Exploring the Challenges on Career Planning Education of Higher Vocational College Students in the New Era

With the development of social economy and the diversification of career choices, the importance of college students' career planning has become increasingly prominent. In the college stage, the career planning education for college students is helpful to improve their cognition of the future career, clarify their career goals, and provide strong support for their future employment. This paper used qualitative methods to find out the factors influencing the effectiveness level of career planning education and the challenges faced by universities in implementing the teaching of career planning for college students. Through the research, it is found that the contemporary college students 'career planning guidance system is effective, targeted and feasible, and obtains a new way and new method of career planning for higher vocational college students' career planning education. It provides a reference for the career planning education of higher vocational college students in the new era. By trying to build the career education system for college students in higher vocational colleges in the new era, the career education is closer to the characteristics and reality of the education object, so as to make the career education more scientific and effective.

Impact of professional identity on learner well-being of undergraduate nursing students of “double tops” universities: Mediating effect of self-regulated learning

ObjectivesThe pressure of internal competition at the college level has increased in recent years in China with an impact on nursing students' learning and well-being. This study aimed to investigate the current situation and factors affecting professional identity, learner well-being and self-regulated learning of undergraduate nursing students in the Neijuan ecology of the “double tops” universities, and to explore the relationships between these three variables. MethodsA cross-sectional design was adopted to conduct an online survey of 322 Chinese undergraduate nursing students from seven “double tops” universities. The survey included socio-demographics characteristics, students' professional identity, learner well-being, and self-regulated learning. ResultsResults of Pearson correlation analysis showed that professional identity was significantly and positively correlated with learner well-being (R = 0.795, p < 0.001); professional identity was significantly and positively correlated with self-regulated learning (R = 0.843, p < 0.001); and, self-regulated learning was significantly and positively correlated with learner well-being (R = 0.852, p < 0.001). After mediation effect testing, self-regulated learning had a mediating effect between professional identity and learner well-being (95 % CI 0.366–0.548, p < 0.001). Professional identity had a positive predictive effect on self-regulated learning (a = 0.570, p < 0.001), and self-regulated learning also had a positive predictive effect on learner well-being (b = 0.798, p < 0.001). The direct effect of professional identity on learner well-being (0.225) and its mediating effect (0.455) account for 33.1 % and 66.9 % of the total effect (0.680), respectively. ConclusionsThe learner well-being of undergraduate Chinese nursing students is in the middle to upper range, and it is crucial to enhance professional identity and develop students' self-regulated learning to improve their learner well-being. This study provides empirical evidence to support the mediating effect of self-regulated learning on the relationship between professional identity and learner well-being among undergraduate nursing students in “double tops” universities. Universities are expected to strengthen career planning guidance and professional competence training for students as early as possible in order to develop quality nursing education programs that produce graduates who enter and remain in the workforce.

Research on the precise pointing of college students’ career based on logistic regression classification algorithm

Abstract This study analyzes the career development direction of college students through logistic regression and gray theory to provide more accurate career planning guidance for college students. Logistic regression classification algorithm and gray theory are used to study career influencing factors and predict future career development trends. The significant influence of academic performance, English proficiency, and civic and political cultivation on career direction is identified by analyzing the sample data of S college students. The model’s accuracy is significantly higher than random guessing, up to 79.8%. The results show that the combination of logistic regression and gray theory can effectively predict the career direction of college students, provide data-supported career guidance services for colleges and universities, and help students make more reasonable career planning.

AN EMPIRICAL STUDY ON THE INFLUENCING FACTORS OF CHINESE COLLEGE STUDENTS' EMPLOYABILITY

As the scale of Chinese universities and colleges continues to expand, the number of students graduating from colleges and universities is increasing every year, and the problem of "difficult employment" of college students is becoming increasingly prominent. Colleges and universities need to deeply study the influencing factors of the cultivation of college students' employability in order to comprehensively improve the employment competitiveness of college students. This paper puts forward the factors that influence the cultivation of college students' employability,and makes an empirical analysis with the data obtained from the questionnaire of college graduates of various majors of Guangdong Jiaying University as the research sample. The empirical analysis shows that the influencing factors are composed of strategic planning, curriculum and major settings, training approaches, teachers' level, and career planning guidance. They have a significant role in promoting college students' employability.

