Abstract
Pope Francis’ recent reform of personal prelatures and their assimilation into clerical associations has led to the initiation of a process of reform of Opus Dei’s statutes. The paper analyses the possible consequences of the adaptation of the statutes to the pontifical decrees in order to obtain civil personality. The canonical consideration of the entity, which underlines its nature as an association created within the Catholic Church, could lead to the need for its inscription in the Register of Religious Entities. Throughout the study, various aspects of the future hypothetical registration are analyzed, such as the applicant, the content of the registration as well as the required documents, its procedure, or the possible annotations subordinate to the main registration.
