Abstract

Low back pain (LBP) is a complaint that many people experience throughout our lives. It can occur in young people, but is most often experienced by geriatrics or workers who lift weights. We sometimes treat ourselves by means of a massage, taking over the counter medicine or going to a health facility. Taking medicine without a doctor's prescription and it lasts for a long time can cause damage to the liver, kidneys and stomach. The Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia since mid-2020 has caused changes in social life challenges. Covid-19 is easily transmitted, through micro-splashes of saliva and can last a long time in contaminated air or objects. Advanced age, history of diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease are high risk factors. Currently, many are afraid to go to health facilities because many people gathering for treatment will put patients and health workers at risk of contracting Covid-19 amid the pandemic, so they often seek other treatment that can cause complaints of low back pain to get worse. The aim of this service is to provide knowledge and skills to the community online so that they can independently handle complaints of low back pain amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The solution offered was to conduct a simple hand manipulation webinar to independently treat low back pain complaints. The implementation results showed that most of the participants had complaints of low back pain. After following the demonstration given by the instructor, most of the participants experienced a decrease in the pain scale in the waist. In conclusion, online hand manipulation is a simple, easy to apply, and quite effective technique for dealing with low back pain experienced by participants