Risk perceptions of COVID-19, vocational identity, and employment aspirations of Chinese aviation students: a structural equation modeling approach

BackgroundThe COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on the aviation and education sectors in China. This study examined the relationships between risk perceptions of the pandemic, vocational identity, and employment aspirations of Chinese aviation students.MethodsThe study used a convenience sampling approach to collect data (n = 276 respondents) from August 2 to 8, 2022. An online survey was sent via WeChat and QQ to Chinese students majoring in aviation service management who were under lockdown at six Chinese schools.ResultsIn spite of the strong support for the stringent COVID policies and full awareness of infection risk and protective measures, respondents were worried about the current unstable situation and felt fear for its severity and long-lasting symptoms. The casual path from career commitment to employment aspiration was supported, but high risk perceptions of the pandemic failed to have any psychological effect on the two constructs of vocational identity and employment aspirations.ConclusionsThe findings not only demonstrate the power of career commitment on employment aspirations but also reveal that a relatively high self-assessment of career proficiency may not necessarily lead to a clear career aspiration, possibly due to poor risk communication and insufficient career planning guidance. Thus, Chinese aviation students should improve their career proficiency and commitment, broaden their career options and adaptability, and have a clear career plan, in order to be well prepared for the fierce job market that will face the next wave of the ongoing pandemic.

The intervention of Chaihu Hehuan Jieyu Tang combined with career planning guidance on employment anxiety patients of college students

BackgroundThis study explores the effectiveness of Chaihu Hehuan Jieyu Tang (CHT) combined with career guidance to alleviate employment anxiety among college students. Employment anxiety is a common concern among college students, and targeted interventions are necessary to mitigate its negative impact.Subjects and Methods One hundred sixty college students with employment anxiety were selected for this study. They were randomly divided into four groups: the CHT combined with the career guidance group (n=40), the CHT alone group (n=40), the career guidance alone group (n=40), and the control group (n=40). The Stanford Acute Stress Response Questionnaire (SASRQ) and the 3-min Confusion Assessment Scale (3D-CAM) measured the participants’ anxiety levels. The intervention was conducted over twelve weeks, with regular sessions twice weekly.ResultsStatistical analysis using SPSS23.0 revealed a significant reduction in anxiety levels in all intervention groups compared to the control group (P&lt;0.001). However, the group receiving the combined intervention of CHT and career guidance exhibited a more substantial decrease in anxiety symptoms than those receiving single interventions (P&lt;0.05), as measured by the SASRQ and 3D-CAM. These findings suggest that the combined intervention has a more substantial effect on alleviating employment anxiety among college students.ConclusionsThis study indicates that combining Chaihu and Huanjieyu Tang with career guidance effectively reduces employment anxiety among college students. These results highlight the importance of combining traditional Chinese medicine interventions such as CHT with career guidance to achieve more comprehensive and effective results.

Improvement of college students’ generalized anxiety disorder by innovation and entrepreneurship training reform

BackgroundIn the new era, college students are facing more and more job competition, leading to more and more college students suffering from generalized anxiety disorder. The reform of innovation and entrepreneurship training mode is regarded as a way that may help relieve the anxiety symptoms of college students because it can help their employment.Subjects and Methods300 college students were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group. The control group participated in the traditional entrepreneurship training course, and the experimental group participated in the innovative entrepreneurship training course. They received an 8-week training in innovation and entrepreneurship. This training included career planning guidance, entrepreneurial practice projects, and mental health guidance. The Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7 (GAD-7) was used to evaluate the status of students.ResultsThe results showed that the average score of the General anxiety symptom assessment scale of the experimental group decreased from 10.8 before the experiment to 6.2 after the training (P &lt; 0.05). The average score of the control group decreased from 10.9 before the experiment to 9.8 after the training (P &lt; 0.05). In the long-term follow-up, the anxiety symptoms of the experimental group remained at a low level, while the anxiety symptoms of the control group increased significantly.Conclusions It shows that the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship training mode has a positive effect on the improvement of generalized anxiety disorder of college students in the new era.

