-2). Clinical outcomes in patients are highly varied and delineated by complex interactions between virus, host, and environment, such as with help of co-receptors, for example, the C-C chemokine receptor 5 (CCR5). This work aimed to describe the scientific evidence relating the influence of CCR5 polymorphisms in association studies for HIV-1 disease susceptibility, severity, and transmissibility. This is a systematic review of the literature on single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and the deletion [Insertion and Deletion (Indel)] Δ32 of CCR5. The search for articles was based on the ScienceDirect, PubMed, and Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) databases for the period between 2001 and 2021. The final sample consisted of 32 articles. †SNP rs1799987 is one of the genetic polymorphisms most associated with the criteria of susceptibility and severity of HIV-1, having distinct consequences in genotypic, allelic, and clinical analysis in the variability of investigated populations. As for the transmission character of the disease, the G mutant allele of rs1799987 corresponds to the highest positive association. ‡Furthermore, the results on Indel Δ32 corroborate the absence and rarity of this variant in some populations. Finally, mitigating the severity of cases, SNPs rs1799988 and rs1800023 obtained significant attribution in individuals in the studied populations. It is shown that the reported polymorphisms express significant influences for the evaluation of diagnostic, therapeutic, and prophylactic measures for HIV-1 having fundamental particularities in the molecular, genetic, and transcriptional aspects of CCR5.

La Contribución de la Formación Continua en la (re)construcción de los Saberes Docentes

Continuing teacher education has been the scene of many discussions in the Brazilian context. However, when it is related to the construction and reconstruction of teachers' knowledge, it is necessary to think about deepening its importance in the sense of the personal and professional constitution of teachers. The motivating question of this study refers to how teaching knowledge is presented in the context of continuing education in Brazilian studies existing in the scope of theses and dissertations found in the repository of the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel) with a time delimitation of 2017-2020. The methodology is qualitative with a descriptive bibliographic approach. From a total of three theses and nine dissertations analyzed, five of them explicitly refer that continuing education contributed to the construction and reconstruction of teaching knowledge.

Primary healthcare protects vulnerable populations from inequity in COVID-19 vaccination: An ecological analysis of nationwide data from Brazil

BackgroundThere is limited information on the inequity of access to vaccination in low-and-middle-income countries during the COVID-19 pandemic. Here, we described the progression of the Brazilian immunisation program for COVID-19, and the association of socioeconomic development with vaccination rates, considering the potential protective effect of primary health care coverage.MethodsWe performed an ecological analysis of COVID-19 immunisation data from the Brazilian National Immunization Program from January 17 to August 31, 2021. We analysed the dynamics of vaccine coverage in the adult population of 5,570 Brazilian municipalities. We estimated the association of human development index (HDI) levels (low, medium, and high) with age-sex standardised first dose coverage using a multivariable negative binomial regression model. We evaluated the interaction between the HDI and primary health care coverage. Finally, we compared the adjusted monthly progression of vaccination rates, hospital admission and in-hospital death rates among HDI levels.FindingsFrom January 17 to August 31, 2021, 202,427,355 COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered in Brazil. By the end of the period, 64·2% of adults had first and 31·4% second doses, with more than 90% of those aged ≥60 years with primary scheme completed. Four distinct vaccine platforms were used in the country, ChAdOx1-S/nCoV-19, Sinovac-CoronaVac, BNT162b2, Ad26.COV2.S, composing 44·8%, 33·2%, 19·6%, and 2·4% of total doses, respectively. First dose coverage differed between municipalities with high, medium, and low HDI (Median [interquartile range] 72 [66, 79], 68 [61, 75] and 63 [55, 70] doses per 100 people, respectively). Municipalities with low (Rate Ratio [RR, 95% confidence interval]: 0·87 [0·85-0·88]) and medium (RR [95% CI]: 0·94 [0·93-0·95]) development were independently associated with lower vaccination rates compared to those with high HDI. Primary health care coverage modified the association of HDI and vaccination rate, improving vaccination rates in those municipalities of low HDI and high primary health care coverage. Low HDI municipalities presented a delayed decrease in adjusted in-hospital death rates by first dose coverage compared to high HDI locations.InterpretationIn Brazil, socioeconomic disparities negatively impacted the first dose vaccination rate. Professional Master’s Program in Biotechnology and Innovation Management: The Triple Helix in movement and knowledge generation

This paper analyses evidence of innovation in the joint work of a company, a university and government in creating a professional Master’s degree program in Biotechnology and Innovation Management at the Centro Universitário de Sete Lagoas, Minas Gerais, Brazil. It presents a new perspective by combining two fields of knowledge: biotechnology and innovation management. The conceptual scheme of Triple Helix spaces is still not well analyzed from an empirical viewpoint. This paper identifies the development of knowledge, consensus and innovation spaces through an examination of this professional Master’s course. A qualitative approach was used for the conducting of 20 semi-structured interviews with representatives of the Triple Helix: two directors of Embrapa, a Brazilian agriculture and livestock research company; the President of FAPEMIG, the Minas Gerais Research Support Foundation; nine teachers; and eight students. In addition, data were analyzed from the databases of CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel). The results show that the proximity between the knowledge areas of biotechnology and innovation management strengthened this new program, created only 7 years ago, which has already impacted socio-economic regional development.

After all, graduate education is the result of a complex process involving course experiences, teaching, engagement in learning, mastery of skills, the ability to work with others and satisfaction with what is learned. This paper reports the results of a study seeking to document underlying dimensions of student experiences with their graduate education programs in Brazil. Confirmatory factor analysis reveals that student experiences with graduate education underscore three interrelated constructs: Engagement in learning, Collaborative Learning, and Intellectual Growth. The survey instrument that informed this study can contribute to the self-assessment of Graduate Programs in Education by accreditation agencies as the Brazilian’s Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). Assessing graduate student instruction is a complex task. After all, graduate education is the result of an intricate exercise involving course experiences, teaching, learning engagement, skill-building, collaboration, and learning satisfaction. This article presents the results of a study seeking to assist in the assessment of graduate education in Brazil through a survey about graduate education experiences. A confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), performed on 462 graduate students of various master’s and doctoral programs from six Brazilian universities, indicates that student experiences with graduate education underscore three interrelated processes: Engagement in Learning, Collaborative Learning, and Intellectual Growth. The survey that informs this study can contribute to the self-assessment of graduate programs in Education at different faculties and universities, while also facilitating regular graduate education assessment by accreditation agencies such as the Brazilian’s Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES).
