Abstract
Albert L. Lederer is Professor of MIS and Chair of the Decision and Information Sciences Department in the School of Business Administration at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. He has written over fifty articles on MIS in the Journal of Management Information Systems, Communications of the ACM, MIS Quarterly, Decision Sciences, Sloan Management Review, Information Systems Research, and other periodicals, and has edited two books on the application of information technology to human resource management. He was program chair for the 1992 annual conference of the Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group on Computer Personnel Research from which these papers were selected. He is on the editorial review boards of the Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Journal of Management Systems, Journal of Database Administration, Journal of Information Technology Management, and Computer Personnel. He has a Ph.D. in industrial and systems engineering and an M.S. in computer and information sciences from the Ohio State University, and spent ten years in industry in the information systems field before becoming a professor.