With the rapid development of education in China, higher education is presented with new opportunities and challenges. Providing effective career planning education for college students has become paramount to ensure their employability and help them define their learning objectives. University counselors play a crucial role as guides along the path of students’ growth. In managing the academic journey of private college students, counselors must prioritize the value of career planning education. To achieve this, counselors need to consider the unique aspects of college students’ professional and career development goals, all while fulfilling their fundamental mission of fostering character and talent. Establishing a harmonious teacher-student relationship is essential. Currently, private university counselors encounter several challenges when delivering career planning education to students. These challenges primarily revolve around the need to enhance their proficiency in career planning education, the necessity to align career planning education more closely with students’ professional interests, the diversification of educational approaches, and the promotion of active student involvement. In this new era, private university counselors must emphasize the development of their career planning guidance skills while conducting career planning education for college students. They should integrate these skills with their professional expertise to make career planning education more engaging and effective, encouraging students’ independent participation, especially in the context of the online information environment.

On the Necessity of Career Planning Guidance in Higher Education of Clothing Major

In the implementation stage of higher education, many teachers may focus on the teaching of basic contents, mainly to enable students to have professional quality through learning. However, at this stage, teachers have not organized career planning and guidance education activities, and students may find it difficult to adapt to the workplace environment after graduation in the future. Therefore, in order to further solve this problem, in the current stage of college education, teachers must carry out effective career planning and guidance, let students make full preparations in advance and effectively enhance students’ competitiveness. Therefore, taking the clothing major as an example, this paper discusses the necessity and measures of career planning guidance in the college education of clothing major.

Design of College Students’ Career Planning Guidance System Based On B/S Three-Tier Architecture

At present, the guidance mode of college students’ career planning guidance system is imperfect, resulting in too long submission time. A college students’ career planning guidance system based on B/S three-tier architecture is designed. Hardware part: on the basis of obtaining the sensor dynamic compensation filter, expand 6 static memory; Software part: obtain the influencing factors of College Students’ career planning, combined with the external environment, use the B/S three-tier architecture to set the guidance mode, formulate the links of career planning, adopt the hierarchical management mode, and design the role authority management function of the system. Experimental results: the average submission time of the college students’ career planning guidance system designed this time and the other two systems is 11.277s, 16.253s and 15.554s, which proves that the college students’ career planning guidance system integrating the B/S three-tier architecture has a better effect.

The smartphone in self-regulated learning and student success: clarifying relationships and testing an intervention

This two-part observational and intervention study addressed the role of the smartphone in self-regulated learning (SRL) and student success as measured by achievement. Smartphone usage among students has been identified as contributing to lower academic achievement in a variety of settings. What is unclear is how smartphone usage contributes to lower outcomes. This study surveyed participants’ self-regulated learning skills and smartphone usage at the beginning and end of the term for first semester undergraduates. A regression analysis demonstrated that when controlling for prior achievement, general SRL measures had a positive impact on first semester achievement. Smartphone related SRL did not have a direct impact on achievement. The second part of the study evaluated the efficacy of a brief intervention to ameliorate factors contributing to lower achievement. Students were presented with either SRL strategies, awareness and attention strategies or career planning guidance (control). A regression analysis of the brief intervention resulted in modest gains in SRL but did not influence achievement.

Analysis on the Whole Process Approach of Career Planning Guidance for College Students

With the introduction of the policy of expanding enrollment in colleges and universities, many colleges and universities in the country have added specialties and increased enrollment scale. In the past 20 years, the number of college graduates in China has increased rapidly. The employment situation of many college graduates is not optimistic because of the shortage of professional skills and fierce competition. Although many colleges and universities now have the courses of career planning and employment guidance, to give college students the psychological guidance of employment , vocational training and planning, to help college students improve their competitiveness in employment. However, these guidance can help students to carry out career planning, targeted learning and practice, but in practice, because of different grades, different periods of students' personal needs, psychological characteristics, employer needs and so on, the original guidance can not meet the needs of students' employment competitiveness and growth, talent. Based on this, this paper discusses how to carry out the guidance of career planning for college students more effectively from the perspective of effectiveness and whole process.

