Abstract

Speaking of Colonialism and its implementation causing systematic exploitation can lead to loss of support from the scientific community. Lots of these institutions in Bangladesh survive through parachute scientists, old-guard institutions from the global north, and neocolonial science and conservation efforts. This has led to unequal “partnerships” that have affected scientific research in the region. There are very few opportunities for NGOs and civil society organizations in the area leading to the development of colonial conservation. Even though British colonizers were forced out of Bangladesh over seven decades ago their education system remains. This colonial system has led to a lack of development and support for local scientific researchers.
