Abstract

The current study focus on the analyze the working of plate type heat exchanger taking Al2O3 and CuO hybrid nano additives under various conditions. The performance has been measured with variation in Reynolds number of the cold fluid and the hot fluid, inlet temperature and nano particles concentrations. The concentration of nano particle was varied from 0.1 % to 0.5 % and temperature was varied from 60 °C to 80 °C. The heat transfer rate significantly improved on adding nano additives vs base fluid. Highest improvement was reported to be 21 % more than of base fluid. While with the use of nanofluid the pressure drop was also increased but heat transfer improvement larger than increase in pressure drop. Study concludes that pressure drop and rate of heat transfer significantly improved with usage of hybrid nanofluids.
