Abstract

Spatial skills are defined as a person's ability to draw conclusions based on arguments from a situation regarding form, location, path, relationships between entities, and relationships between entities and terms of reference. Students of mathematics education STKIP PGRI Jombang are prospective teachers who are required to have skills in learning mathematics, one of which is spatial skills. Therefore, spatial skills must be possessed by students of mathematics education at STKIP PGRI Jombang because they are related to geometry material taught from primary to secondary education. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between cognitive style and spatial skills of mathematics education students at STKIP PGRI Jombang. This type of research is correlational quantitative research. The population of this research is the students of the 2021 class of mathematics education study program STKIP PGRI Jombang. as a sample are students of class A . There are two instruments, namely GEFT and TKSM. Based on calculations using Product Moment Correlation analysis with the help of the SPSS computer program, the significance value (0.00) (0.05). This shows the relationship between the two variables is significant. The Pearson Correlation score between cognitive style and spatial skills is 0.927. So this study shows that there is a relationship between cognitive style and spatial skills.
