Abstract

Abstract The electrical impedance characteristics of a piezoelectric disc are related to the mechanical resonance phenomena in the disc. The theoretical electrical impedance evaluated from the linear piezoelectric equations will only predict resonant properties for certain discs. In other discs additional ‘resonances’ occur due to the excitation of extra modes. Such resonances have been experimentally measured and theoretically investigated.