Understanding the achieving styles of Chinese millennials and implications on HRM policy

Purpose Matching with the timeline of major events in China, as well as major shifts in China’s human research management, the purpose of this paper is to present the comparisons of achieving styles among Chinese millennial employees, millennial university students and Generation X employees. Design/methodology/approach Drawing from the achieving styles literature as well as the life course theory, this study first proposes hypotheses on specific differences in nine achieving styles. The authors tested by using data from 889 millennial employees and 364 millennial students from five cities in China. Findings The results showed that the power direct achieving style stood out for the Chinese millennials, and the competitive direct achieving style ranked higher for Generation X. Moreover, millennial employees had higher scores for all nine achieving styles than millennial students. Practical implications This study advises that when motivating Chinese millennial employees, human resource managers can create a competitive environment and provide career planning guidance, and that to better assist millennial university students to socialize, human resource managers can develop matched internship programs. Originality/value The paper contributes to the life course literature and the achieving styles literature by comparing the differences among Chinese millennial employees, university students and Generation X.

Academic information to support career plan for high school student in depok city, west java

Decisions about one’s career choices are not instantaneous but through planning and information gathering. The existence of information that accompanies the students is less as consideration of teachers and parents to prepare to face learning especially in planning the continuation of education or future career. The aim of this research is to solve problem statement “what academic information is needed to assist students in planning students career”. Based on the results of data analysis and interviews, it can be concluded that the information needed to provide student career planning guidance is 1) student interest, 2) desire of parents, 3) the grades of report cards, 4) specialization in High School, 5) psychological test results about interest and talents, 6) university majors 7) possible work after graduating university according to the majors, 8) general types of work, 9) ability to obtain the job and 10) the development of science and technology world.

Qualitative research on professional experience of undergraduate nurses

Objective To understand the status quo of professional experience of undergraduate nurses so as to provide a reference for the hospital administrators to stabilize the highly educated nursing personnel. Methods From October to December 2016, 12 clinical nurses with initial undergraduate degree from 4 Class Ⅲ Grade A hospitals in Guangzhou were selected as the research objects by purposive sampling method. They received an in-depth interview. We used the 7 step analysis method of Colaizzi phenomenology to analyze the data. Results Totally 3 themes were extracted: the advantages of educational background cannot be reflected with loss of value; the social status was low with sense of loss; Lack of experience and sense of achievement. Conclusions Hospital administrators should pay attention to the professional emotional state of nurses with undergraduate degree, strengthen organizational support, provide career planning guidance, meet their career growth needs, so as to stabilize the nurses with high academic degrees, and improve the quality of nursing service. Status of personal career planning and influencing factors analysis for higher vocational college nursing students

Objective To study the status of personal career planning of higher vocational nursing students and analyze its related factors .Methods General information and career planning questionnaire were used to survey, then its influencing factors were analyzed .Results The total score of personal career planning of the students was （2.89 ±0.36）.Stepwise regression analysis showed that ‘whether taking career planning education or not ’ ,‘satisfaction on the nursing profession ’ , ‘whether working as a student cadre or not ’ ,‘gender ’ ,‘whether the only child ’ were the important factors of their career planning .Conclusions The profession satisfaction level of higher vocational nursing students is in medium , and it is affected by various factors.Higher nursing education should pay more attention to nursing students ’ personal career planning guidance, so as to improve nursing students ’ professional satisfaction and sense of identity . 新时期大学生职业规划的探究

当代大学生就业难的现状，与其缺乏正确适当的职业规划指导有很大关系。部分学生在校期间不能客观准确地评价自我，因而无法制定出符合自身特点的职业规划。本文通过分析新时期职业规划的重要性，指出现今职业规划教育中存在的问题，并给出了职业生涯教育“雪球”式的规划方案。实践证明，该方案具有一定的可行性。The difficult employment status of contemporary college students has a great relationship with their lack of proper career planning guidance. Some students can not objectively and accurately evaluate themselves in school, therefore could not develop a career plan in line with their own characteristics. This paper analyzes the importance of the career planning, points out the existing problems of the career planning education today, and gives a type of career planning education called “snowball”. Practice has proved that this scheme is feasible.
