Abstract

This study is the Materials Analysis and its potential Sinabung eruption in North Sumatra Province of research conducted on 23 to 30 September 2014 in the Karo district in North Sumatra with a description of the research methods of observation and purposive sampling. Based on the results of the study (1) the characteristics of the eruption of Sinabung (texture, structure, hardness) sandstone rock types with mineral andesite rocks belonging to the size of the boom, lapilli and tuff with a grayish color and level 5 the eruption of violence rocks, (2 ) Sinabung eruption sediment thickness of material thickness at the tip of the tongue lava + 300 meters, flow velocity of 60 km ha and slope angle or slope runway + 700 materials deposition thickness on the riverbank +120 cm, while of the Tuff human settlement up to + 50 cm, (3) the direction of the spread of Sinabung material eruption, tends to the East, as the central point of the volcanic eruptions are the southeast wall (4) potential material Sinabung eruption, the eruption, can be beneficial to increase the nutrient elements in the soil so that the soil becomes fertile and good for farming. While the size of lapilli and bomb materials can be used as a good C class mining for building materials.
