Abstract

The development of professional skills during university education is a subject that has been extensively studied in pedagogical research, in particular the study of pre-professional practices (PPP) that are developed during the career. The objective of this article is to present an investigative experience in this field, related to the PPP teachers in the Technical University of Manabi (UTM), of Ecuador. The study shows that there are differences between the duty of the PPP, endorsed in normative documents at the level of country, university, faculty and career, and the practical development of them, taking as reference an exploratory diagnosis in the career Pedagogy of the National and Foreign Languages, of the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Sciences of the Education, of the UTM. This led the authors to design a pedagogical strategy that once implemented will improve the process of teacher PPPs, thus contributing to the appropriation by the students of the pedagogical didactic skills necessary for an adequate professional performance once graduated.
