Abstract

The book Advances in Synthetic Organic Chemistry aims to provide academic and industrial chemists with significant advances in current chemical research in 46 subject areas as reported in the US patent literature. To achieve this objective, four interconnected components are used. This chapter describes tetrahydrobenzoquinoxaline diones with the help of a US patent. The patent covered in this chapter is pyrrolyl tetrahydrobenzoquinoxaline diones, their preparation, and use as glutamate receptor antagonist. It provides a few details of the patent as well that include the information related to assignee and utility designation. The assignee for this patent is as BASF Aktiengesellschaft and the utility designation is treatment of neurodegenerative disorders. The chapter also mentions reactions and derivatives related to this organic compound. Comprehensive experimental details are also provided that explain the step-by-step procedure. Additionally, notes and references to other relevant US patents are outlined.
