Abstract
THE SEED which blossomed into Early Years Educator was sown after a chance conversation with my wife last August. Sue is a committed reading recovery teacher, who has always derived considerable satisfaction from helping small children. I am a governor at a special school. Talk about education looms large. My wife has always worked closely with nursery nurses and she has come to have a growing respect for the work that they perform. Given the government's manifesto commitment to early years, nursery nurses needed a strong professional voice, she ventured.
