Abstract
This chapter discusses nitrones by using a US patent. The book Advances in Synthetic Organic Chemistry is written with an endeavor to enhance the knowledge of academic and industrial chemists, and provide them with significant advances in current chemical research in 46 subject areas as reported in the US patent literature. The US patent discussed in detail in this chapter is furan nitrone compounds. The chapter also provides some facts about the patent including its assignee and utility designation. The assignee for this patent is Centaur Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and the utility designation is spin radical trapping agent. The chapter further mentions reaction and experimental details of the organic compound being discussed. The derivates are also provided in a table form. These are followed by notes, providing additional information to the reader. Lastly, it lists a few US patents that have been referred to for this chapter.
