This text is about how entrepreneurs are essential to a nation's economic development process. The hypothesis is that a country cannot develop economically without entrepreneurs at its core. As a preliminary result, it is possible to state that entrepreneurs are endowed with qualities that make them unique and, among the numerous attributes required of entrepreneurs, we see that at least two deserve to be highlighted: motivation and ambition. This study is justified by the need to understand how motivation, on the one hand, can be defined as an entrepreneur's ability to adapt to change, keeping their eyes fixed on a target and not letting themselves be overwhelmed by adverse situations, and, on the other hand, how ambition can be defined as an anxious or strong desire to achieve what sometimes doesn't even exist yet: this is how some 'invent a market of needs and demands'. Part of the results from this can attest to the fact that this is a leadership skill typical of entrepreneurship, and one that, outside of this environment, many people may not even recognize. The aim of this article is to describe the role of motivation and ambition in promoting entrepreneurial success. It concludes that these virtues play a decisive role in the entrepreneur's ability to reach his targets and goals and achieve success.
