Abstract

Energy is the basic industry and directly affects the activities of all sectors of the economy. Sustainable socio-economic development and energy security of both the regions and the state as a whole depend on the coordinated work of all structural units that are part of the country's energy system. The peculiarity of the Belarusian energy system lies in its integrity, which is manifested in the common goals and objectives for reliable and uninterrupted supply of high-quality and environmentally friendly energy to consumers. The article analyzes the general features of the organizational and legal form of functioning and the main goals of the regional energy systems, taking into account the specific features of the electric power industry, which distinguish it from other sectors of the economy, and also identifies the most important tasks for the future.
