Abstract

Siegfried Lenz has always been among the popular writers as one of the important writers of German Writing, with his works covering both post-war and contemporary literature. Lenz, with his works translated into many languages, has also become an important name in World Literature. The author, who handles the subjects he has written quite successfully with both his language and the way of transmission, has opened the doors of both a historical process and his own philosophy of life to the readers. The novel named "The Safer Changer" that we discuss in this study is an important product both the author's own philosophy of life and the literary World. In this novel, the author deals with the situations of war, front and soldiers in the front in great detail and he reflected the effects of the war without a mediator, with a kind of questioning method of figures themselves.
