Abstract
Our production planning is consisted of long range, middle range, short range production planning and daily scheduling. Generally, it is suitable to apply linear programming method to the operation planning of petroleum refinery, as it is not so difficult to construct linear refining models. Thus, linear programming method is widely applied in production planning. For short range production planning and daily scheduling, case study function such as balance calculation with friendly man-machine interface is more suitable than optimization function like OR method. And, there is batch production procedure in a part of petroleum refinery. As it is hard to apply linear programming in the area, expert system combined with balance calculator is used.
