Abstract

This study presents the State of the Art in the research on knowledge, teaching, higher education and social representations. The motivation for this article is based on the relevance of the use of the State of the Art from the references of Ferreira (2002), Messina (1998) and Lakatos (1991), focusing on the main aspects of the collection of work already done. We surveyed the studies that include the descriptors "knowledge, teaching, higher education and social representations" in the Portal of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personne - CAPES and then in the Bank of Theses and Dissertations of the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations - BDTD. We select only those works that have a closer relationship with our object - analysis of the social representations of teachers in the Pedagogy Program of a public University in southwest Bahia on teaching in higher education. The purpose of this production is to reveal the objectives, the results and the relationship that the works found and chosen may have with each other. This exercise makes us think about what has been produced in the Post-Graduate Programs in Education-Master Level, the new discussions, as well as reflect on the relevance of our proposal.
