Abstract
For this decade, the chemical industry in Japan has strived to reform their business structure to the specialty chemicals, where the product quality is emerging out as the crucial technology and management problems. This paper presents, from the concept of quality, the quality assurance, and its recent state in chemical industry. Meanwhile, we discuss the quality technology in the process engineering activities, and finally, try to place it to the Process Systems Engineering as a key connotation for its next extent of this discipline.
