Abstract A description is provided for Cochliobolus chloridis . Information is included on the disease caused by the organism, its transmission, geographical distribution, and hosts. HOSTS: Chloris gayana . DISEASE: Leaf blight of Chloris . By inoculation it is less pathogenic to Sorghum producing only small numbers of punctiform purplish spots (56: 2109). The disease is associated with the anamorph. GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION: Australia, India, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia. TRANSMISSION: By air-borne conidia.
