Abstract

Abstract A description is provided for Bipolaris crustacea . Information is included on the disease caused by the organism, its transmission, geographical distribution, and hosts. HOSTS: Sporobolus sp. DISEASE: Attacking inflorescences of Sporobolus forming black, crustose fungal masses which completely or partly envelop the inflorescences. GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION: Australia, Burma, Indonesia, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, South Africa. TRANSMISSION: By infected seeds and air-borne conidia.
