Abstract
The partition of uranium (VI) between sulphuric acid solutions and solutions of di-(2-ethylhexyl)-phosphoric acid (DEHPA) in kerosene has been investigated at varying concentrations of sulphuric acid, solvent and uranium at different temperatures. Changes in acidity of the organic solutions have been examined, and infra-red data have been obtained; the mechanism of uranium extraction is discussed on the basis of these results.
