Abstract

This study aims to find out about the impact of volcanic eruptions on agriculture horticulture Sinabung in the Karo district of North Sumatra province . This study is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach is the approach to collecting information from key informants, key informants were farmers and residents of Mount Sinabung data collection techniques used questionnaires, observation, and interviews. The data have been obtained with the tested validity and triangulation techniques observations. Data analysis was performed with the reduction phase, classification, and interpretation of data, and making conclusions. The results of this study found that (1) the impact of the eruption of Mount Sinabung on agriculture horticulture different in each region Kabaupaten Karo, (2) the highest damage from the eruption of Sinabung volcano on agriculture horticulture is the area of ​​2,065 ha of citrus lows against the kale plants 2 ha.
